Delicious cookie! Great vibe! If you want to find a yummy little bakery in Surprise, I would would recommend Boyer Bakery. This maple syrup pancake sugar cookie hit the spot for a guilty pleasure after a good workout at the gym!

Chocolate granola - Love the creamy chocolate flavor. The chewy granola makes it healthy, yes. ;) Cranberry with white chocolate frosting - Real cranberries. The frosting seemed to have coconut in it. Almond croissant - Great almond paste in the middle with a nicely homogenous texture. Had sliced almonds on top. Red velvet with cream cheese frosting - Sweet and tasty.

The cafe itself is super cute. It was a bit busy but I was able to snag a table. My drink was ready by the time I was done ordering! There's not a lot of vegetarian options for food- I only saw a hummus veggie wrap. They do have New York bagels and cream cheese- the bagel is huge and they are generous with the cream cheese.

Cute place! It would be even better if there were places to sit outside. I ordered an eggnog scone and a butter pecan scone and a pumpkin spice latte. The scones are soft, flaky, and not dry! Before I left, I also bought sourdough bread. All of it was lovely. The lady who rang up my bread, was genuinely nice and engaged in conversation with myself and my friend.

Stopped in today for pastries - the place was packed! I love that they've expanded into the space next door. My chocolate chip banana muffin was good, though I could barely taste any banana. My husband really enjoyed his pistachio chocolate croissant - said it was excellent! We also grabbed a monster cookie bar and a rice crispy treat, but both were just okay. Prices are average, service was excellent, and the interior is beautifully decorated. But we'll stick to just the breakfast treats next time.

The line was pretty long today but moved decently. I got a pop tart and bagel and this was my first time trying the bagel. I was not told that the bagel needed to be picked up next store at the cafe when I ordered. Good thing I was with my sister and she told me. Would be nice for them to tell you that at the counter in case it's your first time or you're not a regular... the pop tart was really good but the filling was a little dry for my taste.

Always love coming here for a cup of coffee to have while working, catching up with a friend over lunch, or coming on the weekend to grab breakfast with my family. The hospitality is spot on and the case variety ensures there is something for everyone! It dos get crazy and loud on the weekend so bring your patience. Everyone behind the counter is always friendly and patient.

Good pastries. I thought the best one was the chocolate oat bar. The red velvet Blondie was tasty with the sweet cream cheese frosting on the top. The almond croissant had an almond paste filling. The cranberry white chocolate Blondie one seemed to have a little orange flavor in it.

Peanut butter and jelly pop tart, and a lucky charm latte

I have been wanting to try this bakery like forever it consistently comes up as one of the best bakeries in Arizona and judging from the reviews, it looks like it would be pretty good. Well The Boyer Bakery did not disappoint, although I only sampled one thing which was the pop tart. I devoured a peanut butter and grape jelly one and it was like having a adult peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but in a way better way. I also had the latte of the month which was a lucky charms latte, which was pretty good. I have not been able to get out to this bakery. I live 45 minutes away, but due to a local appointment I was able to stop by. I'm glad I did. I would recommend it to anyone interested in memorable pastries. Can't vouch for the sandwiches but they look pretty good too. Maybe next time when I get back this way in a few years

I came to this place because it kept coming up as a great coffee spot that wasn't too far from me. I did notice that this was one of three different Boyer establishments and it seems like they have quite a reputation. I came very early and there was a line almost out the door. I ordered the brown sugar shaken espresso and was very happy with that flavors. I was feeling a bit hungry so decided with a savory option and tried the bacon and cheese quiche. They have lots of tables and a large space to hang and enjoy your cup of coffee. Great options and amazing sweet treats!

I seriously need an intervention. I come here at least once when I'm in town and I make sure I don't come when they are closed lol cause that is a bummer. Again, I usually get the same thing. That everything bagel sandwich and iced caramellows. Plus I also get a few scones and bakery items. I don't walk out of there for less than $50 lol. That everything bagel sandwich is probably the best in town. I've mentioned it before I get it without the ham because it's not my favorite. But they put plenty of bacon cheese and egg on it. The bagel is a very good size and most often times I share this with a family member because it's that big. I had visited twice during my visit to Arizona. One time it was wrapped in the foil paper wrapping and the second time it was wrapped in the brown almost parchment paper like wrapping. I don't know if they ran out of the foil one or are they switched products but the foil one definitely keeps the bagel hotter longer. That is important to me when I am driving back to my house. Service is always very friendly and helpful especially patient because there are so many choices in there. It takes a few minutes to focus and place an order. A nice casual relaxed café vibe. They have some retail items as well. I came after 9 AM and a small line was already forming to the door. There were quite a few people also in a bike club milling about which is a little annoying as they were trying to piece together tables, and then the group of them kind of stood in the middle of the restaurant. But whatever. Can't wait to come back.

Everything tastes amazing from this family owned & run bakery! From their signature frosted sugar cookie to their foot long poptart (Saturdays only). Their coffee creations are so delicious! You will not be disappointed in anything you get at The Boyer Bakery!

A West Valley Gem Packed with Flavor, Charm, and Plenty to Discover…read more If you've ever driven past that bright pink building on the corner of 101st and Grand Avenue in Sun City and wondered, "What's in there?" let me save you the suspense: it's the New York West Bakery, and it's absolutely worth pulling over for. In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.

Update: June 2026 The new owners have expanded into more of…read morea café than a bakery, and a fusion one at that since you can get Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, tamales, and traditional breakfasts. I love that they added outdoor seating with cheery umbrellas and have planted trees to provide additional ambiance and shade, although the highway noise will always be problematic. The inside is spotless and while I was there a friendly staffer was keeping it that way by energetically mopping. Sadly, the St. Joseph's pastry I had had a tough not flaky or crisp shell, but the ricotta filling was light and good. I was so looking forward to the poppy seed bread but when I got it home and cut into it, the filling was not spread out throughout the bread and there wasn't much of it. The bread itself was not tear apart tender, but dry. I saved it by slathering butter on it and lightly toasting it, but that shouldn't have been necessary. For the prices, everything should have been top notch or marked down and labeled as day-olds. I'm curious about the breakfast and lunch café options, so I'll probably go back to give them a try, but note that the prices have increased by more than a few cents per item since the 2025 someone else posted, so check for the latest. Maybe they are trying to do too much and should limit the variety and be known for a few super delicious items that are always fresh and superior to what you could get in a supermarket. Having a few signature items and being the go-to place during special holidays would help define them, and please, please FRESHNESS is crucial--maybe the products are just drying out more because we're in AZ, but I'm not the only one mentioning dried out items.

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!

They had already put away half of their gelato and baked goods in the cabinet. I understand closing time is at 10:30, but if you still have almost half an hour left, I'm sure there are customers that are gonna come in and buy things. There were three parties of people that walked in while we were in there and then sitting out on the really nice patio. But what really makes this place special is their mission. They hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively invest in the community -- from vendor markets to hosting events like their upcoming 5K. You can feel that purpose woven into everything they do. We tried one of their themed drink flights (the Sweet Heart menu was adorable -- Love Potion, Love Struck, To The Moon & Back... so cute). The presentation in the little mason jars was fun and picture-worthy. Flavor-wise, they leaned sweeter than my personal preference, but still enjoyable and perfect if you love flavored lattes. They offer plenty of milk options, including non-dairy, which I appreciate. Bakery - vegan and gluten-free options clearly labeled. I grabbed the lemon scone (vegan + GF). It was good! I'm personally more of a vegan-but-not-gluten-free girl, so texture-wise it's not something I'd specifically crave again -- but I absolutely appreciate that they create inclusive options. My friend had the cinnamon roll and was happy. They also have a small retail section with mugs, shirts, local honey, and little gift items, which adds to the community feel. Overall, this isn't a hyper-trendy, third-wave coffee aesthetic spot -- it's something better. It's purpose-driven, inclusive, and clearly loved by the neighborhood. Not a five-star flavor experience for me personally, but an easy four stars for what they stand for and the impact they're making.
