Boyer Cafe is such a staple! As is their other locations. Every time I go, everything is always top tier and so delicious. Their pastry counter is always full, a ton of amazing food options, and absolutely delicious coffee and other fun drinks. My go to is always the maple brown sugar shaken espresso which is the perfect balance of sweetness and espresso. I also typically get their cinnamon rolls (such a steal for size and price!) and the cookie butter s'more's bar. I hope one day they open a location in Glendale or Phoenix cause they are just that dang good! However, I am more than happy to make the drive because their coffee hits the spot. Fair warning - they are usually really busy (around the 8-11am window) from my experience. Be prepared to wait. It's worth it!

The Boyer Cafe is decked out for the season and has some special holiday drinks, and of course their regular pastries are always delicious. My favorite is the almond croissant since other places are not usually as generous with the filling so there are plenty of bites without any filling, but Boyer's does not disappoint and they really know how to make a proper croissant dough as it is perfectly flaky and the layers are tender and buttery. It's nice to be able to sit outside too, even if Bell Rd makes it pretty noisy. I wish they would do away with the plastic straws and plastic cups though, and although there is a loyalty program you can't bring your own cup and get a discount like you can at the big chain coffee shop, and they'e do well to take a page from that book to help ensure our health and that of our planet.

So yummy! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious! I also got a small coffee which was very good. The overall ambience in this place reminded me of a little French bistro and the staff was super friendly. They also have clean bathrooms and it seemed to be very popular on a Wednesday afternoon. I also loved that they had seating outdoors. Overall, I was really pleased with my experience here.

Mocha, Vanilla Iced Latte and a blueberry muffin along with a plain bagel and cream cheese. The muffin was excellent.

Good coffee and the best pastries we've had in our visits around the area. Nice shop with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Good coffee options and seemed like a popular place.

I love this little spot, perfect place to sit outside and enjoy. There is a lot of inside seating but it is close together and noisy because it's always busy but it's because the food and service is so good, I haven't tried anything I don't like

The pastries and bagels here are so good! There's a reason why there's a line out the door. Fortunately, it's moves relatively fast. Unfortunately, that means that seating may fill up quickly, so plane to arrive early!

Second time trying this local cafe, which seems to be quite popular. There aren't a ton of great choices for local, fresh bakeries with the offerings of this cafe in this area so I have it 2 chances. Unfortunately this place is very average on almost all fronts. I went with a chocolate croissant, breakfast sandwich and coffee. The croissant was a bit bready, not that expected flaky light croissant, and the ratio of chocolate was off. The breakfast sandwich was good, I actually enjoyed the English muffin bread but in it's entirety, it wasn't anything special that I'd return for. Coffee tasted burnt, it definitely isn't a craft coffee spot, but I don't think it is trying to be either. Service was good, although it probably took 8-10 minutes for our coffee and food which seemed a bit long. Some nice window and outdoor seating and overall a nice atmosphere.

First time coming in, staff was very friendly and patiently waited. When ordering I asked for suggestions and they were able to provide me with some. I went with the chicken salad croissant and coconut macaroon latte AND IT WAS SUGAR FREE. Big win! Usually with more "local" cafés they dont offer sugar free other than vanilla. Super happy they could and the coffee was very good too. If you like the taste of coffee but some sweetness, order the coconut macaroon latte!! Another highlight is of course the sandwich. It had perfect amount on the croissant. The croissant wasn't super flacky but frankly I liked it this way better, it didn't go all over the place. Good flavors and a good ambiance!! DEFINITELY coming back to try more

This Cafe is a must-do. The counter service was patient and amazing. Options for seating inside or outside on the patio, with family friendly vibes. The food and drinks were enjoyable. My friend did the Chai tea latte and the ham and cheddar croissant. I had a classic Cafe au last and the crustless spinach feta quiche. I would do it again.

Wow so good. This is my new favorite cafe spot. The food and the coffee were so good and fresh. If you order in it's served on plates. A cozy spot to catch up with a friend, work and read a book.

This was my first time trying this actual location. It was busy just before 10 AM but I was able to enter the line and order quickly. I always get a couple scones and the caramel iced latte. I also love their breakfast sandwich on everything bagel minus the ham. Service is usually fast and friendly. I like this location a little better because you can see the bakery case first before you order so I think that kind of cuts down on the decision-making for customers online. There's tables both inside and outside. And plenty of parking. Love the food and beverage selection. Closed on Sundays.

The coffee here was delicious and the price was fairly decent. I wasn't a fan of sandwich but I would for sure be back for some more coffee. They get very busy and they are super friendly. They do take a while but it's worth it. They had lots of pastries to choose from and overall it was a great experience. They have lots of parking as they are in a small shopping plaza. Give them a try

A West Valley Gem Packed with Flavor, Charm, and Plenty to Discover…read more If you've ever driven past that bright pink building on the corner of 101st and Grand Avenue in Sun City and wondered, "What's in there?" let me save you the suspense: it's the New York West Bakery, and it's absolutely worth pulling over for. In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.

Update: June 2026 The new owners have expanded into more of…read morea café than a bakery, and a fusion one at that since you can get Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, tamales, and traditional breakfasts. I love that they added outdoor seating with cheery umbrellas and have planted trees to provide additional ambiance and shade, although the highway noise will always be problematic. The inside is spotless and while I was there a friendly staffer was keeping it that way by energetically mopping. Sadly, the St. Joseph's pastry I had had a tough not flaky or crisp shell, but the ricotta filling was light and good. I was so looking forward to the poppy seed bread but when I got it home and cut into it, the filling was not spread out throughout the bread and there wasn't much of it. The bread itself was not tear apart tender, but dry. I saved it by slathering butter on it and lightly toasting it, but that shouldn't have been necessary. For the prices, everything should have been top notch or marked down and labeled as day-olds. I'm curious about the breakfast and lunch café options, so I'll probably go back to give them a try, but note that the prices have increased by more than a few cents per item since the 2025 someone else posted, so check for the latest. Maybe they are trying to do too much and should limit the variety and be known for a few super delicious items that are always fresh and superior to what you could get in a supermarket. Having a few signature items and being the go-to place during special holidays would help define them, and please, please FRESHNESS is crucial--maybe the products are just drying out more because we're in AZ, but I'm not the only one mentioning dried out items.

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!

They had already put away half of their gelato and baked goods in the cabinet. I understand closing time is at 10:30, but if you still have almost half an hour left, I'm sure there are customers that are gonna come in and buy things. There were three parties of people that walked in while we were in there and then sitting out on the really nice patio.
