Aloo Gobi and Chicken Tikka Masala
    Clarissa C.

Great food! Note: medium spicy is still very much on the spicy side. We got aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, steamed chicken mo mo, and mango lassis - all of which tasted great. The servers were attentive, and the vibes in the restaurant were good. Would recommend coming h

A top-down view of an Indian meal spread on a white table, featuring chicken curry with naan, biryani rice, and steamed momos.

Solid Indian spot in Nob Hill with comforting, well-executed dishes and generous portions. The chicken curry was rich and aromatic, with tender pieces and a nicely balanced spice level that didn't overwhelm. The naan was warm, soft, and lightly buttery--perfect for soaking up the sauce. The biryani had good fragrance and texture, with visible spices and vegetables, though it leaned slightly mild for those who prefer bolder heat. A standout surprise was the momos (dumplings), which were well-pleated, juicy, and paired with a flavorful dipping sauce that added a nice kick. Service was efficient and the overall experience felt relaxed and unpretentious--good for both casual dinners and sharing multiple dishes. Not the most adventurous Indian food in the city, but consistently satisfying and worth a return visit if you're in the neighborhood.

4.5 Stars We came here for the momos at lunchtime. They also have a wider variety of other items on the menu (Indian items too). We got the steamed chicken ($13.99) and veggie momos ($11.99). They bring out these crunchy cumin crackers and dips to snack on as you wait for your meal. The momos were wonderfully spiced and delicious, and the dough seemed very fresh. The interior is authentic and very casual. It smells heavily of spices. The staff (I think it was the owner who was waiting us) were very polite and kind. I was starving and the food seemed to take a long time to come out, though, it does say on the menu that momos take longer to cook.

Casual, yummy hole in the wall place down Polk :) The owner is so sweet and passionate about the food. He also said that his friend made all the art on the walls - each one was so fun to admire! Very reasonable prices! I loved the momos. They were so delicious and fragrant. The crunch of the somosas also added good texture to the meal. We also got a free appetizer while choosing from the menu. There was no wait on a Monday at 5pm but got busy when we left at like 6:30pm.

We came across this place while walking around SF and were not disappointed! The restaurant is smaller with a few tables for dining in. The lighting is a bit dim although we did come during the afternoon. However that didn't bother us at all. Now, I have to give kudos to the staff and how attentive they were to us because they really went out of our way to help us select dishes to try and they made sure to highlight popular Himalayan food on the menu. We ended up ordering the chicken choila, which is almost like a tandoori chicken but served cold and the balance of spices skews more towards the zing of ginger and it is on the spicy side, but it's not too overpowering. I really liked the chopped cilantro and the green onion which provided this cooling effect. We also ordered the steamed chicken momos, which comes with a chutney-type dipping sauce. The texture of the momos was soft and supple, with this delicious chicken filling that was also juicy as well. The sauce that comes with the momos reminded me of the base of a lot of south Asian dishes, that is more cream-based although the spices were toned down. I ended up liking the momos with the green chutney as it provided that fresh balance that blended nicely with the richness of the momo dish. Overall, I would recommend coming here to try new dishes and trust the recommendations from the staff!

A very authentic and flavorful spot! Everything we tried was incredibly delicious and had a nice level of spice. We had the samosa, which wasn't too greasy, and my favorite was the chicken momo which had the perfect spicy kick. We also got the butter chicken, which was also absolutely delicious. Overall, the prices are very affordable, especially considering the quality of the food. They also have a great selection of vegetarian options. The service was very quick, and the place was clean with an authentic vibe.

I have always been able to get a seat every visit, but sometimes it can get crowded during dinner time depending on the day. The vibe is causal and perfect for groups. When you get seated in, they usually give you complimentary papad and chutney. This helps pass the time while ordering and waiting for food. We ordered the chicken chili momos (must try!), chicken curry, onion naan, and garlic naan. The momos are perfect to share, sooo flavorful and filling. The curry was spicy and had the perfect kick. I liked that we could customize the spice level for our dishes. The onion naan was very soft and the bits of onion added a nice bite. The garlic naan was a classic and also delicious. Left perfectly full and satisfied with both the experience and meal.

Amazing little gem. Delicious food, kind & attentive staff. Highly recommend! Butter chicken, my daughter said was the best chicken of any kind she's ever had. :)

Grabbed dinner here with friends and was pleasantly surprised! We were seated immediately and given complimentary papad with green and red chutney to start off :) about 20 minutes later, the place was packed! The servers were attentive to all and kept filling our water. The onion and garlic naans were soft and cut into quarters making it easy to share. We ordered the chicken curry with medium spice and it was flavorful, spicy and the chicken was very tender. But the star of the show had to be the himalayan chicken chili momos! They were delicious... pan fried so crisp on the outside and the filling was sooo yummy. It came with 10 momos mixed with some onions and bell peppers. I highly recommend trying out any of the momo dishes!

My boyfriend and I decided on this place for dinner one night based on the good yelp reviews and the fact that it was walkable from our new place and it did not disappoint! First off, the server was so nice and attentive! Although he wasn't super talkative(I actually preferred this haha) he came to check on our table and a few times and always made sure our water glass was filled. Onto the food! We were given a small appetizer of some papadum and dipping sauce on the house which I thought was such a nice touch! The chips were delicious! Nice and savory and had a really good crispiness to them. They also went really well with the mint and tamarind dipping sauces. For our entrees, we order the lamb thali and the chicken thali. Both were so good and had a nice mix of a little bit of everything! The curries were both so flavorful and the meat was extremely tender. My least favorite thing on the plate was the dal(lentils) but I don't think I've liked it any time I've had it so I'm probably just not a dal gal lol Overall, 5/5 experience and I'd definitely come back to try out some of their other dishes!

The ambiance we pretty quiet and welcoming at 6pm on a Thursday because we were the only ones there! The service was fast and friendly, but again, only people there. The food was fantastic. Wife and I both got the Chicken Chili MoMo and we loved it. We also started with the Dani Puri chaat and I really enjoyed it, but she did not. It's a preference thing for sure. I highly recommend this place.

Based on my recent order, everything was executed beautifully, from the rich curries to the fresh sides. The Stars of the Show Chicken Tikka Masala: This classic dish was a creamy revelation. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the sauce struck a perfect balance--rich and flavorful without being overly heavy or sweet. It's easily one of the best versions I've had in the city. Saag Curry Lamb: A true highlight! The lamb was cooked to perfection, falling apart with gentle pressure. The Saag (spinach) curry itself was deeply savory and earthy, seasoned masterfully to complement the meat. It had a wonderful, comforting depth of flavor. Sides & Bread Perfection Yellow Rice with Vegetables: This was a vibrant and flavorful accompaniment. The rice was perfectly cooked--fluffy and separate--and the inclusion of fresh, tender vegetables (carrots, peas, etc.) made it a substantive and refreshing side dish. Garlic Cheese Naan: Absolutely essential! The naan was warm, pillowy, and generously stuffed with melted cheese and fresh garlic. It wasn't greasy, and the balance of savory garlic and gooey cheese made it irresistible for dipping into the curry sauces. Overall Verdict Yarsa Napalese Cuisine delivers an exceptional dining experience. The ingredients taste fresh, the spices are complex and aromatic, and the preparation shows genuine care and expertise. If you're looking for fantastic Nepalese and Indian classics in San Francisco, look no further. This place is a gem! The service was great ! The waiter was very friendly and it was a nice vibe in. We also got a side of garlic naan and Peshwari naan. Although I hadn't had Peshwari naan before and was skeptical about whether it would go with the meal with its sweet flavors, the filling of coconut, almonds, and sultanas was so delicious that it was my favorite part of the meal.
