Do your homework on Bill's folks. Yep, they might be one of the larger HVAC companies in the North Idaho/Spokane, WA area, and they do a lot of volume on installs. But install volume covers for shady repair service which I will share next. By the way, this is my second Google review as the first one I posted three weeks ago disappeared. I don't know why. You draw your own conclusions. Our home AC compressor stopped working, called Bill's because they were the original installer of the system 4 yrs. ago. A technician came out and looked at the compressor and told me the 4yr. old Trane unit was grounded out and burned up. That was a hard pill to swallow. I specifically went with Bill's 4 yrs. ago because at the time they were an authorized Trane dealer. I wanted a Trane system, because as they say "It's hard to stop a Trane" They are the old-reliable. The technician said the unit would be replaced under warranty. That part sounded good. Then he told me it would cost $1500 to install the new unit. Yikes! Called around and $1500 was the going rate for installing a new AC compressor. Called Bill's back and talked to the general manager and he dropped the price to $1200. That was slightly more palatable. But it still bothered me that a 4 yr. old Trane system could be burned up. Called Sturm Heating out of Spokane, WA and a technician was sent out. The technician arrived and I stood out with him by the AC compressor while he removed the service panel on the unit. Honest truth, he took off the panel and there very visible, even to my untrained eye, 1 of 3 electrical wires was disconnected! He pointed it out to me and said "that's not right". I said "Ya, why is that wire disconnected?" He connected it back up, reset the contact and the compressor fired right up!!!! Worked as it should and cooled the house down nicely on a 90+ degree day. We had been without AC for three weeks, and it had been hot!!! How could a certified, trained Bill's tech not see a disconnected electrical wire!?!?! Sloppy troubleshooting work by the Bill's technician at best. The worst is I almost spent $1200 to replace an AC unit that wasn't bad! Be aware of Bill's folks. They might have the cheapest install price in town, but this repair service experience with them was just all around terrible. To try and soak me for $1,200 when it was just a disconnected wire. I will call a pig a pig, that's shady business practice! read more

I have been with Bill's Heating & Air since 2018, at first they were great but their customer service has just gone down hill in the past 3 to 4 yrs. They continually cancel apts and this year they didn't do all the scheduled maintance. Mainly not doing the tankless hot water flush as scheduled along with furnace maintance. Two yrs ago they no showed, I used pto time to be there that I could have saved and they no showed and then kept cancelling the rescheduled apts. When I called in the gal at the front office she was a complete jerk to me. I rescheduled for a third time and they still kept cancelling my apts. They finally came & preformed the service months later stating that the water flush is not a priority for them.This year they showed up only to do the furnace maintance & did not do the tankless hot water flush that was also scheduled. The service men stated we ran out of rock salt you'll need to reschedule. Front office didn't even call back to try to reschedule with me. I guess they also don't check their trucks for supplies before heading out to preform pre-scheduled maintances for their customers to make sure they have everything they need to complete the job? They increased their prices to half as much to boot! And then failed to preform all services scheduled. I complained to customer service who stated a he'd pass my number onto his supervisor who has never made any attempt to call me back. They JUST DON'T CARE folks. READ FIRST before you call Bill's Heating. My daughter's family had their furnace go out at 4pm on a Tuesday. Cold weather was expected at night in the teens. Being in the construction industry myself I gave my daughter 7 other heating companies to call before Bill's because their reputation is NOT good among the trades, I will leave it like that. All seven other companies could not get over to her house for a week or two. What could go wrong?......right? Before they started we told Bill's Heating that the hub drain for the condensate line needs to go in the crawl space. They said no plumbers were available today but they would run a temporary line into the washer box and next week they could send the plumber over to hook up the hub drain the the crawl. Seems reasonable enough. They next day I went over to look at their work.......OH MY LORD.....Bill's drilled through four walls about a foot down from the ceiling to run the condensate line into the washer box. It looked like my four year old grandson got the drill and started punching holes. Really unnecessary to drill holes in the wall when they could have laid the line through the hallway for a week. Bill's plumber did come back a few days later to put the hub drain in the crawl. The plumber actually did do good work. Bill's solution to the holes and mess they made of the drywall was to throw some mud over them and leave. I think I would go to Walmart and buy a few space heaters and wait for a week until a professional heating company was available. read more

Finally a business that is honest and puts customers first. We purchased a new (rather expensive) home in Hayden only to find out the fireplace did not work. New to the area we contacted the first business we could find for help. This business inspected the fireplace twice and told us the blower did not work. They said finding a replacement would be difficult but finally found one and for around $700 they could have ours replaced. We decided to look at buying a new fireplace and discovered the cost would be very expensive when you add the cost of the fireplace to the cost of removing and replacing the rock around the fireplace. We contacted Bills to check on fireplaces. They sent Rhett to our home to see about a replacement. Rhett insisted on checking the blower so that we would not have to spend a ton of money (even if they lost an immediate sale) if we did not have to. Rhett discovered that the blower was just fine and it was only the thermostat. His inspection was something we did not ask for and that he did not have to do. The fireplace is working fine and we just have to manually change the fan speed for the time being. We can not thank Rhett and Jacob enough for their honesty and integrity and we will definitely be back to buy a new fireplace next year. They bought us the time and money to settle into our new home. read more

A year ago I bought my new place and I loved my Mini Split Heat/Air module in my old place so I wanted one just like it in my new place. They didn't try to hard-sell me and entertained my options and Nathan the owner sent two guys out that installed it as temps were climbing near 90 and had me cold in just several hours....they are the best for my needs. Really professional normal guys not afraid to get dirty and get it done and make sure all was cosmetically symmetric and not an eyesore of plumbing and wires and they had to do a little carpentry work to make everything come together but they tackled it all and it looks great and works great and the office staff helped me with the extended warranty forms too. Well done everyone. I waited a year to post this because I wanted to see if any problems or issues might arise before I judge them online. We just had a new heat pump installed at our home. We had Zach PP and Marc from Bill's doing the install. Both of these two gentlemen did a phenomenal job with the install. I am shocked at how efficient these two men put together this system. They were courteous and extremely professional. They did a great job of cleaning up the areas they needed to work in and were super friendly the entire time. I had several questions for them that they answered in great detail. I am extremely happy with the service we received. Will definitely recommend Bill's Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone I can. As an after thought we had their electrician Travis do the power connections to our existing service panel. He did a great job as well and was very precise with his work. He also gave us additional options for how to run the power which was nice, we did go with what he recommended as it was the path of least resistance! From the initial consult and estimate to the day the crew showed up to replace our old system, the team was very personable and professional. They were great, knowledgeable people exhibiting great workmanship. From the people in the office, to the guys in the field, NOTHING was overlooked. Rob, our HVAC technician, really listened to us and set us up with a system that matched our needs as well as our budget. The install took about 4-5 hours and the finish work on the units was very clean with all wires and copper lines wrapped and taped up properly. The team really tidied up and left everything looking very clean and nice. Not a scrap left behind. I may sound like a commercial, but I truly believe that Bill's Heating and A/C has set the standard and are the best in their field. If I had to sum it all up in one word I guess that one word would be, WOW! Check 'em out. I called Bills Heating & A/C yesterday and made an appointment for the next day. They sent out Jakob a service tech with Bills Heating & A/C. I have to mention that I had another company in CDA come out twice with NO SUCCESS and yet charged me each time. Jacob detected the problem in less then 10 minutes. He explained to me in great detail what he thought was the problem which was a bad capacitor on my A/C downstairs unit. He was VERY honest and said that he could not warranty the new capacitor if he was to install it and it was to fail. I appreciate the fact that he asked and explained first. I gave him the OK to install the new capacitor and it started up immediately. He took his time and put a thermometer on the register & return and it was blowing cold. He then put the gauges on the unit and double checked that the coolant was at it's proper levels. I will definitely use Bills Heating & A/C again and I will definitely be asking them to send out Jacob. I hope that this review help LB read more

So I called Bills heating and cooling...they came out and said we need a new furnace and quoted us 2500 to 3500 dollars.... called TRADEMARK MECHANICAL ask for Vince. He sent a service guy out and fixed it for 95 bucks. Best money I've ever spent! Bills are charging me for a service they never provided. The gentleman that came out from TM used to work for them and had nothing good to say either. Apparently the only service they provide is to screw you over and take your money. It was a piece of ice in a tube on one of the safety features. Bills heating didn't even bother to bring tools just said we needed a new one. Liars theives and inexperienced. We got an ac unit from them and had multiple problems with it. Maybe TRADEMARK MECHANICAL can fix what they won't. So disappointed. Thanks for saving me 2400 dollars TRADEMARK!!!! I have a Navien tankless hot water heater. Recently the unit has had a string of problems and two different plumbing companies had tried to repair it. The second took a week, was $$$ and only lasted 10 days. I called Bill's on a friend's recommendation for a bid on a new unit. The technician arrived the same day, on schedule to make measurements. I expected just to get a bid. Instead, Rhett the technician examined my Navien, checked the manual, made a few adjustments, and explained what he had done. He clearly knew what he was doing (unlike our last experience with a different company). Rhett was pleasant, courteous, and said our unit (while not guaranteed) was now adjusted correctly and should work fine for another year or more. After he left, he forwarded a very reasonable bid for a new unit for when we need one. We don't yet - our old unit is working better than it has in years. Thank you Rhett and Bill's. I called early this afternoon, hoping for a same day appointment, as my house had been hovering at 64 degrees for a few days. When I realized the furnace wasn't turning on, and I tried everything I knew, I called Bill's Heating. They added me to the list, saying when a technician was leaving a scheduled appointment in my area, they would call and come over. I kept my fingers crossed. Sure enough, Jessie called to tell me he and Ricky would arrive in 10 minutes. They were rockstars! They asked me a few questions, tested the furnace and, in, literally, seconds, they had the furnace running. They were sooooooo knowledgeable, polite and helpful! As they were leaving, I asked about a smart thermostat I've been considering for awhile, and Jessie told me about Avista's rebate program. Cudos to Daten Bennett. We moved into our new home last December. Our NEST thermostat was explained to us, however, fifteen minutes after the representative left, I forgot 90% of what he showed me. I even got on YouTube to obtain more info as we were given absolutely no instructions with the NEST. We did have the box it came in. Young Daten was very patient with my wife and me. I'm 'old school' with some knowledge of computers, however, the Net, cell phones, the Google Home MIni, etc, eluded me. Daten watched me enter setup, guiding me every step of the way including downloading and setting up the remote app in the Google Play Store. Our furnace was not working properly and when I called ( Jan 3) I received an immediate response and service the next day. Complete diagnostic with the service call and no extra charge. Also, the service charge was very inexpensive compared to every company out there. We decided a whole new furnace was needed as ours was over 25yrs old and barely limping along. Was pleasantly surprised at the low quote of a well-known brand. The new furnace was installed this morning (Jan 6). The installers (employees) were extremely polite, friendly, and professional. I know removing the old furnace was difficult but they didn't mind. They had my new furnace up and running within a couple of hours. One of them even shoveled my walkway. If I could, I would give them 10 stars for the whole process from beginning to end. read more

Great company! The technician (Doug) they sent was very knowledgeable with my AC unit and told me right away what was going on. Even told me what to do if it went out again while the part was on order. The part did take a little longer to get in but that was because of the company they purchased the part from sent it to somewhere in Oregon and not CDA like they were told. At the time of the installation he (Doug) even showed me the broken part and how hot it was for trying to work to cool off the house. The installation took just about an hour and now my family is enjoying the AC once again :) We will gladly recommend this company (and Doug) to anyone who needs a repair, I know we will be calling back if we have any further problems with our unit in years to come :) read more

Our AC unit went out on us yesterday morning and we called to see about getting someone to come out and see what needed to be done to hopefully fix it. Within an hour we had a couple technicians at our door. Turns out our Ac unit had to be replaced. I had assumed we would probably have to wait a few days before getting our new AC unit installed but they were here at our door at 7 am and had our new unit installed within a couple of hours. If I had to sleep one more night in what felt like the Sahara desert I would have honestly died lol..but thanks to Bills we only had to suffer one night and had our diagnoses and replacement all within 24 hours. He was professional, smart, and understood what needed to be done. When he came back to inspect the system after the installation, still very informative, and very professional.
