We used to come here when we lived in Portland, 10 years ago, and it's good to see that things haven't changed. They are still as hood as we remember. The service was friendly and efficient, the menu offered a wide variety, and the food was delicious. My wife had a Biscuit and Gravy, which disappeared without me getting a taste (so we can assume it was wonderful). I had a Meatlovers Omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. The omelet was STUFFED with meat and so good, the hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the biscuit had many flakey layers well complimented by butter and jam. My wife did want to mention the unique "Bacon Flight"; bacon with 5 different sauces. She liked all except the Chipolte sauce, and thought the Parmesan a little odd, but thinks that every breakfast place ought to have such flights of flavor. read more

Haven't been here in over a few years and stopped in for breakfast since we were in the area. We were greeted and seated right away. There was alway a little wait when we used to come so it was nice to be able to get a table as soon as we arrived. Restaurant was clean and service was great! Our waitress was nice and attentive. Have tried ordering through website two different times now and it lets me fill everything out and charges me then sends a second notice it can't except orders and says it will refund me in a couple of weeks, stop Letting us place orders. Just called the restaurant to place and order and was told to call back cause they were too busy. Good or bad thing?? I went here on a Sunday late morning and the place was absolutely packed, but the service was outstanding. Our server, Liz, was exceptionally sweet and somehow managed to give us plenty of attention even though she was juggling a full house. She made us the most delicious Mexican cocoa coffees, which were such a treat. The food was exceptional. I ordered the almond French toast and it was amazing, easily one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in a long time. I went there twice in one week which should tell you all you need to know! I got the cinnamon roll, coffee, and french toast flight then the club sandwich & chocolate coffee the second time. No complaints here. Servers and staff were very nice! The only downside is the restaurant is very warm and if you're like me, You get warm way too fast. But that's fixable. I would like to take a moment to compliment your SE 91st location in Portland, OR. The food was fantastic as per usual, but the coffee was the star of the show for me. Hostess and server Jamilet greeted my party at the door, led us to the table, and served our beverages - which included the best cup of coffee I'd had in a long time! She was prompt and courteous along with the rest of the staff who was involved in our dine-in experience today. Although I was not super hungry this morning, it was my 6 year-old son's idea to come in for breakfast today - and I'm glad we did. We were there last Monday early @ 7: 00 am Table for two. Two other customers in the restaurant during our stay. The waitress was rude and unwelcoming. She just put us at a table without asking a preference. She bought coffee upon request and set them on the opposite side of the table. She took our order and we received fast service of food. Luke warm. Coffee was super hot. Both the cook and waitress were eating. I couldn't tell if they washed their hands. S delivery arrived around the same time. The waitress didn't come back to offer more coffee or ask if things were ok. The cook and waitress were having great conversations in another language . We only got their attention when we got up to pay at the poteum. No check at the table. And lastly that door is extremely heavy and I'm disabled and had a hard time opening. Home for break and decided to visit my go-to American breakfast location at Biscuits Cafe I went on a weekend around 10. Like all Biscuits Cafe there's plenty of seats, and I've never had to worry about waiting for a table. Like usual, I ended up ordering the Chicken Fried Steak. Chicken Fried Steak -This is my favorite dish to order at American Diners. Overall, it was as great as I've remembered. The Chicken Fried Steak was well seasoned and crispy. It has a delicious sausage gravy on top which made for a good combination with the crispy fried steak. Here, their potatoes are actually hash browns unlike other American diners. Eggs can be cooked however you like and this time i choose them to be scrambled. Lastly, the biscuit came with butter and jam! Overall, I am happy to have stopped by Biscuits Cafe again. My wife and I came here for breakfast this morning and we left disappointed. First thing is they guided us to a table that was 3/4" out of level. (Ridiculous!) Then the plastic water cups were very worn and gross looking. For as much as they charge for their food they should at least have clean water glasses. (Actually made of glass.) I ordered Chicken fried steak and eggs which was good but nothing to brag about. The gravy tasted like it came out of a can. (If they say it's homemade I'm calling B.S.) My wife had bacon and eggs that was a joke. The bacon was so shriveled up that they were about as thick as a string bean. To top it off, my $3.50 cup of hot water with coffee flavoring was not once refilled. I never eat at Biscuits and always thought that this was supposed to be top notch. What a joke. The wait staff and the back of the house works hard on making sure that customers don't wait too long. Especially when they look short staffed. I realized I was a bit harsher than needed to be because it was awful for takeaway, but they're okay for dine in. I still think their prices are a bit high and the food was still okay, nothing special. One thing I do like is that they have a rewards program, but they give you a small credit for your birthday. If you look at the sides you can find really good deals on things like biscuits and gravy so that credit actually pays off. The restaurant is very clean and open. The menu boasts some classic entrees but several Biscuit Cafe specialties. I opted for the corned beef hash that comes with two eggs, potatoes and two biscuits. I am shooting for the stars here. Man what a great breakfast joint. Knowing that people are suffering from cabin fever and desperate to get outside. I took a chance. A little avacado here a full serving of red potatoes. The biscuits are to die for. I thought so with a name like Biscuits cafe. So I said I better try one. Well I got two and it was worth the extra calories. Simply devine. Served with warm salted butter and jam. The kielbasa piece was almost a meal itself. Split and grilled just like I like it. Great place for breakfast especially if you are traveling. It's right off 205 near Clackamas. I look forward to our next trip.

The ambiance here is super basic, and not cozy. Even the staff were dressed super basic, all wearing black polos and belts with jeans. Walls are all gray. The vegetables were so watery and had no flavor and were undercooked. The toast automatically had butter on it, and I'm dairy free; no mention of this by the waiter or the menu. Almost no vegan items. They do have some gf items. I saw a cook eat something with bare hands and then proceed to cook without washing them. You're likely to get a better breakfast at even dennys then here. It's also a bit pricey, especially for what it is. Service was quick and friendly. Seems like a speed spot rather than a quality cooking kind of place. They get the job the done. There was a line out the door, it was a Sunday morning around 10am. I guess they must be doing something right with this kind of crowd. If you have your grandparents in town and they have very low food quality standards and want a basic breakfast and want none of the classic Portland charm, creativity, or talent for food, this spot could be for you. read more

After we ordered food came out of the kitchen in about 10 minutes, so that was good. My date ordered off the keep it simple menu, 2 buttermilk pancakes, two eggs over easy and a glass of apple juice. The pancakes were tasty fluffy and yummy and the eggs were perfect. I ordered the avocado benedict with hash browns. The Benedict was very good and a large portion, half I took home. The sauce was not broken and had a light lemony hint to it I very much enjoyed. However the hashbrowns tasted like they had been cooked in stale grease or oil. Yucky. Service after we were eating our breakfasts was good. So the big question is, would we return? To be quite honest I'm not sure I would. read more
