I thought it was a good mix, the matcha was good and it definitely is on the sweeter side. I tried the cookie butter matcha which was ok, the mango sticky rice was definitely better. The girls inside were super friendly and we got our drinks in a good amount of time. There's not a ton of seating but there is a lot of two seater tables and a bar! It's decorated so cute and there are also single stall bathrooms!

I'd heard a little rumbling about Birdies Coffee Lounge which sits inside the Palmbrook in Sun City. The views of the golf course are beautiful from here. You can't miss where you need to be with the huge white double doors. Once inside you will see assorted large rooms where wedding receptions, celebrations of life and more may be celebrated. Veer your eyes a little to the left and you'll see where the coffee lounge is which is also a full bar. I was a bit confused at first because it was in a bit of disarray with stools pushed back from the bar and tables covered. A wonderful woman soon came out from the back and when I asked if they were open she stated they were closed until October 18th for remodeling and so other things. I let her know it stated they were showing open online when she quickly apologized. We got to talking and she offered to make me a coffee though options were limited due to the closure. That was so sweet of her. Of course my go to is cold brew which they didn't currently have, but let me tell you she made me the best iced americano I've ever had. With just a splash of half and half and sf vanilla I was in heaven. Even the color was on point. When you know you know. The location again is beautiful and better than I'd imagined before opening that first set of doors. I can't wait to come back when they reopen. So bookmark this spot and come support this local spot. Even through the chaos of their remodel they made us feel so welcome and stopped what they were doing to allow me to purchase my coffee. Peoria seems like a nice place to be, and this is a great representation. It's a tiny coffee shop that exists on the corner of a small street. Great vibes when you walk in, and the staff is friendly and warm. I ordered a short iced latte and waited for the drink to be made. Lotsa folks around getting their day started, or doing some work for the day. The energy was perfect, and my coffee arrived promptly. I gave it a sip and went on my way. The coffee was not bad, but pretty much unremarkable in that regard. I enjoyed it as a sipping coffee, but it was a little too dark on the roast for me. Not their fault, as they're a multiroaster. Overall, I think it's a great place to grab a coffee, and especially if you like flavored drinks! Perhaps a mocha or a vanilla latte would slap!
