A cold, limp grilled cheese with cold, flavorless baked beans. Busch's canned baked beans would have been better. I stopped eating once I had to pull a giant, long, dark hair from between my teeth. They have a poster up ranking them in the Top 10 for Drunk College Burgers or something, which I think is pretty spot on. Probably a great stop if you need solid food for when you're already having a great alcohol filled time lol. Chicken tenders were bomb! Burger was mid, I'm not sure why so many burger places seem like they don't salt their food at all but :( It wasn't bad, but wasn't particularly good. Skipppppp the jerk chicken sandwich... Binghamton is probably not the place you want to go to for jerk chicken. Outdoor seating was pleasant (a wasp kept chasing us though). I dropped my soda in fear (the wasp was seriously gunning for my Pepsi) and a member of the staff came out to rinse the sidewalk, apologize for the wasp, and offered me another soda. There are quite a few Binghamton Hotties, including Nicole (hi Nicole!), and this restaurant caters to all of them. Not really, though, since if you eat at this place too much, you're kind of going to let yourself go a bit. Grease and meat and such are not very good for one's body, to put it mildly. My experience here was a mixed one. While I enjoyed the garbage-y food, I did think it was a little overpriced and not as good as some of the hots places in Rochester. Nevertheless, I was delighted to find a place open so late in the dead of the night in Binghamton, so this was a good thing. The service was just okay. However, while I was ordering, I'd left my car in a no-park zone, but so had others, and it was 3 in the morning, and someone was watching it (in the passenger seat). Unfortunately, she had fallen asleep, and the lovely friendly cop who was obviously keeping an eye on us, waited for me to leave, then wandered over and gave me a ticket while she was sleeping. She would have gladly moved the car if he'd asked, but then that wouldn't have generated any money for the city, would it. So I'll give the Binghamton Police Department a 1/5 for that little maneuver when I get around to it, but the Hots themselves score a healthy 4. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. We ordered through Grubhub and the only positive is we got our order within a good timeframe. However, we ordered the attached and received only one coleslaw, one burger missing ranch on the side, another burger missing a pickle, and the jerk chicken was missing lettuce, tomato, and American cheese. Called DoorDash which called the company, who admitted to making a mistake on the jerk chicken and said we didn't order coleslaw for the chicken philly sub, which clearly says it on the attached. Grubhub gave us two options, submit a customer service ticket for a refund (which they look into by calling us and calling the restaurant) or to try and reorder the food (which they contact restaurant again and we risk who knows what happening to our food...no thanks) so now we wait. Screw this place AND Grubhub! Ridiculous. Customer has no leg to stand on. Unbelievable that the restaurant didn't even own up to the mistake. BTW... the food was mediocre. Quick update: we called restaurant directly and they said they'd zero out the order and we can go pick up the food made a 2nd time and they told Grubhub this. Great service. I was greeted warmly as I walked through the door, and the person at the counter was very polite and friendly. It was my first time here. I scanned over the menu, and it seemed to be a pretty typical american menu, phiily cheesesteaks, hot dogs, burgers, fries, etc. I ordered the hot plate with two red hots with 2 x sides of macaroni salad. Five minutes later, they brought the food to my table. I thought it would just be two hot dogs with macaroni on the side. Surprise!!! It was an amalgamation of two hot dogs, layered on top of the macaroni salad, covered with some spicy ground beef stuff and mustard on top. It also came with a single slice of bread on the side. Apparently, they brought this unique style of food from its origins in Rochester, NY. It tasted pretty decent, but it's not something that I would ever crave. Someone came over in the middle of my meal, and asked me how my meal tasted. Great service again. Looking at the pictures on their Facebook page, they have some really yummy looking dishes. They offer more than just the hot plates. I'll have to stop by again and give it a second look sometime. If you're in the area, it's a decent place to get a meal. I am here checking out restaurant week. Excited for the food and prices! $12 I got the butternut squash bisque, 3 slider sampler, and the apple crisp. Sounds amazing right?! The squash bisque was delicious! It was so well puréed and flavored. It wasn't overly salted and it was very enjoyable and tasted fresh. Next were the sliders, which ended up being too much for me but the one slider I had was very tender and cooked well. There were 2 other sliders with different cheeses and sauces that I can't wait to finish tonight at dinner. I expect those to be well cooked and flavored just as well as the one I did have. The fries could use some work. One it was overly oily and usually I can handle oily if the fries were actually crunchy. These were just soaked in oil and soggy. Unappetizing, but not overly salted and they give the client the choice if they want to salt more or not. Improve the fries and they've got a well rounded joint! Next was dessert which was very disappointing. The apple crisp was just apples with granola on top and whipped cream. Would have liked a bigger effort, but I did appreciate that it was not overtly sweet. Still unfortunate that they would give a dessert with such little creativity for restaurant week. The venue itself was down a very cute side street. It is one way and you have to pay for parking. 50 cents for an hour, so not pricey. Easy to locate because they have a sign above the door as well as a sign out front to catch people's attention. Service was quick. You go in, order and then they bring the food out to you, so more fast food style ordering. Everything was clean, small, and quaint. read more

This is a place you attend strictly for the late night drunk food. I've had Binghamton Hots menu items both sober and drunk and I honestly haven't enjoyed them either way. I'm from Rochester so I don't even dare touch any other city's version of a "Garbage Plate". Besides that I find that most of their food doesn't taste fresh, isn't too great in flavor, and most importantly is overpriced. The mac salad, and cole slaw taste like they're store bought from Price Rite. $8 for Chicken Fingers, $6 for a hotdog? I don't get it. I could never soberly pay that much for those items or anything else they offer on their menu. I've gone several times during regular hours and things I've ordred haven't been available for one reason or another (do they ever keep a kitchen fully stocked?) All that being said, the only time to get food here (literally the only time) is during restaurant week for lunch. They have a great deal for a 3-course meal. Other than that, there's really no reason to eat her. Go anywhere else in downtown Binghamton (even Zona's) and I promise you'll get better service and food. read more

One of the things I miss from my decades in Rochester are "Plates." The Garbage Plate™, invented by Nick Tahou early last century, is a delicious mishmash of macaroni salad, home fries and/or baked beans, topped by your favorite fast food meat (usually hot dogs or hamburgers) and slathered with a cinnamon-and-meat flavored hot sauce. It sounds awful, but it's soooo good. Imitations (or as I prefer to call them, "tributes") are at joints all over Rochester, but alas, they were nonexistent in Binghamton. Until now. The plate I had at Binghamton Hots was darn good. I had a cheeseburger plate with mac salad and home fries, topped with onions, mustard and hot sauce. Mmmmmm. I've been in here once before and the food was pretty decent - granted its downtown and it was at 4am so we all know the condition I was in. However - the four stars comes from the customer services. I was here for parade day and they told us they were full out of food. However, the cook came out from the back and said here's our last batch of fries, sorry for the inconvenience and gave it to us on the house - three full styrofoam containers (the big ones) full of fries. Bing hots is probably the only late night eats around Binghamton. Their prices are relatively cheap for the amount of food you get. Skip the coffee, it's never good. But definitely try the hot plate if you're in town. Also, avoid the late night scene during the weekend if you're a newcomer, the drunk college kids will probably scare you off when school is in session read more

Really enjoy this place, and that's not from a drunk late night point of view. My office orders lunch here every now and then and it's a decent place to add in our rotation. Usually we get salads - the chicken pear pecan bleu cheese one is quite good, with a large serving of chicken. I've also had the buffalo chicken salad which was decent, and the Greek special burger that is very good. The wraps are also yummy and it's nice they come with a side which makes it a better deal than other downtown lunch options. The only drunk food I've had are the fries which are the kind I like with the crunchy coating, and are very good. The only downside is that sometimes they forget things if you get takeout. I've had salads without dressing, and wraps without the correct ingredients requested (I HATE Wasabi!) so I'd definitely suggest checking your order before you leave. When I heard they were opening a hotplate place in Binghamton I was beyond excited, and I have to say Binghamton Hots does an excellent plate with a great variety of meat choices and sides. You dont have to come here for just a g-plate though, they have a good few other items on the menu. I especially have enjoyed their buffalo chicken salad which they cook over a flame grill to have a great grill taste. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick but great lunch or dinner. read more

It could have been better. The double burger was on the smaller side. The hostess did tell us that it was a 3oz patty. I thought each patty was 3oz but it looked more like the total of the two patties were 3oz. The salt potatoes were sad... They should take them off the menu, and replace them with a butter and herb style of potato. For their salt potatoes had no salty flavor (even with add salt form a salt shaker). Stopped in after a nice night on the town, B-Mets game and Water Street Brewery (highly recommended), for a late night bite. My wife works downtown and this is (was) one of her regular lunch spots. Since it was well before the bars empty out, the place was quiet, only about a half dozen customers, no evidence of rowdiness. As the 4 of us walked in and approached the counter, my son's girlfriend decided to make a stop in the bathroom. At this point we were greeted by the counter staff yelling (and I mean YELLING) that THE BATHROOM WAS FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS ONLY! After exiting the bathroom she was again yelled at to LOCK THE DOOR! Really, is this an acceptable way to greet your customers? After confronting the counter staff and complaining about being greeted in this manner, they explained that they've had issues with drunken BU students trashing the bathroom. I was then offered a free compensatory brownie, which I refused. I expect to be treated with respect, not offered free brownies. So maybe this is an acceptable way to greet drunken BU students who are there to trash your bathroom, but I can't say that I've ever walked into a business to be treated so disrespectfully, even when I was a drunken BU student. In my opinion, if you're going to stay open late and cater to drunken BU students, even they deserve to be treated with respect. Until they trash your bathroom. And maybe that's why they trashed your bathroom. You made me want to trash your bathroom. And if you're going to have a policy of profiling your customers, at least hire employees with enough intelligence to be able to distinguish between drunken BU students stumbling in to trash the bathroom and middle-aged customers who are there to patronize your business. Needless to say, I walked out without ordering (or trashing the bathroom) and that will have been our last visit to this establishment. We make it a point to try and patronize local businesses and there are plenty of other local establishments that know how to treat their customers respectfully. Next time, we'll just go to Wendys. Most of the food is typical wraps, subs, and burgers but they do the "typical" well. Many dishes are a classic with a twist. I have yet to have a meal here that I didn't like.
