I had a really bad experience my first time, but upon return I was blown away. The managers really do care about making their restaurant great and making sure their customers are happy. You order at kiosks, so there isn't always someone on hand to help you. They do have employees come out and answer any questions from time to time and make sure that everyone has everything they need. Very friendly and welcoming. I got the DELUXE SANDWICH and had my chicken tossed in the Nashville hot sauce. It tasted amazing. The added lettuce was nice. Chicken was breaded nicely and tasted great. The hot sauce had a great kick without killing your taste buds. The FRIES were good. They offer a generous amount. The COOKIES AND CREAM SHAKE was fantastic. Chicken sandwich, Crispy Chicken sandwich, Grilled Chicken sandwich, Classic Chicken Sandwich, Crispy and Spicy chicken sandwich; the list goes on and on and on. You have virtually every kind of sandwich in the US available at the regular fast foods so when my wife suggested to go to Birdcall since she's had her colleagues talk about it a lot lately, I had to check it out (even though she's a vegetarian, her suggestions have always turned out good). So the place at 5 points: Hadn't imagined I'd have a chicken sandwich lunch before heading home to Chicago the same day but here we go. BEAUTIFULLY created space. Felt clean, organized and efficient. They have screens on which you can place your order or you can place your order with the staff at the counter (I'm assuming maybe eventually they want guests to use the monitors to self order). If I had to pick any negative feedback on the ordering system, it would be two things I noticed: a. If you do decide to do a combo, you are forced to choose a drink and a side. (I'm sorry guys if I missed an option that allows me otherwise?) b. Again, maybe I missed this but I wish there was a choice on the sides to kind of control some of the ingredients. I ordered a fries on the side (which BTW where AMAZING) but the salt was a little too much for my taste buds (this is not the restaurant issue but me. I tend to have less salty things to begin with so usually have to tell restaurants to take it easy on the salt). The Food: My wife and our friend had the veggie burger made of crispy tofu. Crispy it was and equally soft. I think they have the tofu down wonderfully. The chicken sandwich I had; the flavors were AMAZING. Great quality meat if you are able to tell the difference (I am). My only pick (and this is just to be nit picky guys), the chicken could be just a bit more moist. I think it was a tad bit dry but again, to keep a chicken breast juicy is not an easy task). The Service: No, this is not a place where you get the exceptional over the top service but what you do get is a breath of fresh air. Folks who are taking pride in this new concept and are really willing to help/work/answer questions and give suggestions. What impressed me was one of the staff members named Dechen; She not only said my name correctly but she said my name correctly as it is said in the original accent my name comes from. THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE. One big thing that sticks out to me and I respect Birdcall for this; I think every single thing they can make compostable, they have INCLUDING THE FORKS AND KNIVES. Ok that is stunning. Some may argue that their pricing may be on the higher side but I would like to caution you; I think their pricing is actually underpriced. Keep in mind you can't compare their pricing to the regular fast food joints where chickens are treated badly, fed unnatural foods to grow plump, etc. The quality of chickens used here is superior. Having the operation here that involves a lot of compostable stuff to keep things sustainable is a HUGE INVESTMENT especially post COVID (or in COVID I guess we are still) where take out has sky rocketed which in turn has made the use of plastics go through the roof. It's about time we humans take personal responsibility and I appreciate this joint helping us do that. I'm back in Denver in 2 weeks and will definitely have Birdcall again. If you want a chicken sandwich, you cannot go wrong with getting Birdcall. This has been a go to takeout for me the last 2 months. I have nothing but positive things to say about "The Chimichurri", "The Rancher Sandwich", "The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich", and "The Deluxe Sandwich". The chicken tenders hit it out of the park also, especially with the Birdcall sauce. I have definitely picked up extra helpings of sauced in my orders to use at home haha. Just alright - I got this takeout last weekend for lunch on Saturday and I really liked the fact that they had it Chik-Fil-A style where the employees wearing masks were bringing the food out instead of having to walk in and get the food yourself. We were in town for a game so we came to this location for lunch. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who was very welcoming and helpful. She took our order and we got on the subject of our home town. Her grandmother lived in our area. She was an unexpected bright spot on our day. She had us sit and said she would bring the order out. On our last night in Denver we wanted something quick and easy to eat. Went to yelp and Birdcall was one of the few places open past 8pm on a Sunday night. My fiancé and I sampled every a bit of every drink. They were all delicious and I wish we had them in Arizona. Staff was nice. My fries were drenched in Salt and cold. All my food was cold, I sat in the parking lot placed my order for curbside pick up to get fresh food, it took less than 5 minutes. I understand why. I was given all the left overs. All my chicken was cold and dry. I was excited to finally try this place. We ordered delivery last night for dinner. Original chicken sammich, chicken parm sammich and the fried tofu sammich with fries all around. Delivery was backed up trying to handle all the quarantine deliveries so our food wasn't terribly warm when we got it, but man was it good. The kids devoured their chicken in no time flat. Their menu has stayed relatively the same since they opened 4 years ago, but the classics are still there. This place is an eye catcher in a neighborhood seeing some changes. The fried chicken is delicious, the ordering method is modern, self explanatory, and innovative. They will display your order in a queue and have you enjoying your food in minutes. They are also developing an app to order ahead of time which is going to be exciting. As a visitor from CA all I can think of when I visited Birdcall was my home fried chicken spots from LA and SD. All which have modern high-tech ordering methods, delicious food and a good vibe feel. So I've been coming here since they opened. The chicken was well fried at first. But...over the last couple of years the chicken has tasted as if the oil was over used. I called the manager to tell her that--as a southerner who grew up frying chicken at home and had ordered their chicken numerous times over the years--that the oil was either 1). Old, or 2). Overused. I was "assured" that the oil is changed out regularly. She (the manager) was "sorry" for what "I was tasting," (as if I was mistaken?) which, in the end, felt like a total dismissal of 40+ years of "cultural" knowledge because she'd work in the industry for 14 years. I'm glad for her. But....when someone from the culture call you up with some advice (and not asking for a refund for the chicken that tasted like skid marks" you would think that someone would take your advice.
