    Cheese naan
    Alison H.

Finally got to try this newly opened restaurant. The service is so kind and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Ambiance is casual and the decor is clean and eclectic. There are different countries' flags everywhere and colorful hats which make it fun and vibrant inside. We ordered a bunch of dishes to try out: cheese naan, palak paneer, lamb biryani, and chicken momos. Everything was good, but I think I was expecting the dishes to be a bit more flavorful since I'm more used to Indian food. The naan was a little too thick and not as salted or crisped up as I'm used to, and the curries weren't very spiced. I usually like my food to punch me in the face though haha, so others might really enjoy this level. Still, it was a really filling meal and a great try! I definitely recommend trying this spot out and supporting this new business!

Was craving some biryani, and this place helped fill that craving- got the lamb biryani; solid flavor, HUGE portions, great price. Wish it was a little spicer, but overall very satisfied with the meal. Would recommend if craving biryani

I'm Nepalese and I'm always trying to find authentic delicious food in the bay and this has definitely made it to my top 3 list! My go to dishes I ALWAYS get and would recommend to everyone is their chai, pakora, aloo tiki, jhol chicken momo, chicken chili momo, mixed chowmein, and their kebab (i like their lamb or chicken one). There is usually street parking close or around the block, the price point is definitely a bang for your buck. All of this cost around $75 which is crazy in this economy and the food is served fresh so it may take some time but worth it, server is also very nice. Highly recommend!

Delicious & affordable I ordered the thakali lamb plate and it was a great deal for essentially a combo plate, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her lamb tikka masala. We also ordered the tikka fries and they were SO GOOD. I am very picky about fries but these were perfect. I also loved the masala sauce they came with. Service was great as well- very attentive and friendly and helpful. So excited to have this place so close! Definitely a new favorite for sure.

Good quality momos, jhol sauce isn't the best I've had but doable. Also on the cheaper end for what I can see

I've been to plenty of fine dining Indian restaurants before, notably Semma and Bungalow in NYC,…read morebut this was arguably better than both.We were seated promptly to our reservation time and decided to order à la carte. The space was pretty busy but didn't take away from the expensive ambience you'd expect with this price tag. For food, the bone marrow here is a MUST GET!!! The flavor was so spicy, smoky, and authentic and I was scooping up every part of the curry to eat with my paratha. The dosa was also super crispy, and I really enjoyed the aloo filling. The black cod was another stand-out item, super flavorful and it came wrapped up in banana leaf. I was pretty scared of getting a drink because they all sounded so spicy, but the darjeeling bling was the right level of sweet to sip on during the meal.

Service was extremely chaotic and disorganized with 5 different people bringing the dishes out and most of them didn't know which items were on the vegetarian vs the carnivores pre fixe menu, they would just say "it's for the table". This made it difficult, chaotic and confusing for the entire table. The service/delivery of the items was often very poor. I asked what one of the first courses was, because a busboy just tossed on our table with no indication of what it is and when I asked him "what is this please?" he said only one word. "Pepper", and then walked away. Seriously. For a meal that was CRAZY expensive you'd expect a much higher level and more consistent service experience. The food was delicious but portions on the pre fixe were VERY small. Literally, 1 shrimp and one oyster. That's a corse. The wine pairing was an absolute joke too as the pours were truly some of the smallest I've ever seen. 3 small sips per "glass". Absurd and comical was the entire tables opinion. Order by the glass, do not do this rip off wine pairing. It was EXTREMELY expensive overall will the mandatory gratuity for poor service and extra sf mandate fees etc. Even though the food was good, everyone in our party agreed that because of the awkward, chaotic, inconsistent and carelessly low effort pre fixe menu service experience, along with the ridiculously small wine pairing pours, none of us will be rushing back in here again if ever. Strongly do not recommend coming in group of 6 or more where you're only offered the pre fixe menu and there are definitely better service and values at other sf Indian spots.

The paneer butter masala was finger-licking delicious, and the naans were fresh and soft--they didn't even get chewy when cold. The chaats are a delight, especially the onion kachori chaat. The absolute highlight, however, was the dessert that shares the restaurant's name: Jalebi. Fried in ghee with real saffron and made fresh to order, it is the most delicious jalebi I've tasted in the whole of the USA. The hosts are a lovely couple running a family-owned business, and they truly have a calling for hospitality. When we visited right around closing time, they were still running around for hungry customers. Even when they had to turn a group away at the door, the wife immediately offered to pack food to go, bringing smiles to everyone's faces. She always finds a way to serve her customers. For food we got the following: -Dahi Sev Puri - this was my favorite dish, really fun to eat and great flavors. -Chole Bhature - this was also great! The puffy bread was sooo delicious and the chickpeas were perfectly seasoned and delicious. -Bhel Puri - this dish was unique and was a good size portion, but not as flavorful as the other two dishes. It felt like eating a savory rice crispy cereal, but not in a bad way :P -Garlic Naan - pretty decent but nothing special -Jalebi - I was really excited to try this dessert. I looooved the texture (crunchy outside, with a gooey inside) but the actual flavor was not my favorite. To me, it tasted very similar to chlorinated water, and it was hard to get past that.. There was a different jalebi with a dipping sauce, and I wonder if that would have been better. They were out of it when we went, but I would try it again with that. Overall a really great restaurant, and definitely a place to try out if you're wanting a more unique Indian dining experience!
