Had breakfast at this restaurant this morning. Asked waitress when placing order that I'd like the hash browns crispy on both sides. When breakfast came, they were barely cooked at all. Asked the waitress to take the hash browns back and get them cooked. She took my entire meal and only returned with my eggs when I asked for them to be returned. Several minutes later she returned with the still uncooked hash browns and asked if it was acceptable. I told her "NO'!, but not to bother since my friend and I were done eating! I think this gal was on drugs. I asked her to tell the manager what had gone on, and no one ever came to the table. HORRIBLE service and food quality!!! read more

Most important thing to me: taste. The taste of the food here is meh at best. Just edible. Nothing worth returning for. Feels like all the ingredients are prepared separately then just tossed in together as people order. None of the flavors had married. I have definitely had better biscuits elsewhere. The portions are a bit ridiculous, yet they want to charge you about $2 just to get a 2nd plate so you can share the monstrosity (which, honestly, no healthy person should finish on their own). The fluorescent lighting is very off-putting, the atmosphere feels like a cafeteria. First of all, I don't understand those 5 stars ratings. The food here is definitely not 5 stars worthy. They're alright brunch, with alright service. I've just gone there for the second time today, I don't think I'll be going back unless I absolutely crave for brunch and don't want to go somewhere far. The food there are in pretty big portions, but taste-wise, it gets sickening fast, and they're not over-the-top crazy good. Like I said, 3 stars worth. They lack seasoning and was flavorless, I had to salt/pepper my food. Their hostess are also 3 stars-service, doesn't seem friendly to me, like she's just doing her job. Servers are about the same. Food is always great and very filling, staff has always been friendly with any of the visits. This place does have rushes (especially in mornings) so I think with the location and popularity, it could be bigger. Wait time on a busy morning can be up to a half hour or more and the waiting area isn't big so the line will go outside. read more

Delicious french toast but the worst service I've ever encountered. Waited 20 minutes until the one waitress who was on shift finally came to our table. I had to go up twice to ask if we could order. Once our order was in, we received our food 25 minutes later. In the meantime, chatty Cindy (who we found out was the manager there) sat and chatted with a couple while we continued to wait for water, and service. The food here is always delicious! But the customer service had very much declined in the past 6 months! I have never had employees be so rude towards me consistently. They treat me as if I don't matter, usually even if I just called to ask a question or order over the phone, I get so much attitude. Literally my favorite place for breakfast! I've never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. Their biscuits are melt in your mouth & their sourdough bread is on point too. I usually get the Benedict or the chicken fried steak & it is always tasty! They've even substituted the hash browns for fries for me too! Their sausage gravy is some of the best gravy I've ever had. Pretty good non-descript breakfast spot in an office complex in Sunnyside. I got to sample many items with my party. The Biscuits were excellent. Fluffy and warm. The gravy also was excellent. The worst thing I tried was the waffle, it was very heavy. This place has decent American breakfast. Portions are huge,food is fresh, lots of choices, and the hash browns are great! Service is pretty good and the restaurant appears to be very clean, but if you are looking for unique Portland cuisine you will not find here. This is not a trendy hipster place just a good old breakfast place with yummy food. It is kind of like Denny's, but way better and much nicer, the decor is pleasant. They have a lots of sweet stuff, good coffee and lots of seating. It is great for kids and large groups. We did not have wait too long to get seated and parking was easy because they have a lot. If there's one thing Americans love it's good food in huge quantities. Biscuits certainly delivers this and fast service but not much else. The wait was short considering the amount of people waiting. The wait crowd increased considerably after 9am on Sunday to about a consistent 35-40 people. The cavernous room is almost completely devoid of atmosphere (but that's not really why people come here). The chatter level is high and punctuated with the cries of babies (which there seemed to an abundance of on the Sunday morning I was there). The coffee was a bit on the bitter side which is inexcusable in Portland. On the plus side, the food was delicious, well-prepared, and served lightning fast. Amazing restaurant! Large portions but does not compromise on quality. Everything is homemade even their most delicious corned beef hash. Huge chunks of fresh meat, unlike most restaurants where they add so much fillers like potatoes into the mix and give you little meat. This place was amazing! There was so much food two people can easily share a plate. Place is extremely clean and efficient. Never seen so many wait staff in a small place before. Love love Biscuits. This place is great! Bisquits and their strawberry jam are probably the best things on the menu. I also really like their eggs benedict and many omelets to choose from. First I want to say, biscuits is a hidden treasure. As a child my family and I would come here a lot. It was kind of like our go to place. So, I went yesterday, and oh my gosh. It was great. I got the pick three item on the menu. And I got a huge chocolate chip pancake, eggs, toast and strawberries. It was all amazing. The service is great too. I was here last saturday. This is a chain restaurant and every location tastes different even with the same menu. Clearly this location is the best one i've eaten at. Its just off I-205 which makes it perfect for breakfast before hitting the mall or going to the Met Opera performances on saturday mornings. Prices are reasonable and the food is great. The menu is varied and has a "make your own combo" section too for diners that want a more unusual mix for breakfast. Service can be a bit slow at time, as can the line to get in, but its worth it. I'd been to two Biscuits Cafes elsewhere and so expected a similar experience. No luck. The restaurant lacks the charm of the others I'd visited, and it was not very clean. We were greeted and seated promptly and the hostess was quite friendly. The waitress was friendly as well but did not check on us during our meal and when she brought the bill just slapped it down on the table and walked away. My daughter ordered french toast with mixed berries. The berries were frozen and made the french toast cold, and they were bitter which ultimately made the meal inedible. When the waitress brought the bill she looked at my daughter's plate with berries pushed to one side and half-eaten french toast and didn't say a word. A good waitress would have asked if there was a problem. Clearly she didn't care, and she was gone before we could even bring it up. We went to pay the bill and the cashier didn't ask how the food was so we told her. Clearly she also didn't care and became quite defensive, blaming the supplier of the berries, and told us the berries were frozen not fresh and there was nothing they could do about that and if we didn't want bitter or frozen fruit we should have the strawberries which were fresh. Huh? You're aware this is a problem yet you still serve the bitter berries? And how does any of this relate to good customer service? At the very least she should have apologized for the disappointing experience but instead blamed us for choosing crappy food off of their menu. Very confusing. Had the customer service been better we'd give the place a second chance, but this all just adds up to too many strikes. read more

MADE ME SICK... UPDATED- Do NOT go here. I used to make this cafe a frequent stop for breakfast, however recently they've started skimping on quality and quantity and after complaining (politely) awhile back the (who I assume to be) manager (an elderly lady) has developed a personal grudge against me. Always rude and non-attentive. Last time I ate here I got very sick and suspect my food was tampered with in some way. Very scary! Avoid this place. I am never going back. I used to give this place a high rating, but nobody should fear for their health going somewhere to eat. When you get a waitress that's actually nice and they're not making you sick, the food was actually quite good. (Why I went here in the first place) Thank God I didn't bring friends that day, which I regularly do, I would feel horrible taking them somewhere that'd make them sick. read more
