    Lamb momo
    Abe L.

We grabbed an 8-piece lamb momo dumpling order. Overall, I would give it a solid C+ (slightly above average) on a taste scale. The dumpling skins were pretty thick, so a bit chewy for my liking. Though this likely made it easier to keep the momos very juicy. The sauce was nice, but a bit too overwhelming. It made it difficult to taste the lamb. Actually, never was able to fully appreciate the innards because the sauce and thick skin overwhelmed every bite. But it was still nice.

Bini's Kitchen is one of the staple food trucks at the Saturday Ferry Building Farmers' Market, serving primarily Nepalese momos. It's pretty popular, so I was excited to finally give them a try! I got the Lamb Momos, as it was the only option they had left at the end of the market. It was $14 for 8 sizable momos, they don't skimp on the filling, and I got lucky that day because I got 10! That was a welcome surprise, like finding forgotten cash in your pocket. Overall, the momos were delicious! There was a generous amount of meat in each one, and the sauce added a nice layer of additional salt and flavor. My only qualm is that the wrapper would tear apart when I picked up a momo, so I'd eat them by popping the meat filling and quickly following with the wrapper. Not a huge deal, especially because they package things well and provide utensils, but it did make things slightly harder to eat and slightly less enjoyable. I wonder if momos from earlier in the day would have this same problem; I would be willing to test that out because, again, they were still great! To top it off, I felt the service was fast and the people were nice. I would recommend Bini's Kitchen as a fun and unique farmers' market eat!

solid nepalese food from the farmer's market! the chicken was beautifully seasoned and cooked - perfectly juicy and soft paired with the curry and rice. the dumplings were also quite yummy! the service was standard and ambiance was nice at the farmer's market. for the price point at $19, this is a fair amount of food but i do feel like farmer's market vendors always upcharge a bit. overall, i'd recommend if you're in the area or craving some indian or nepalese food.

One of the better deals with the combo being enough food for one hangry or two hungries w/room for dessert from other vendors to enjoy at the Saturday farmers market. Helpful service, food is delish, fresh, steaming hot and filling; date-night breath friendly (not overly seasoned or spicy). Tables to sit nearby. Their two store locations are walking distance to try them at other times

Found them in the farmer's market by the ferry building and we wanted some dumplings in the morning. Hot dumplings were perfect for a normal windy morning in SF. They have 2 options for momos: lamb and turkey but we got turkey. Their momos are bigger than most of momos I've ever had before. The sauce was good and they didn't give you enough sauce (per my opinion). Worth to try if you ever want some Nepalese dumplings/momos

If you're looking for a delicious and comforting meal on a chilly, overcast day in SF, Bini Kitchen's momos and Nepali vegetarian chili hit the spot. I found myself in this exact situation on a Saturday afternoon at the Ferry Building farmers' market, so I ordered the veggie momo and chili plate. The momos were succulent, flavorful, and downright delicious. The vegetarian chili was also amazing - it contains a variety of beans bathed in a richly spiced-sauce (similar to daal but with more texture from the beans and different spices). The veggie plate was very filling, and I have already decided that I will be back to order this again soon.

This hit the SPOT. Was hungry and this plate (with lamb, rice, and dumplings) had flavor AND substance. I really enjoyed the food - and it came piping hot. Would recommend if you're at the Farmers Market. The plate came out to be around $16.

Delicious momos with a little bit of spice. We all miss the classic street food from 15+ months ago, and now we get a chance to get a taste of it. I highly recommend the lamb mom's. Super juicy. The mixed spices aren't overwhelming. The staff are friendly and they are quick. The only issue is parking is difficult. I would suggest to arrive by bus/BART. Lines aren't really an issue except during that one "lunch hour"...but I usually don't show up during that time. They tend to sell out of certain items, so be there early for certain popular things (i.e. lamb momos)

I wish there was an option to give 100 stars. I was here yesterday to enjoy the weather, scenery, and people-watching at The Ferry Building when I stumbled upon this place. The weather was hot. I was sweaty and I felt uncomfortable but melting away as I was enjoying my lunch was definitely worth it. Lines were long but it moved pretty fast. Accepts cards which is awesome. I still can't understand "cash only" policies at some other places. I wanted to order everything but decided to go w/ their combo plate ($13.99) to have a taste of their rice, chicken, and dumplings (momo's). A very heavy meal but nothing existed in my mind when I was eating this other than if I should order a plate of this to-go. The dumplings were juicy, flavorful. The rice was fluffy and super fragrant. The chicken was tender. I simply loved this plate so much that I wouldn't mind marrying it. I'm going back up there in 2 weeks for this. If you are at The Ferry Building on Saturday, check this place out!!! I am hoping I will be strong enough to eat half and bring the other half home for the following day.

Food / Taste: - Turkey Momo - I've never had Nepalese food before, and this did not disappoint. They reminded me of the Taiwanese Xiao Long Bao and Chiense Dumplings, with their own unique twist! I was walking around the farmer's market and I saw this cute stand. It was flavorful, and warmed me up in the cold weather. The sauce was also very good; it added a tang to the dish. Presentation: Nothing fancy; this was at the farmer's market. It was a paper bowl. Decor and Ambience: They were selling a bustling farner's market. Parking: There are metered parking nearby.

I had never had Nepalese cuisine before but I had a few places on my list to try and visit while I was in San Fran. This was not one of them but their booth caught my eye when I was walking by at the Saturday morning farmers market. I had noticed a lot of people walking around with the MOMOs. I love dumplings of all kinds so I thought I would give them a try. Unfortunately the Buy two get a Mango Lassi sign threw me off and I did not see that they had the choice of Lamb on their menu and I ordered the Turkey MOMO. They were good but I can imagine the lamb being better. I wouldn't say the turkey ones were anything special. Not under spiced but not rich in flavor either. But to be honest, what can you expect from ground turkey? For me, it was average and the sauce on top neither added or took away from my overall opinion of the dish. I probably would not go back and order the Turkey but I would give the lamb ones a chance.

Not many Nepalese options around town, so it's a nice treat to have it offered at the Ferry Building Farmers' Market. I don't really have much Nepalese cuisine experience to benchmark against, but I do know I like the food served here. Also, $10 for a hearty combo seems like quite a reasonable price given the much more expensive food stand options nearby. Jerra Rice: Fluffy and tender without the grains sticking together. Wasn't as heavy on the cumin seed as I'd like, but still tasty. Gurkha Chicken: Lots of tender dark meat chicken in a curry sauce that seemed to have a little bit of coconut too. More creamy than spicy. Turkey Momos: The dense meat center and thick dough wrapping make momos so hearty. Also, love the vibrant pepper sauce on top; such a nice departure from soy/vinegar based dumpling sauces.

Lots of vegan options! There was not a long crazy line - which is always a plus! I will come back to try more stuff, I liked the momos!

My regular orders on rotation (I'd give them all 5 stars!): Chicken Momos ($14) - Comes in 8 pieces. The dumplings are large, flavorful, with the perfect skin-to-meat ratio. It is served with Bini's spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top; the sauce is delicious with just a slight/mild kick. Vegetarian Momos ($12) - Comes in 8 pieces. Vegan dumplings filled with tofu, carrots, & cabbage. Also served with the spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top. I love how clean yet tasty this is! Vegetarian Combo ($18) - Comes with 4 vegetarian momos and one veggie side served on top of fragrant basmati rice. For the sides, I love the Baigun Bharta, a tomato-based braised eggplant. It's saucey and pairs extremely well with the rice. The only reason I'd dock off half a star for this combo is the price. You can also mix and match the momos. I got the standard Crazy Crab'z sandwich, which had beautifully buttered and toasted bread, a crab and mayo mix, and tomatoes. It was around $30 after tax, which was a hefty price for a sandwich that could be a bit heftier, but I kind of expected that for arena prices. The sandwich was so good. It really was the perfect lunch for a baseball game with the sun shining and the beautiful bay view. I walked by the weekend after the 4th, but there was a small crowd and I had appointments so I didn't stop by. The following Saturday, I found the opportunity to stop and chap with the chef owner, Julieta. Reading all of the info on the table about her company, I then studied the menu. Wanting to try as many things as I could, I ordered the combo with the Pollo empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=ZczDON-aR9OA_VKb97zfow), which came with an orange limeade drink (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=7HuB84nrruQ3gQrkudoSSQ). The pollo is described as braised chicken with wine and capers. It came with a garliky (sp) mayo sauce and a Panamanian habanero mango hot sauce. I was bouncing between the two in dipping but found that I enjoy the spicy one better. Do have something to soothe your tongue if you are spice sensitive. It was good but on the drier side filling wise. From the mini sweet empanadas section of the menu, I tried the Tropical Jam empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=BfNrvspmq90iSeHXyIkzKg), mango, pineapple, and guava and had this as an appetizer since my stomach was growling. I enjoyed the fruity flavors which paired well with the not-to-buttery shell. I will get this again. After I made my purchase, a few more customers walked up. This stand is here for the next two Saturdays (ends in July). The owner chef is very nice and appreciative. Support local businesses and stop here. You may find something that you'll like too.
