Had arrived on a busy Saturday morning for brunch expecting a wait, but my family was seated within a few mins. Service was excellent, food was spectacular. The strawberry jam that is served with toast is wonderful. I ordered the eggs Benedict which was cooked perfectly, with egg whites and a homemade hollandaise, grilled ham on a toasted English muffin, and a side of roasted potatoes. A little more pricey than I had initially expected but worth it for the quality of the food. We will definitely be visiting again. read more

Wow! Never again.... I had some family in town and ended up taking the 6 of us to Biscuits Café for a Brunch around 10am. We had heard good things about it and expected it to be busy, and it was. We really didn't mind the 35 minute wait to get seated; but the following, no customer should have to go through. It took a few minutes for our waitress to get to us after being sat at a just wiped down table. We got our coffee & menus, and then about 10 minutes later she finally came back with a stack of napkins and a handful of silverware (literally) that she just put on the table in a pile. So, 35 minutes after taking our order, she returned to the table and apologized because the kitchen was so busy the food tickets were running at about 30 minutes to fill. In the mean time, we watched another table turn over and get their food before us. Well, after our 45+ minute wait for our food it came to us COLD, and since the waitress didn't return to check on us for another 10 minutes, we ended up eating our cold breakfast. For a supposed Breakfast/Brunch specialty establishment... They are about the worst their is!!! A $110 breakfast with this service.... NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

I arrived at 1:20pm for lunch was my first time there. Greeted right away seated a minute later and brought my coffee right away. Waitress was nice and took my order by 1:24 so I was excited. The menu said the patty melt was on rye and didn't mention that marbled fake rye but sure enough 29 minutes later that's what I got! Did I mention there were only three tables there besides me! This was my second visit to Biscuits Cafe and I am beyond disappointed and will not be returning. The first time we went the food was great service was awesome and you get so much food!! This last visit was disturbing to say the least. Our food arrvies and I noticed that there was a drop of red stuff on my plate, thought it was ketchup so I wiped it with my finger and it was BLOOD!! I immediately went to the restroom and washed my hands and asked for my server the manager. I showed them the plate and when I looked at my other plates yes there was blood on them too. The manager proceeds to say oh I don't think that's blood it maybe blueberries...???! So I am now a little upset because I know the difference between a blueberry and freaking BLOOD!!! I gave the place a second chance to remake the food the kitchen staff that I had thought and mentioned to the server who's hand was cut was now wearing gloves... Well a little grossed out we didn't finish our food even though it was good. Now at the end of our meal and considering what happened I did expect a discount for having a stranger's blood on multiple plates but that didn't happen we had a full bill no discount and was offered a cinnamon roll.. really a cinnamon roll so I declined paid my bill and left. read more

Tried Biscuits Cafe' here in Surprise today, with the name of your eatery you would think they had a nice flaky homemade biscuit? Nope, a small bland tasting biscuit smothered in a weird tasting country gravy which first has a "spoiled" taste then you taste what seems to be country gravy, and it was lukewarm. When I first saw the prices, 8.99 for the 1 biscuit combo which included a big heap of scrambled eggs and 5 slices of bacon. Portions are too big, except the tiny biscuit, I don't need 15 eggs scrambled, nor do I need a half a pound of greasy bacon. A 26 dollar bill for breakfast for 2 is a bit excessive. Nice addition to the Surprise area breakfast choices. My wife and I had breakfast at Biscuits today. The atmosphere is "modern industrial". A bit noisy but, having a busy restaurant is a good sign. This is the only reason it gets a 4. Not easy to have a quiet conversation. We had their Apple Cinnamon French Toast Combo and Avocado Benedict along with a Cinnamon Roll. The portions are really large next time we may consider splitting breakfast. The French Toast Combo was fluffy and the custard base was excellent, not too sweet. My wife's Benedict was filled with healthy veggies and perfect poached eggs. Her serving of hash browns was ample and she shared a ton with me. It's hard to find an interesting and good place for breakfast in Surprise; however, Biscuit's will be a place that we come back to for lunch and breakfast. Our cost for French Toast, Avocado Benedict, Cinnamon roll and two coffees came to $33.12 with tax. This is comparable to other restaurants in the area. read more

Great food, good staff but horrible Acoustics! If you want to have a good conversation bring a blow horn with you. The noise level is unreal. The wait staff for the most part are great, there are a few laddies which work the weekends who are just amazingly awesome. Love the idea behind the decorating, but if you love french toast, I recommend the Almond Crusted French Toast - it's truly the best! With the snow birds back in town its going to be a long wait - plan to go early or before church lets out on Sundays! =) read more

We were very excited to see Biscuits Cafe opening near us in Surprise but our first and most likely last visit today was very disappointing. We arrived just before noon. They were busy but we got seated in less than 10 minutes. The main area was very cold with multiple ceiling fans going full speed. I was happy when they sat us near the roll up doors where it was warmer... Until they kicked on the AC and turned the fan on above us full speed. I will never understand why places do that as it makes your food cold so fast. We had to ask them to turn the fan off. It took forever to get our food. I ordered mine and my sons eggs dry not runny and our bacon crisp and hashbrowns well done but my husband did not. His eggs came brown, his toast was not toasted and his bacon and hashbrowns were well done like mine but he didn't order them that way. They forgot his milk then delivered a small instead of a large and had to bring him another one. The food was warm but not hot. I've never had tough pancakes until today. They were dry and crisp on the edges and tough all over. They tasted like pancakes that were cooked earlier and sat in a tray waiting to be served. We were harassed our whole meal by flies. We went here while on a visit to Phoenix. Stopped on a Sunday morning. Had about a 15 minute wait to get in. We split a Denver omelette and a side of bacon. Horrible Service!!!!! Our waitress Bobbi Jo was the WORST we have EVER had in all of our dining experiences. She seemed legitimately mad when we needed something and took forever to give us silver wear. The food came out and the hash browns were not cooked all the way, so we asked if they could cook them a little longer. They bought them back out and they were so over cooked that there's no way they didn't do it on purpose. Food was ok but based on the service we will NEVER return again. Had my first breakfast there this past Thursday morning. We were greeted and seated promptly, drink orders taken and quickly delivered, then placed our breakfast orders. I ordered the pancake combo (three pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon) and a side of hash browns. One in our party had eggs benedict and another had the southwest scramble with gravy added over his biscuit. My scrambled was fine, bacon serving excellent but the pancakes were heavy, with an aftertaste stronger than buttermilk (I suspect they add buckwheat flour, which made the pancakes too heavy and chewy, robbing the diner of the lightness of a good pancake.) I was surprised that the hash browns were good. On the platter they looked undercooked, with minimum browning. However they were mostly cooked and I expect they do a little steaming on the grill to achieve that effect. I sampled my friend's biscuit and gravy and that tasted good. I suspect I'd go with the biscuit and gravy combo if I visit again. Regarding the coffee, if you are not a fan of dark roast I guess it's okay. To me, a dark roast drinker, I found it weak and flavorless. With respect to pricing, yes, Biscuits is a bit pricey. $3.00 for rather pedestrian coffee is a bit much. And the meal prices are about an average $3 bucks more than taste and quality justified. However there are always trade-offs. For a bit more than IHOP or Denny's you get better quality food, and a little more of it. Other than my advice to avoid the pancakes, I give this place 3 stars for service and quality of food. This would be my "go to" breakfast place if they shaved the prices a tad. Our tab was $55 dollars for three breakfasts, two of us having coffee, one only orange juice. I gauge that $45 dollars ($15 each for an average breakfast, with coffee, would be just about right.) That $55 dollar tab for three breakfasts has me still looking for a place that balances price and quality. read more

First visit to Biscuits Café (open for just over a year), early on a Sunday morning. Even at 7 a.m. opening, the place had a good-size crowd. Server was Robert who was quick and attentive--covering many tables, he still refilled beverages without having to be reminded. Food was good, well-prepared and served hot--and VERY generous portions, including two biscuits with each breakfast order. Great home-made strawberry jam was served in a small cup on each plate instead of those little plastic packets on the table. Prices were moderate--in line with other local breakfast spots like Village Inn, Denny's, and Coco's--but food here is much better (with large servings), while atmosphere, staffing, and cleanliness are all better here than at most other places. read more

My husband and I have been here to the Surprise location on two different weekends and found Chaz (our waiter both times ) to be excellent and very helpful. The manager Rich was also helpful. The food was good and lots of it. I had the cinnamon roll French toast and it was delicious. The blueberry pancakes had tons of blueberries in them too. My husband had the breakfast tacos and loves them. We will be coming back -- Chaz is our waiter of choice -- not to say everyone else wasn't pleasant but he is really good :) read more

This place has really gone downhill. We have lived here for three years and have been patrons of this restaurant on and off the entire time. Today was the last I'll go here... On purpose. We arrived at 9:15. We were seated by about 9:20. At 9:30 we finally had someone arrive to take a drink order. We waited another 15 minutes before our orders were taken... Then we waited. Our food didn't arrive until 10:20...50 minutes later. The entire time we waited, zero service. Not once in the hour plus breakfast did my coffee get refilled. Just terrible service. The waitress said they were a little short on help in the kitchen... But if seemed just as short in the waitress department. So bad. And then the food was just average. The one two combo of a failed restaurant. Less than average did with terrible service. I hold the management guilty... When you don't stay appropriately, your business suffers. Overall it took over an hour and a half to eat breakfast. Unacceptable. read more

This is just an OK place. Considering their name has biscuit in it you would think the biscuits would be outstanding - they were not. I've tasted better from Pillsbury. The restaurant was so cold that your food became cold immediately. My husband's chicken fajita omelet has very little chicken in it and it was tasteless. We will not be going back. Hubs and I had breakfast/lunch at Biscuits Cafe in Surprise today and it was a truly great experience. I had pancakes, eggs over medium and bacon. The pancakes were great and I'm picky, the eggs were indeed over medium and the bacon was crisp. So often I have been to places where the iced tea is more like water. Today, it was nice to have a well steeped glass of iced tea. The real stuff, not the crap that comes out of a fountain machine. My hubs had the California Club that had actual carved turkey, crisp bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce, Swiss cheese on a hoagie roll. Along with that, he had the creamy chicken and wild rice soup. He said his lunch was fantastic. Portions are also generous. The decor is lovely and inviting, giving an air of feeling like home. Ashley was our server and she was so sweet, very respectful and quickly returned with whatever we asked for. Don't let the road construction keep your from visiting this new establishment!
