We went to Village Inn last weekend for breakfast never disappointed with their breakfast. I got the garden veggie skillet with turkey sausage added, and it was SO good! Everything was cooked perfectly, and it was presented beautifully. I enjoyed every single bite and even had enough to take home leftovers! We tried to give Village Inn a second chance for breakfast despite our "in person" nightmare and another "rough" delivery via DoorDash. We can honestly say this is the VERY LAST time we will order Village Inn from their location on Grand Ave in Surprise. Where to start? My wife's VIB showed up without her three (3) buttermilk pancakes and has bad fruit (pineapple). My scrambled eggs were cold, hash browns were soggy and oversalted, and missing a sausage (supposed to be four; not three). The sourdough toast is just...meh. I am really sad to report this $31 breakfast brought $0 quality! We were hopeful Village Inn would have changed their behavior regarding service and quality but they have shown us they have not. Therefore, Village Inn, you have lost our business indefinitely. More importantly, if I could remove the tip the DoorDash driver, I would for his non-response to our pancake notification. A $3.61 + 25% off is not really a resolution for poor service from the business or driver. For good measure, I will be posting this review to Yelp as well. I will actively discourage customers from ordering from this business. It lacks value, presentation, and taste. read more

We decided to come in this Saturday evening because we saw there were a lot of pies here. This is a classic neighborhood diner with everything you'd expect for a diner plus they have a large assortment of pies. We ordered some dinner, then we all ordered a slice a pie. Village Inn is one of our standby places, and it is consistently good. On our last visit, our server mentioned that they had an electrical fire in the kitchen earlier that day. We were amazed that everything appeared normal, no fire odor or mess, and it was business as usual despite the disaster that had happened earlier. For anyone who remembers Bakers Square, here's her sister! We had a Bakers Square in California 20+ years ago and we're sad when it closed. Just learned Village Inn is a sister company with the exact same pie we loved all those years ago, so imagine our surprise to learn we have this restaurant so close to us. Stopped by and picked up some Caramel Pecan Silk Supreme & Lemon Supreme pie - nostalgic, delicious, good as ever. Also learned they have specials - $5 burger Monday, $9 sandwich on Tuesday, free pie with an order on Wednesday and $5 2-2-2 Thursday! Need I say more. Customer service was great. Came to this location to get a "To Go Order", yeah just based off of my very brief customer service experience this is definitely not a place if you're "Not Local" to put it simply. The outside definitely presents itself as a down home comfy local spot. The inside definitely filled with local customers, as you can tell it is one of their favorites. The ambiance and food seems like comfort home cooking. This is about where the wonderfullness stops. The hostess, obviously could tell I'm not from around there or maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, just simply could not be nice or even fake a pleasantry if her life depended on it. Waiting in seated area, oh yeah the company of the locals was the same way as one even "Tissed" me as she looked at me up and down, but this was the same attitude as the hostess so oh well. When my order finally came up, I even smiled and held out my hand, she walked right by me ignorring me (knowing it was mine) and simply put the bag on the table. I commented "Oh wow okay have a good day"... I informed my wife as I got home, "Honey I found a place looks like it cooks great food, but they obviously don't like non-locals lets just leave it at that".... My recommendation, if your local, then yeah give it a try they will enjoy your company. If your let's say "Not local", then simply keep on driving. read more

We waited 45 mins for a table of 7. It was not busy at all. They sat 6 tables in front of us and then all of a sudden within our 45 min time frame that the kitchen told the front of the house to stop seating because the kitchen hen is backed up. Literally announced it. This is a horrible first time experience and will not be coming back. We were so excited. Visited this location after my husband's Doctor appointment. We were hungry and trying to figure out where to stop for a bite and BINGO! What not? We were seated quickly and our server was friendly and helpful. It was a bit late for breakfast but we ordered breakfast Eggs, toast, potatoes. Just what the doctor ordered. Visited 6/24/2024 We visited twice today. Breakfast was Excellent. Food and serving size was well worth the very reasonable prices. We came back for dinner and my lady had a Patty Melt on Rye. Only 3 stars. I had The slow roasted Turkey Dinner. The stuffing was tasty and filling and the Turkey was tender and moist. Potatoes and Gravy was also tasty. My only complaint was my Side Order of Corn was a Joke. Only about two bites on a side plate and they charged $3.00 for it. Ridicules price to charge for such a small portion. Was a couple weeks ago for breakfast. It was about 9am give or take. The Male waiter had a bad attitude problem we saw right away. He was the only Male waiter there. He sat us down and you could tell he hated being there. I went to the bathroom and my GF ordered for me. The breakfast special eggs sunny side up and hot tea. We have been together a long time and she knows what I wanted and how I eat my eggs. First off, I get hot water no teabag. I told the waiter, he told me that's what I ordered. First off, MORE ON, I did NOT order that my GF did as I was in the bathroom and I told her hot tea. Eggs come and they are over NOT up, again your most useless employee said that is how I ordered it. AGAIN, i did not place the order my GF did and I told her what to order and she knows that is the ONLY way I order eggs. He asked if I wanted them up and i said don't worry about it. 10 minutes later he brings 2 more eggs sunny side up. NO way I would eat them I would suspect this guy may have done something to that food. I will NEVER go back. I even left a $7.00 tip on a 18.00 order, no thank you at all. Should have been ZERO !!! Monday is $5.00 burger day. The burger is great. My husband's onion rings were hot and crispy. Just the way he likes them. My frys were just ok. Needed to be left in the fryer a little longer. Service was great. Our waitress, Dee, was great. I ordered the cherry pie. Worst I've ever had. Soggy crust and over sweet canned cherry pie filling. Hubs and I arrived for lunch yesterday. Place was pretty dead with maybe 4-5 tables being used. We were sat in Charity's section. Well sad for us. You are sitting in front of the kitchen area and get hear all the foul language from the kitchen and even better you get to sit in front of the table the employees and manager were using for social hour. Our waitress spent more time talking to the other waitress and the female manager at the employee table behind us. I did not enjoy hearing the female manager talk about someone spitting in someone's else face while I was trying to eat and rattle on about their worst experiences with guests as our drinks weren't refilled and our table wasn't checked on. This was such a delicious surprise! This was our first time visiting Village Inn and what a great experience! From the service, to the food...everything was great! I ordered the chicken cordon blue crepes were outstanding - a ton of filling, big chunks of chicken and ham....hollandaise sauce was great, and the hash browns were nice and crispy but soft on the inside. My husband really enjoyed his club sandwich. And it had real sliced turkey breast, crispy back, and a ton of meat! His fries were nice and crispy as well. The bonus was on Wednesday, they have "Free Pie Day" so with the purchase of an entree and drink, you get a free slice of pie! First time visiting a Village Inn. We walked here by chance because we needed somewhere to spend time while getting tires replaced on our car nearby. What a perfect place for spending time. Great menu options and I LOVE the option to have a pancake as your bread choice with a meal. There is nothing I hate more than paying full price for a plate of only pancakes. Husband and I both found favorable items to order. Food was tasty! Interior was clean and comfortable the waitresses were very personable and attentive. No rushing involved and there are tvs in view to keep your attention, if needed. Food was a good price for the quality of food. We'll likely return again, just for fun morning out. Haven't been to the village inn in a while. Went with a girlfriend tonight for dinner. I had a half Rueben Sand and a small dinner salad. Waitress wasn't sure if they had vinegarette dressing? So I said if not then ranch. When the sandwich came the corned beef was very dry and very the corned beef was very sparse. I didn't taste the 1000 island dressing. The food was not good. I ordered the biscuit and gravy. The biscuits were so hard I could not even cut through them with the knife. The hash browns were so dry not even ketchup helped.
