    Nashville hot chicken
    Rohit G.

Visiting Boulder and decided to stop by for a quick bite. I got the extra hot Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and I thought the quality of the ingredients was high. The chicken was crispy and had just the right amount of heat (my friends seeing my sweat would maybe disagree, but I liked the spiciness). The chicken wasn't overly oily either, so it won't leave you feeling like garbage afterwards. What lowered my rating for this place was that while the sandwich tasted good, it was overly simple and relatively small (it's just bread, a pretty thin chicken patty, and a few pickles). This by itself would have been fine, but because the sandwich was a whopping $7.50, I was hoping for more. I did like the feel of the restaurant. It's clean, modern, and efficient. They even have a screen overhead displaying a countdown clock for your order on when it will be ready. Overall, good place for a quick bite if you want a simple and small meal, but on the more expensive side for what is given.

We had a chance to eat here twice and loved it both times! The surroundings are fun and fresh and it's a huge hit for kiddos. My son said the cookies and cream milkshake was his "favorite milkshake ever." The chicken tenders and sandwiches were all great and the staff was attentive and gifted our son some sweet orange shades

It was a quick trip for a quick lunch on our way up to Estes Park. The credit card scanner wasn't working properly, but the sweet woman behind the counter was so accommodating and helped me order quickly and was so kind. The food was hot, the price tag was fair, no complaints on our end!

First time trying a Birdcall before, honestly never heard of one but that's not too surprising because I live in West Virginia. Food was amazing! I got the regular chicken sandwich, side salad, and peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake. Everything was very delicious! I'd come here every day if I lived close! The only problem I have with Birdcall is the pricing. The pricing of the food is a little outrageous. I wish it was more affordable so more people could enjoy. Besides the pricing problem everything else was good! One thing I did think was super cool about Birdcall was how you order on a screen and then they put your food in a little cubical once it is ready for pickup.

Gluten free menu provided by the awesome staff at the Boulder, Pearl St Birdcall!

This was our first time at Birdcall. The online ordering and pickup process was seamless. On top of that, when we had been grocery shopping days prior, the staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions regarding gluten and dairy free options. The grilled chicken with a gluten free bun (amazing bun!) and the chicken tenders are seriously to die for -- we can't wait to come back!!

However, there were people sitting on their outside patio. Hardy folks, I guess! My friend was nursing a sore tummy, so she just had some grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. She loves everything she's had here. It was my first time. I ordered the chicken bowl with yakisoba noodles. It was lukewarm, but that's fine for me. I think they must have microwaved it because it was steamier as you ate down the bowl. The veggies were crisp, the noodles perfect, the chicken was tender. It was spiced at what I'd call a medium level, and quite yummy. My friend then ordered their vegan chocolate pudding, which we shared. Yummy and light. My one big criticism is that they charge $4 for iced tea. I questioned it and the cashier was kind of snippy about it, but the customer behind me approached after I dispensed my tea and said she agreed it's too expensive. The meal was appropriately priced and there is plenty of food, but the drinks? C'mon. It's worth maybe $2.50. They really should reevaluate that. It's the main reason that I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5. The other people who work there were nice and helpful. I didn't grab a fork but the server who brought my bowl cheerfully went and got me a fork and napkin. Very nice. It's obviously popular, it filled up as we sat, with quite a variety of people, from babies to seniors. I might go back, but perhaps next time I'll just get water. I hope they don't charge for that!

Prior to entering, we heard it may be run by a cult, however, we did not look into it as it was quite literally the only place on all of Pearl street open for breakfast other than Snooze which we were banned from as my sister as meeting friends there. We were a bit skeptical the whole dining process but the food and drinks were honestly delicious. We got the iced mint mocha which was so delicious, green tea, yogurt parfait, breakfast sandwich, and spinwich. All of the ingredients were fresh, well prepared, and tasty. Once we left, we read about the background history and some of the values of the twelve tribes associated with the Yellow Deii. Had we known the tribe and beliefs it is linked to, we likely would not have eaten here.

I've been here many times in a variety of ways--sat at the bar, at tables with friends and by myself, both inside and outside, and even experienced the large farm table prix fixe menu, which was fantastic. My experiences have consistently been great--the food, service, and atmosphere have always been top-notch. Tonight, however, was my first disappointing visit. I ordered the root vegetable bruschetta, which was very good. I also ordered the butternut squash penne pasta, a dish I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it was extremely spicy. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if it was just a heavy hand in the kitchen, but it was not something I could eat. I mentioned it to the waiter, who didn't have an answer, so I simply asked for a to-go container. Since I couldn't eat it, I later gave the container to a homeless woman sitting nearby with her grocery cart. On my way out, I spoke with someone at the door who brought over the manager. The manager asked if he could see the dish, so I opened the container for him. He then asked if he could taste it and reached in, picked up a noodle, and tried it, saying he didn't notice anything unusual. He also wasn't aware of any changes to the recipe. I suggested that if the dish is now spicy, it might be helpful to note that on the menu so guests know what to expect. What left me disappointed wasn't just the dish itself, but how the situation was handled. There wasn't an offer to replace the meal or provide an alternative, which would have gone a long way. As someone who is only about six months into living in Colorado and a new business owner in the area, I often refer places I believe in. Tonight left me questioning whether I will continue to recommend Leaf based on how this was handled, though I'm hopeful that by tomorrow morning I may feel differently. That said, based on my many past positive experiences, I still believe Leaf is a great restaurant. I just hope this was an off night and that a little more attention is given to both consistency in the kitchen and how concerns are handled moving forward.

We'd already had dinner at home and stopped in for a drink and dessert. I mentioned this to the server, and from that point on the experience went downhill. I ordered a Happy Hour Cabernet Sauvignon, which was clearly about half the size of a regular glass. My husband ordered a ginger beer, but it tasted like sparkling water with syrup settled at the bottom, which he didn't notice until the end of the glass. My son's dessert was also priced $2 higher than what was listed on the menu. The service overall was incredibly lackluster. It was a disappointing experience at what has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Boulder.

There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon

My husband and I were only in Boulder for a few days but we went back a second time since we knew it would be safe for me and we both enjoyed it. I had a pork chop off the specials menu the first night and the vegan cauliflower steak the second night. Loved both, but especially recommend the cauliflower steak. Keep in mind it's tapas style, so your food will show up in the order it shows up, not all at once. Getting second drinks was a little slow as the place got more crowded, but the drinks were good. Non alcoholic cocktail options looked good too -- my husband ordered something off that list but subbed in regular alcohol and was very happy with the results. If you have strong opinions about wine, you might want to google the wine list ahead of time; the wine menu lacks descriptions and the waiters were a little less fluent in pairing recommendations there.

Maybe rightly so as their specialized ingredients are harder to get. We sat inside this time though we used to go mostly mid summer and sit out. The patio was jam full last night so we ate inside where it was quite empty early evening during happy hour. My husband had the happy hour special of the evening, a very large serving of large mussels with grilled sourdough and a lucious broth. We also had some small plate tapas and I mostly grazed those. I love Bocarones and they do it so well though for me last night, the peppers were a bit too spicy. But I got the majority of the little fishies, my husband the peppers.. We also had the tortilla papas and the charred Hazel Dell mushrooms which were excellent. The little salad topping on the tortilla was full of specialty greens like fennel fronds and pea shoots. The mushrooms has a warm egg yolk on top to stir into the dressing which was tasty. We finished with their flan which was as good as my Spanish born neighbor made in my youth. I had a very nice tea with it. I was originally going to knock off a star for pricing but honestly, I don't think they have much option these days. But sadly we will go less frequently in the future.
