We have driven past this specific location several times and my boyfriend has been dying to try it. We finally decided to give it a shot last night. Pulling into the parking lot we were rather confused because it's not really a parking lot? Every space is for a pick up order, so we went and parked on an alternative street and walked over. We were also then rather surprised when we walked in and realized it is completely self sufficient and you order from a machine and not a person. The combo's didn't really seem like combo's to us and it actually ended up being cheaper to order our "entree" and then a side then do the combo option. My boyfriend got the southern chicken sandwich and I got the 5-piece tenders both with a side of fries. We both agreed that the chicken at other fast food places (Raising Canes & Chick-fil-a) is better quality, but liked the diversity this place had to offer, and by no means was the chicken bad! I actually also got a nice surprise as I was given 7 chicken tenders opposed to 5 but only paid the price for 5! The food was also CRAZY FAST. The eatery's chicken is sourced directly from Colorado family farms, and their bread comes from a Colorado baking company. Even their spices are sourced from a Denver firm. I ordered an original chicken sandwich and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Man, both were incredibly delicious and filling. Fried chicken with the perfect batter might possibly be my favorite thing in the world. Bird call definitely does it right. The Nashville hot chicken comes with hot and super hot options. An awesome place to grab a chicken sandwich! Pretty much every time I'm in the DU area, I grab something at Birdcall whether it's one of their delicious chicken sandwiches or one of their drinks. Birdcall is card only, and has you order at a kiosk. I love how you can customize your order, and add sauces and topping to your liking. The staff is also super helpful and willing to provide details to first time customers (as they did when I walked in with my aunt in August and we were both confused). Combos for your sandwich include a drink, and you can even get chicken tenders in place or fries! They have a good variety of sandwiches, and so far has been the rancher (fried chicken, bacon jam and ranch). The restaurant itself is bright and visually appealing, but it can get super cold and crowded in their small indoor dining room. Ahh Birdcall... my most favorite place to grab a chicky sammie! It only took one time, but I'm hooked! Hands down better than chic-fil-a. I first nEveryone working here was extremely friendly and getting the food was fairly quick. I also like that they have a drive through line and curbside pick up as well, which makes it really convenient. We ordered the original chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun, fries, tater tots, and an organic cucumber soda. We also tried the chipotle bbq sauce, the buttermilk ranch, and the Birdcall sauce. The chicken was juicy and crispy at the same time, and the gluten free bread was so good, which can be hard to find at restaurants. The fries are better than Wingstop fries, especially if you dip them in the buttermilk ranch sauce. :) The tater tots were incredible - not greasy - and they had the tastiest seasoning ever! Lastly, the cucumber soda was so refreshing and not overly sweet. The food was 5/5!! Ditched their superior selection of organic bottled sodas for freaking Coke. Ditched high quality employees for bottom of the barrel folks who will absolutely mess up your order because not only can they barely understand what you're saying, and barely communicate back, but also because they visibly dgaf. Then they raised prices. A chicken sandwich meal will now run you about $17. It's fast food. Absolutely garbage that they increased prices while decreasing selection and service. Also be prepared to wait a solid 10 minutes to receive your (very likely incorrect) order. Been going to Birdcall for quite some time now because it's one of the "healthier fast food options" out there and it truly doesn't exude such an unwelcoming environment and ghetto. Like Taco Bell or I don't know.. waffle house. Birdcall is the shit and always will be, worth it for the price and I want to point out that if you want great service talk to Ashley and Josh. I love the progressiveness of the ordering system here! It's really innovative and let's all the young millenials out there avoid what they hate most, social interaction! Haha. Just kidding, but not really. The ordering system is definitely user-friendly. You swipe your credit card and tap through the menu on a tablet and hit order when you're done. Enter your number and wah-lah, your phone and their giant TV will tell you and countdown time until your food is ready! I ordered their Korean style sandwich which had kimchee, peanuts, and sweet glazed chicken with fries, Sriracha aioli and a small chocolate shake. Damn, that was a satisfying meal. The star of the show for me was the kimchee, I know that's crazy but who would expect such flavorful and straight up good kimchee at a fried chicken spot? The chicken was a tid bit on the dry side but nothing ridiculous. The glaze on the chicken paired with the crunchy tangy kimchee with the nice aroma of the peanuts made it an all together treat! The fries are yummy. Crispy, salty, and dense in all the right ways a fry should be. Wayyy better than any fast food joints fries for sure. Dunk them in that Sriracha aioli and we are talking!!!!! My AWS, Derby, was a great birddog. So when I saw the Birdcall sign I was automatically flying in that direction! Naturally, I thought I would hear a duck whistle when I walked through the front door or something along those lines. When I entered I didn't hear a duck whistle, but I did find myself immersed in some pretty cool technology. First, if you have a credit card you can order and pay without talking to anyone. Pretty cool. Secondly, your wait time is displayed on a giant screen and your food magically arrives in a honeycomb numbered portal. The menus are on big screens, which I found difficult to read, but my vision isn't the best. They do have paper menus available too! They should laminate a few and have them on the tables. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk sandwich, fries, and a water, which was $10.26. The sandwich was on the small side and didn't really speak "jerk chicken" to me. The bun was good and soft. Fries were on point, but I still felt hungry when I left. I will say the salads look super solid and I will try one next time. Also, the breakfast menu and coffee look amazing and will definitely put a dent in Starbuck's business across the way. I like the concept of this restaurant and look forward to trying it again to up its star value. I honestly caught them during a rush and stood up front for at least 6-7 minutes, holding $11 in my hand, before someone asked for my order. Then I had another 6:54 wait after that. The shake guy was slammed as were the fry guy, sandwich guy, drive thru guy, salad guy, stocker guy. You get the idea it was mayhem. It was pretty obvious that I had been waiting for a while so offering a free beverage would have been appreciated. They need to make occasional concessions while working out their kinks. Love Birdcall. It's one of the few spots that always delivers our orders quickly, and is always correct. We love the chopped salad (we add grilled chicken) for a satisfying but reasonably healthy meal. We often order tots and fingers "for the table." To get out fried fix and to have a meal or snack for later. The milkshakes are delicious. My daughter gets the regular sized ones and I get the kid size since that's how our metabolisms work. Food is usually good but reason for review is the staff. One young female in particular (didn't get her name but she's got braces) who has served me multiple times has been incredibly rude and has gotten our order wrong every time. I believe she is the one who took the order and then handed it to us each time. Between scoffing at requests, not speaking clearly/saying things under her breath, general grumpy attitude, not apologizing for incorrect order, I don't want to return to this location. It's hard for my son and I (who have celiacs) to find good food at a decent price. Food: We have tried the gluten free grilled chicken sandwich, gluten free/dairy free chicken nuggets, fries, tots without seasoning, and shakes. Everything we have tried has been delicious. The food always comes out hot and fresh. The chicken is white meat, not pressed meat like other places. I have taken many family members to Birdcall and they are all regulars now too! They have tried a lot of the non-gluten free and have loved it! We never have to wait long, food is almost always ready in less than 15 minutes. The sauces are super yummy and make the meal that much better. Price: Birdcall is super reasonable. My son and I can eat there for under $20 including drinks, sides, kids shake, and a gf bun! Employees: The employees at the Evans Birdcall are amazing. They were so kind stepping out from the kitchen to make sure we were happy. I did my order incorrectly and they helped me correct it. They then went the extra mile using their time to show me how to avoid the mistake in the future and save even more money! They were all working hard to keep the place clean and orders flowing. I saw them check in with all tables (including ours) to make sure everything tasted great! When arriving they greet you, when leaving they wish you well. We don't live close to Birdcall, but we make the drive whenever we feel like chicken. Family favorite! read more

I've been to birdcall several times and have gone to both the Evans location and the Whole Foods location in downtown. I am impressed by the abundance of choices to choose from at Bird Call, and the technology that goes into the restaurant is pretty cool. With that being said, I think there needs to be some improvements with the chicken. I've tried their classic, Nashville hot and their buffalo chicken. One issue I have is that every time I've tried their sandwich, the chicken is dry. I'm not sure why that is happening, but it seems to be a consistent issue I've seen from both locations. Also the classic sandwich doesn't have as much flavor. It seems that Chick Fil A has them beat on both the juicy and taste aspect in the chicken sandwich game. I hope that Bird call can catch up, and beat out the bigger competitors in town, but I don't see that happening yet because their chicken is on the dry side. read more

We tried Birdcall for dinner for the first time tonight and it was so much better than expected! They have a huge selection of fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, and delicious sauces to choose from. We also enjoyed trying all of the different sodas and teas they had to offer. The service was pretty fast but there isn't a lot of room in the building so if its busy and you have to wait for your order, you are kind of in the way. In the same thought, I don't think we'd go during busy hours because you probably wouldn't get a seat. The building was only decently clean but very appealing to the eye. This is my updated review. After my initial review I thought it wasn't fair that I did it with a to go order. Those are never as tasty as when eaten at the restaurant. Since then I've been back 3x. My husband had come here far more times than me, he loves it. And now, so do I. I can't believe i compared this before to...CFA. The chicken here is thicker, fresher, and the sandwich combos are outstanding. My favorite is the deluxe (when I wanna go simple) or the southern (when I want a rich flavor).
