    Lobster spring roll
    Elise L.

Wow wow wow! Service was absolutely impeccable! From the moment we sat down to the moment we left the woman that waited on us was a dream come true. Very attentive and highly knowledgeable of the menu. Food was fantastic - would strongly recommend the screaming o. I can't recall the names of the other rolls, but the fried one with cream cheese in the middle was the table pleaser. We also got some gyoza, salmon shashimi pieces, and udon with beef. We loved everything!! The one we loved the least was the lobster spring roll, it was innovative, I just prefer a traditional spring roll. We will 100% be returning, and will need to carve out time for Billy after dark!!

This place is in the north loop in a vibrate Japanese decorum restaurant. I went there to celebrate my 30th bday with a group of 6 we ordered the Korean friend chicken which was crispy and flavorful, edamame for appetizers. For dinner we couldn't decide so our server suggested we get the sushi boat which was $250 but worth it. It was chefs choice so the chef picked his favorite rolls which every roll was amazing. Later our service let us know that downstairs there is a speakeasy called Billy's after dark serving specialty cocktails and desserts the gave me a free coconut ice cream that was phenomenal

I have to start this out by saying everything from the service to ambiance and the starter food was all 5 stars. It's only getting docked a star because I didn't love the rolls. And I really wanted to!!! We were seated on time, but they run a tight ship and let you know you have your table for a limited time. So it's frowned upon to really order and then think you can order more if you're still hungry. The sake, Tears of Dawn was so, so good. And recommended by our sever. The old fashioned I had was also up to par. Starters: jalapeño hamachi.... I could just eat 6 orders of this. I mean. Seriously so delicious. Light, flavorful and the perfect kick. The spring roll is good, I just wasn't a fan of the crab in it being more of a salad. They should do shrimp or pork in my opinion. The sauce for that is also delish. Rolls: my favorite was the bad and bougie, which it should be for $30. I thought it had the perfect combo of flavors. The nolo yolo is what I thought would be my favorite. And I thought it was just okay. Just was missing something. Maybe some citrus of some sort. We also had a crunch roll and a naughty ninja. Which was my second favorite. We had a friend get the soba noodles with steak and she really enjoyed it. She was the non sushi eater, it was a big portion and she had enough to take home. Overall. I would for sure come back for the service and drinks and a starter. Our server really knocked it our of the park.

We visited Billy Sushi on a Thursday evening with some family. We were seated quickly and our server appeared nearly immediately with menus and water. The restaurant was packed and the the atmosphere was unique. The music gave club vibes and it seemed like more of a trendy scene than a food-oriented restaurant. It wasn't quite what I was expecting. We all started with different drinks - a glass of Chenin Blanc, a mezcal cocktail, a glass of sake, and a mocktail. The drinks were very good - I was really impressed with the Chenin Blanc. We ordered an edamame appetizer to share which was pretty standard. To start off our dinner, we ordered four otoro nigiri. It was pricey but delicious. No wasabi was added to the rice in the nigiri and they didn't put any soy sauce over the top, which made it more bland than other nigiri I've had at high-end sushi restaurants. For dinner we ordered five hand rolls for four of us to share. We ordered the BAD + boujee, the crunch roll, the 2/14, the blue wave, and the George Clooney. Favorites varied by person, but I personally liked the BAD + bounce the most. The fatty tuna on top was so rich and the cilantro added an interesting flavor I haven't had with sushi before. The general consensus, however, was that we could get sushi of a similar quality at other restaurants. Overall, the service here was fantastic and the food was fine. The atmosphere is trendy and a little weird for a sushi restaurant. And be warned that the prices are very high - you can definitely get similar quality sushi at other restaurants for about half the price. For four of us to eat, we paid over $300. We were all glad we tried it, but not sure if I'd go back!

This role was amazing. It was very flavorful. The textures were amazing. It was warm and I am very happy about this vegetarian roll. We went on a Saturday night so it was very busy and although we had reservations, we had to wait around 412:55 hour to be sat. Luckily, prior to coming, we went around the corner to Billy After Dark, and had a few drinks so the wait wasn't as bad, but there is no seating space while you wait. The bar is not open and you have to have reservations to sit there, but you can order drinks while you're standing. Our server was awesome. We had a few appetizers and everyone at the table and enjoyed their meals. The next time I'm in town I will definitely be back.

The wait for a reservation is worth it! The atmosphere is great, love the whole design. The staff was very friendly and helpful and also looked like they were having a great time working together. The food was amazing, our favorites so far are the Silly Billy, B.A.D & Boujee and the Big Blue Wave. The shashimi was very fresh and the bluefin tuna (medium fat) was perfection! The portions were also large compared to other sushi restaurants we've been too. Overall, we would recommend and are planning to go back sometime to try the other rolls! We didn't get to see Billy, but maybe next time! Note: parking is as expected for being in the north loop/downtown (street parking).

This place is a must go to. The fish is unbelievably fresh and the restaurant has a modern trendy vibe. I come here often!

I am so glad I managed to get in on opening night. I hope this doesn't spoil things or ruin my new favorite spot... I won't tell the exact location but I will tell you to look for the astronaut on the dinosaur. Yes you heard me correctly. Make sure to make a reservation! Lots of neon lights that put you into the coolest speakeasy in town. I absolutely love the concept of the "vibes". The drinks are "vibes" only. It doesn't show the base liquor and you just have to choose what you'd like, spirit forward or citrus forward! I won't spoil you and tell you the drinks we ordered but as you can tell the drinks are super cute. The service is top notch. Drinks are $16 each and I can't wait for them to bring in desserts and other food! 10/10 recommend!

I've been here several times, and the food is always delicious. I wish I could remember our servers name because he was fantastic. He checked on us the right amount of times and made sure our drinks were always full and flowing. The vibe is always nice in here. The only thing I wish is that you could hang out a little longer. The max amount of time you can be at a table is an hour and a half. We just have such a great time we want to keep the night going, but I understand they have other guests that need a table. Just something to be aware of.

Best sushi we've had in a long time. You need to make a reservation ahead of time, but definitely worth the wait.

They described it as an upscale dive bar which I laughed at for sure, but when I went I would say that exactly how I would describe it. It's dark and moody, but very funky and hip with the neon walls and lights. It's very small, behind the new Public Domain space. Seems like the hostesses direct people waiting on a spot there to Neon Tiger while they wait. We were able to snag one of the last tables after we ordered (there are about 5 tables for 2, and 3 standing bar tables from what I remember). The menu isn't large - it has a couple of beers, some basic cocktails and lists spirits and mixers. The only new and exciting thing on the menu is their slushy cocktails. Good news is that this place isn't very pricey, but the portions aren't huge. My small espresso martini was $12, my boyfriend's beer didn't quite look like a full pint but was only $4. We did laugh that it was called Tiger piss. The espresso martini is good, but beware there's no actual cream liquor in the drink - they seem to squirt some foamy concoction from an unmarked squeeze bottle in a fridge on top, which was interesting. Overall, would come back here if I was bar hopping for cocktails - but wouldn't go out of my way to try it again. Great idea to send people here while waiting for Public Domain!

Located inside the Foshay Tower, there's street and valet parking available! We entered through the W hotel lobby and took the elevator up to the 27th floor! It has Prohibition-themed decor, but I wouldn't quite call it a speakeasy, as there wasn't any guise to entering or accessing the space. My only critique is that the space is quite dated, but not in a cool way. It could really use an update to the paint and interior to maintain itself as a "destination" versus just another hotel bar with a view. The bartenders were quite friendly and helpful during our visit. We had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane during our visit! Both cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly made.
