They claim that they have stopped service, yet they have now billed my account $99.00 twice. The first time this happened, I called and asked about it. They reversed the charges and assured me that it would not happen again. Today, May 3rd, I was billed another $99.00. I have been attempting to contact their offices with no response. Had some work done under the house, the sales person said I had rats under the house but no evidence. Added pest control to the contract. They never charged for the pest control so when I finished paying off the work they hit me with a $390 bill for pest control. I talked to them and we agreed I would make payments to pay it off and the next month I get a call from a collection agency. Beware of this company they are shady. read more

This is by far the most incompetent, unprofessional and unethical company that I have ever dealt with. Not sure if this company is in the process of changing its name but I signed a contract with BioShield to get rid of Norwegian tree rats. In the process, I was suckered into getting an annual exterminating contract. BioShield was to remove/replace moisture barrier, remove/replace installation and seal entry points. The day before they came, we had a plumber inspect underneath our house because the company rep said that we had moisture under it when he did initial inspection. The moisture was due to lack of a gutter and no leaks were found. The next day, their employee, driving a BioGuard van, goes under the house and starts removing the moisture barrier. In the process, he knocked over a piling that had a pipe situated on top of it and broke the pipe. To put blame on the customer, first they said that the moisture barrier was on top of the pipe; not true. Then they said that the pipe was too short. True, the pipe was not up to today's city codes, but more than likely did when it was installed many years ago. Regardless, there was nothing wrong with it before they went under the house. They came back 3 weeks later to complete the work. We had it inspected and discovered that half the insulation and moisture barrier were missing, and they used foam insulation to seal entry points. After many, many phone calls, they sent their own inspector. He told my husband he'd hear from someone the next day. We heard nothing and 2 weeks later I filed a BBB complaint. A week later, another tech came to complete the job. I was hopeful it would be done properly this time as the tech had a roll of wire mesh to use to seal entry points. When he was done, he said that the contract only specified 300 SQ FT of insultation and he was instructed not to install any. Nothing in my contract, nor the sales rep, stated anything about the amount of insulation to be used. What kind of a company would leave someone's home 1/2 insulted? Oh... an unethical one. Had the house inspected again and found that the wire mesh was there just for looks and was not used, but they did spray more foam insulation in the entry points. Foam insulation to rats is like candy. They just dig and chew right threw it. Might as well have nothing. To boot, they sent someone out to exterminate the house without an appointment. He just showed up at the door one afternoon. What kind of company does this? Not a professional one. A professional company always makes appointments. It's called common courtesy. The BBB wasn't much help. It's hard to resolve issues when dealing with an amoral company. The VA Attorney General really needs to investigate this company. I finally sent them a check for the full amount of the exterminating contract just to get on with my life. We hired another company to do what BioGuard/BioShield could not/would not do. Job was completed within a few days, not months, and was done properly. I know because we had it inspected. It's a lesson learned; expensive lesson. At long last the front office ineptitude and rudeness has overwhelmed all positives. They've been informed verbally and in writing that their service/abuse is ended, but the office staff seems to be stupid in addition to its other shortcomings, because they keep informing me of service dates. Called today to speak with a Manager and I was transferred to the office manager which I wanted a Manager higher up, she got rude with me. My claim was raised up to their "COO/Branch Manager" - during several email communications, here are some of the things I was told..... "A service company is not responsible to hold your hand through life. That is why only adults are allowed to enter contracts. There are no expectations for "guidance" from any other company, why would we be any different? You are free to contact anyone you wish. It will do no good for you. Nothing wrong or illegal has happened. It is only on your part that is not upholding our Agreement. I even offered a reduced rate in good faith, not because I feel we did anything wrong, but as a good gesture for customer relations. I see now you are not trying for a peaceful resolution but rather to get something for free. I guess the old adage " no good deed goes unpunished" is fitting in the case. You were never "misguided" by anyone but your own thoughts and schemes. Shame on you for it. Then you dare claim we have "poor customer service"? Because of your unwillingness to cooperate or take any responsibility in this matter, I am canceling my offer. You are now being charged the entire $105.00 and if it is not paid I will send you to a collection agency. As soon as I suspected there was a pest issue I reached out, and within an hour I had a team of professionals at my door carefully inspecting my home. They were thorough, located the issue, discussed treatment plans at competitive prices, explained how they would effect my pets (extremely important, and their products are safe), and how to prepare for the treatment. They were back as soon as we had the house ready. Their products are not harsh on kids/pets and they work quickly. Lundy, Mark, and Joe gave me my home back and I could not be more grateful or pleased with the level of communication and customer service. All-around excellent experience. This company provided HORRIBLE service over several months. The technician would come and just spray wherever he wanted and did not do an initial inspection to determine the problem. I hired Bioguard for perimeter treatment of my home and they agreed to send me invoices for payment by US Mail. They have come to my home twice, and I have not received a bill. Today, I received an automated phone call notifying me that I am 30 days behind in my payment. I have called all three numbers I have for this company, and each has the same voice message which then directs me to leave a message. When I try to leave a message another automated message comes on stating the the user's mailbox is full and to call again. I have called six times with the same result. I am concerned this will hurt my credit rating, and am extremely disappointed that I cannot reach a live person or leave a detailed message. I have reported this to the BBB for follow up. read more

We contracted with them few residential and rental properties termite and pet control since July 2017. They did not do the job. They also are crooked and dishonest. 1. I gave them my credit card for initial contract. They kept auto debit duplicate payments two in one month and there after. I told them I was not authorized the charges and they was over charge. I called back few times. Their office manager told me that their manager would call me back. I have never revived any phone call from the manager. 2. Moreover, they have over charged my money and promised to refund, but never did. They also have not installed any termite monitors on my properties. 3. I called them told them about they kept charging me, but have not installed the termite monitor or came to visit to do the pet control. They said they did. I told them my house have video camera and can be proved. The office manager told me again. The owner/manager will contact me. Again, never did. 4. In the contract they promised to treat the roaches, aunt, mouse, rat, hornets and wasps. This company BioGuard LLC has made me loose myself today. I have had them service my house for 2 1/2 years now-Termite prevention and bug prevention. I have been upset for a long time and due to them threatening me with some service agreement I signed June 2016. It's nonsense since it was a service agreement for one year. They have auto renewed it and try to tell me that if I cancel I have to pay them the left over on the contract. That contract is from 2016, how does it even hold water. My biggest issue is that they have zero care in the world to make things right even after hearing my continued frustration over the last 2 years. For those last 2 years I have been pleading with every employee under the sun to make the same note/annotation every time I call. This is two years of calling every three months. This has left me frustrated and infuriated. This plea is to not book my appointments themselves, to ring my doorbell when they come to let me know (so no kids or dogs are in the backyard) and #1 complaint that they need to leave a paper reciept after the service is done. This is so I know they actually came here if I happened to not be home. This is still not being done after all this time, but it is "not their issue since it's not in the computer." When speaking with the so called "manager" today her words were "these notes are veuge and it's a moot point since those employees no longer work here" was by far the worst thing I have heard from any customer service specialist. Even though I have called and asked every time, I get some phone call about a late payment. The reason I have stayed is after talking to them I am thinking my request has been heard. I have given them shot after shot to get this right. Then 3 months later I get that same weird phone call telling me I'm now late on a payment. I don't think Requesting a paper reciept while they are here is a hard thing to do. It reminds me I need to pay for this service, that I saw them preform said service and helps me keep a record for the house maintenance book. Yes, I keep one. Them telling me it is in their notes the last time I called tells me they understand and it won't happen again. Yet every 3 months I have the same issue. A late payment call because I didn't even know they were here. The Manager today said "I'm putting it in now" and that is the same thing the last person said to me when I called three months earlier and 3 months before that and 3 months before that. She did not understand how infuriating this was to hear and continued to act like it was not her problem and to just pay your invoice. Every three months to hear "I am putting this in the notes that you want a paper reciept to prove they were there" and me having to call back and hear "I'm adding it to the notes" again, over and over didnt compute with her at all today. Instead I was told my point was "moot." How is their employee turn over rate my issue as a customer and why do I have to have these issues when I'm told that they "are making sure it is in the notes." This tells me two things 1. They could care less about their customer service since for 2 years a simple note can't be added. 2. They are not coming to my house at all since leaving a paper reciept after their service is completed is hard to comprehend, yet they want to be paid. Instead the real reason is so that they can continue to act like they had come. The reviews online now tell me I'm not the only one with issues of thinking they are taking advantage of people. They can't tell countless pleading for a paper invoice to prove they were at my house to begin is out of the question. They also can't tell me that I continue to miss someone walking around the perimeter of my house was missed since I work from home. I think I would notice someone from any angle of my tiny house. Even if I had to run out, leaving it on my door or putting it in the mail box would show me that they actually showed up at my house to begin with. They make their own appointments for your house and even after asking them not to schedule their own appointments, "I will schedule them myself" is hard to do. That was apparently also "added to their notes" the countless times I have called. Yet they have continued to make me feel like Im horrible to ask for such a small thing. A few years ago, my wife hired Bio Guard to treat a pest problem with roof rats while I was forward deployed for a year. Upon return from deployment, I noticed that the crawl space to our home was completely sealed. I asked her why this was done and questioned the impact it would have without air circulating under the house. My wife explained that Bio Guard assured her that moisture would never be an issue in the crawl space if they replaced the vapor barrier and sealed off the crawl space. I was not too happy about the overall price ($6000) but understood the preventative measures added on. We recently placed the house for sale. Upon home inspection, there was a great deal of moisture damage in the crawl space. I crawled under there and found that the vapor barrier was installed without lapping and sealing on the columns and walls of the house. Along much of the back of the house, the vapor barrier did not even abut the walls. It was several feet away allowing pools of standing water to form. The improper installation of material coupled with the sealing off ventilation to the crawl space created a catalyst in destroying wood that was found flawless during a home inspection only two years prior. My wife called the company to survey the damage. She was told that because the initial work was for pests and NOT moisture, there was no guarantee on the work. I submit that no matter the reason the company was called to the house to do the work; other work was authorized under the premise that it would indeed prevent moisture damage. The idea was not my wife's, but pitched by the company in the course of remedying the pest problem. Bio Guard advertises the ability to resolve moisture and insulation deficiencies however, the improper installation of the vapor barrier and sealing off the crawl space only created a problem that had been a non-issue beforehand. They also claim a money back guarantee however don't stand by their work if "they weren't hired for that." They estimated another $5000 in repair costs that included only wood treatment although the wood was so damaged that it could be removed with a finger nail. Three other contractors said the rotted joists and beams needed replaced and the new vapor barrier, insulation, and dehumidifier in all cost just over $10,000. Heed the reviews and if you had work done, do not take their word for it being moisture proof. Check for yourself that they properly installed the barrier and there aren't trapped pools of water causing damage that wasn't an issue before you hired them. read more

This company is corrupt! I signed up for 5 services for a 1 year. After all services were done they came again unannounced when no one was home so they didn't even service the back yard. I received a bill for this incomplete service and told the employee over the phone I wasn't interested in anymore treatments. A couple weeks later i received an email that they would return the next day, i tried calling them back when i saw the email but it was past working hours so i had my wife put a note on the door informing the service technician we didn't want the service, do not spray the house. That afternoon i received another bill for services rendered (yet again incomplete due to no access to my back yard). I called again to complain that i had not requested service and left a note to refuse need/want of treatment. Now none of the receptionist will admit the conversation we had via the phone and technician is denying seeing the note left on front door. We called BioGuard to deal with our rodent problem in our crawl space. They came out, checked out our crawl space, let us know what was needed, and gave us the quote (which we agreed to and cancelled our current regular pest control service for). After the initial appointment, We had to wait for 1MONTH (they said it normally only takes a week or two) for asbestos testing for samples that they said they sent off for testing. After repeated phone calls to the office, they told me the lab told them the sample was too small to test. Then they sent out another tech who could not fit into the crawl space and complete the job. After calling the office to discuss the issues, I was told "we are so, so sorry but we cannot finish the job". The techs were all nice and professional who came out, but if your company does not have the staff to complete a job, DO NOT say otherwise to homeowners that you can! There was never any follow up from the company about the lack of completion of services either, after having emailed about our frustration and disappointment with the promised, but not followed through with, services. read more

I have used BioGuard for the first and LAST time. The salesman told me he would be at the initial service to make sure they covered the whole backyard. Well he did not show up and they refused to do the whole backyard even though it said to on the paperwork. Initial service started out ok until they refused to do what the paperwork stated, and then had to walk around with worker and point out spot missed. Was then pretty much asked to give a tip without saying hey can i get a tip. Contacted the company and was told they would be calling me and redo the service correctly. They give you a great sales pitch, tell you what you want to hear, say you can get out of the contract at any point, etc. The salesman asks that you sign his electronic notebook to verify he was here. The signature is really your agreement to a years contract. The product does not work, they promise to come out any time, then say they don't have any open appointments. Only one technician to service the whole peninsula. Been trying for several days to get out of the contract....they say sure, but it will be a $100 dollar charge. Total flim flam. The second time I had them scheduled to come out they canceled it due to weather and said it would be rescheduled, they never rescheduled it. When I called to have the initial treatment scheduled for a third time the lady at the desk was very rude and blamed me for not being at home when the technician showed up. So kept interrupting me when I tried to explain that I was home the whole time and they cancelled the last one. Her only reply was "are you done yet," after that I told her don't worry about it I'll just go with a different company. This company only seems to care about the money and not the service. They charge a lot more than half the other companies around and they treat the customer with lots of disrespect. Bioguard is a fraud! They were just at my house last week to spray for ants and last night, there were over 30 ants in my kitchen cabinet. My wife had to throw out $10 worth of snacks she had just bought because the ants had gotten into them. As much as they charge for service, I should never see any ants or spiders in my house. They originally said the stuff they spray would prevent spiders from being able to attach webs to my house, but six months later, there were two or three spider webs on my front porch. I had charges & money taken directly out of my bank account even after I canceled services because the service was AWFUL. They kept charging my account, then they took out a lump sum of $258 from my bank account without any warning! When I called to investigate, I got transferred to a voice mail. When I called again, they hung up on me. I'm calling the BBB about this. They are crooks!! The worst thing is that they still have my bank account info. I am fearful that they will just help themselves to more money. Also, their service was a joke.
