Went to Mother's Day brunch with a reservation and, while we understood they were running behind, we didn't get seated until over 30 minutes after our reservation time. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse from there. It took more than 2 hours for our food to arrive, even though multiple tables seated after us were served much sooner. Our server rarely checked on us and seemed to avoid our table altogether. The restaurant clearly was not prepared for the Mother's Day crowd, and the food itself was underwhelming. Very disappointing experience overall. We won't be returning and would recommend saving your money and choosing somewhere else. read more

Came here on a Friday during Lent so I didn't get to take the pic of the menu like I normally would. I had to go for a non-meat option. I chose the French onion soup. This was really good, rich and very flavorful. It would have been nice if it came with a slice of French bread on the side as well, but it was still very tasty. My dad got the three pancake trio and that looked really good. I was envious. Had a cinnamon bun pancake, a cookie butter pancake, and a strawberry pancake. read more

Mimi's is a spot that I have been going to since I was in high school. I was happy that their breakfast menu is more vegetarian friendly than their lunch menu. Our server was very kind and attentive. We tried a muffin that was delightful. I was disappointed in the avocado toast simply because the amount of avocado was small. I ended up taking the slices from someone else's meal to get close to a full serving. I was also sad that they didn't offer oat milk, but almond is okay. Took my wife and child there for Mother's Day at 9am. They were not busy at this time, but it took forever to get our food and then, it was cold. It had clearly been sitting out for a while before it was finally brought to us by our waitress, who never bothered to check on us. Most of the tables in our section were also waiting a long time for their food. I will never go back. It was a horrible Mother's Day breakfast. Zero stars. Their reservations person at the front is a totally liar. We had noon reservations for mother's day and ended up waiting almost an hour after that, all the time asking and being told their was 2 tables ahead of us and he called table after table after table all while continuing to lie straight to our faces that we were next. This place is pretty good although, I only had a green goddess salad which was absolutely, delicious. My daughter got spaghetti & fries and really enjoyed it. The service was great, considering that they were only working with a few servers an a cook. The ambiance within is nice and they have comfort in mind when selecting music. The server was very kind, but service was very slow. The restaurant has an older Cajun vibe but the seat I was on was so old I was sitting half in a hole in the bench seat. I tried the strawberry basil margarita, but it was not drinkable as it was too much mix. My husband got the jambalaya, which was okay but underwhelming. The bacon, crab, and shrimp pasta was okay for a few bites but very oily to the point it wasn't edible as it cooled. We were supposed to get toast with each dish, but didn't get it with either. The appetizer sampler was the saving grace for this meal and was the only reason it received more than one star. Overall, it was very overpriced for very subpar quality. Went to Mimi's on 4/12/2026 at around 3:30 p.m. and was seated soon after arriving. We left after 20 minutes of being ignored by the servers and manager. Not one person acknowledged that we were there...no one made eye contact. There were 4 people seated at a table next to ours being waited on by a server and the manager. Nice spot! The entire restaurant is huge, so there's a ton of seating. There was no wait for breakfast, we were seated promptly and our server greeted us pretty quickly once we were seated. The menu is extensive with so many different choices, not only for breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. I've passed this place too many times not realizing what it had to offer. Never been to a Mimi's, tried it for lunch service. Pretty uninspiring menu, typical sandwich/burger fare so I went with a burger. Service was space, the place was not bustling by any means but looks like only 2 servers. My burger arrived and it is clearly not fresh. It's a frozen, out of a box hockey puck burger on a brioche bun. First bite, flavorless.and not hot. Not impressed with this restaurant. My server visited my table once, and ignored me until I requested my check. My booth was dirty looking, in disrepair and neglected. The pleather was flaking and the cloth seemed filthy. Ugh. My first and likely my only meal at Mimi's Cafe. Do better. read more

I was in the restaurant with my grandkids. The service was good. The food was OK, but we did have a few problems. The manager a woman with dark hair, barely gave my complaints any attention she made me feel like my concerns were unimportant. She was tall and older seemed to know everything I was going to say, as if she'd heard it before she was polite, but still made me feel unheard or maybe she was just not concerned. I was looking for a diner and decided to check out Mimi's. The atmosphere was cozy like and definitely had a cafe vibe in the air. It took several minutes to be greeted and seated, then several more minutes to get drink orders. The wait staff was polite. I ordered spinach artichoke, a cajun shakshuka and the grand breakfast with bacon, eggs, and pain perdu mixed with berries. The spinach artichoke was solid and parmesan forward, the cajun shakshuka was underwhelming in flavor and spices, no real cajun flavor to speak of and honestly a less than hearty shakshuka, a nice effort that fell flat, the eggs and bacon were what you would want from any diner, the star of the show was the pain perdu, soft, moist, and yet fluffy and airy at the same time. If I recommend anything here it's the typical diner fare. read more

Went to Mimi's for Mother's Day brunch. We had reservations but even with, had a wait time to be seated. Once we ordered we waited over 50 minutes for food, never had drink refills. Once our food arrived we had to ask for napkins and silverware. The bacon looked only partially cooked and the eggs had weird streaks of bluish gray on them. The waitress did replace both but the extra side of bacon which came with 4 pieces, was replaced with only 3 pieces. However, we were still charged the same. There was so much dust on the light, chunks kept blowing off the light fixture above us and floating down on our table. 3 of 4 bathroom stalls had no toilet paper. We understand it's a busy day but it made our experience less than enjoyable and we will reconsider next time. Maybe on a regular day the staffing and time isn't as bad but for a special occasion I'd go elsewhere. read more

Made a reservation for Mimi's today and met some family there. Was seated quickly but from the moment we sat down the service went downhill. Our waitress was not friendly and didn't check on us at all except to get our drink and food orders. She even watched a family member finish their drink while standing at bar but never came over to ask if he wanted another. The food was okay but our waitress got one of the orders wrong and someone else had to wait on their fries. The bathroom was also disgusting and needed to be cleaned badly. I was there yesterday about 10:30am. The ambiance was a nice little French bistro. Super cute. The restroom is in the way far back west side corner, hard to find... look for the red door. What was dangerous was the little heater with the wire on the floor right outside that red door. The food was so-so. I ordered quiche Florentine with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were lukewarm room; but good flavor. The quiche tasted as if it had been microwaved; still had a good flavor, the crust texture was a little soggy though. read more

MiMi's staff are very attentive and pleasant. Sadly the Restaurant is getting shabby with lack of maintance. We were seated near the front door which slammed due to a defective door opener, very annoying, we asked to be moved as did other customers. Waiter said it has been that way for a while and service requests go unanswered. Trip to the mens room had the stall door lock missing and the coat hook on the door had fallen off. Were we were seated had a roof leak and a large ceiling tile looked as if it could fall at any time. On the way out looking at the outside of the building had large areas of peeling paint. Went to Mimi's for Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday. Had reservations and were seated right away. Service was great. Brought more tea, coffee, and water without being asked. Was aslo asked if we wanted any drinks to go. Nice touch. Place was clean, as always (I have been here before). As for lunch, Turkey was moist and delicious. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. I recently had a visit to Mimi's for the first time ever and I was not impressed. It was a little pricey for relatively simple food. I definitely don't think I was the target market, the clientele was definitely older and no diversity. So I felt a little out of place. And I know they don't get too many brown people there because the server was quick to tell me, "Welcome back! didn't i just wait on you a few days ago?" I told her no, actually I have never been here before, this is my first time ever dining here. So, take what you will from THAT conversation. Overall I had the grilled cheese and soup and got the madeleines for the additional upcharge in my bread basket. What I had was good, but I spent almost $20 on relatively simple fare. I don't have to go back. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was served in a timely manner, it was hot, it tasted fine, but I don't need to go back there. read more

I was reluctant to eat here today after reading some of the recent reviews, however the few times I've visited my experience was good. So, of course I gave them a try and man I'm glad about it. Not only were we pleasantly greeted upon arrival by the manager Lewis I think is his name but the our server Chris was top notch!!!! I mean like he gave 5 star service, very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. And the attention to details was A++ So what's a food review without talking about the food!!!! The service and being greeted can be on point but if the food suck then none of that matters. So now the food!!!! The food was great!!!! Hot and full of flavor!!! So I'll say give them a try and if you want that Top Notch World Class service hopefully you visited when Chris is there!!! read more

Ordered 2 coffees....Micki came back to inform us it didn't seem fresh enough so she was brewing a fresh batch. It was excellent and worth the additional wait. I convinced my friend to go here for breakfast because it's usually delicious and you have lots of breakfast choices besides the usual bacon and eggs. I ordered the potato cake Benedict. Instead of an English muffin, the base is a "crispy potato cake". When our young and inexperienced server brought our food, I could see right away the hollandaise sauce was broken (separated, leaving pools of butter). I pointed this out to our server and she said "yeah, I saw that didn't look right." I decided to give it a try anyway. The "crispy potato cakes" turned out to be anything but crispy. I hate to send food back, but two glaring errors were too much for me. I ordered the eggs Florentine crepes. They were better than the Benedict, but boring and not very hot, served with a side of terrible home fries and cantaloupe. My friend was not too pleased with her "safe" order of bacon and eggs either. Another side of terrible potatoes that LOOKED terrific and two pieces of the thinnest, driest wheat toast, burnt on one side. I think I'll remember the good meals I've had at Mimi's and leave it at that. read more

A short road-trip to Chesterfield found us at a quiet restaurant on a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm. I'm guessing that Mimi's is know more for breakfast and the restaurant was busy earlier. Despite that time of day the service was excellent and the food came out quickly. My wife and I decided to have breakfast after looking a very extensive menu full of lunch and dinner items that looked appealing. So our orders were pancakes for her and crapes for me. My wife commented that she never had better tasting pancakes. I feel the same about my fruity crapes! We will be back. read more
