We had a tech come diagnose our system on 07/10/25. He was professional and kind. After 40 minutes, he let me know my capacitor was faulty and He wouldn't be able to tell me anything else until after he replaced the faulty part. I'm not sure what he was looking at for 40 minutes if he can't diagnose anything until the capacitor is replaced. Besides that point, he quoted me another $380 to replace the faulty part. That did include labor but he made it clear there was zero guarantee on the new part or that it would correct the problem.. I paid 206 after tax for the opportunity to pay another 400. My major complaint is that A high quality capacitor is $20 everywhere online. A little more for American. I replaced it start to finish with no experience, in 15 minutes. That level of gross product and labor mark up is criminal. Period. Any company with integrity would have included the 15 minutes of labor in the replacement and diagnostic costs. And followed up with an actual competent comprehensive diagnosis. My minor complaint is after his extortionate quote, he started referring to a sales and financing team to get me to buy a new system. My system is older but fully functional after the capacitor replacement. read more

Here we are six months after we had to replace our heat pump and furnace and I'm still extremely annoyed by this company. Three things to beware of: 1. If there is any potential problem with your instillation, they take you off the schedule to be rescheduled at a later date. If I wouldn't have called repeatedly for an update and with options to get the work done, we probably would have gone all summer without AC. 2. The sales guy was nice and all, but terrible with follow up. Also told me the entire thing would be covered under the loan with 'their preferred company," but it wasn't, and now they are calling me for the remainder every damn week. I get it, they want to be paid, but the experience was so horrible, they didn't give us any kind of discount or anything(okay, they gave us two years free of their twice a year check up service, which I tried to set up pre-winter checkup, not return call) after our terrible experience, they can write off the difference or wait patiently. 3. The front line workers are empathetic, gracious, and great. In fact, they were the best part of the experience. But I ended talking with management and felt like they didn't give a rip about our situation and the expectations being set with me. That was so disappointing and disheartening, I cannot go silent. Overall, I can't give a terrible rating because of the hardworking people who worked on our house and tried to help us as things came up. But there were so many issues that I can't ignore the fact that our experience was pretty terrible overall. read more

Holliday was paid by my mother in advance for service to her furnace and ac. They never showed up last fall for service so she called and scheduled a service call in March this year. She is 85 and now a widow so I guess the technician saw a easy mark. He inspected the furnace in the attic and then proceeded to tell her she had holes in the heat exchanger and it would need to be replace soon. He said going unattended would lead to carbon monoxide to leak in the house. Let me be clear, if there were cracks or holes in the heat exchanger then it is very possible for carbon monoxide to enter the house. After quoting her over 2000 dollars for a new heat exchanger the technician told her there was one in town but if she waited and they had to order one it would be an additional 300 fee for shipping. Being skeptical about this we decided on a second opinion. Doing so was well worth it. I went into the attic with a service technician from a more reputable company to investigate the problems. The first thing the new technician discovered was a temperature sensor that Holliday removed from the furnace and left hanging by the wire. This sensor apparently let's the furnace know to shut down if it gets to hot. This can lead to damage to the heat exchanger so it was unusual and suspicious. Upon further inspection no holes or cracks were found in my mother's furnace. The technician kindly replaced the thermostat where it should have been and the checked for any carbon monoxide leaks. There were none. The technician finished his inspection and did not charge my mother for the call. I notified Holliday with my concerns and was told they would get back to me. They never bothered. I requested the money back that my mother paid Holliday in advance. Beware of Holliday heating. They are not trustworthy and always get a second opinion when someone tells you that a expensive repair is needed. By the way my mother's house and furnace is not even 12 years old. Shame on Hollidsy for trying to take advantage of the elderly. read more

They were great the first year. But I renewed my membership for an annual maintenance. This does NOT include cleanings. I have one thing on my report that said checked and cleaned condensation trap. They said my blower and condenser need cleaning. Ok fine. But WITH the discount it was still over $1000. My furnace is a little over 2 years old. The membership is about $350. There also is a squeak that was there a year ago. They fixed it. And now it is back and they said its because it needs cleaning. Last year they told me it was because of a seal that wasn't done properly and they basically Jerry rigged it with a screwdriver to fix it. Well it's back and they are blaming the squeaking on the blower being dirty. I asked for a more senior tech to come and reevaluate it. They said they would but it it's because of a dirty blower I have to pay ANOTHER $189 diagnostic fee. If it is something from before there is no fee. The first tech seemed new and uncertain so I wanted a more tenured tech to evaluate because the last guys were great. But this has been nothing short of frustrating. Customer service was really nice but everyone she went to talk to "service disbatch" she had a lot of things to say that were about their tech being right and I was mistaken and likely my assumption being incorrect and additional fees. I'm waiting my photos and refund of my membership she promised. I just wanted a free second opinion by an experienced tech and they were unwilling to provide that unless they could prove it was the same issue as before. I wasn't willing to risk almost $200 for a second opinion. I would have accepted it if they were willing to reevaluate. She was willing to help until she kept leaving to talk to disbatch. Had an issue with our Reme Halo. Brian, the technician, came out and assessed it, and it needed to be replaced (sounds like that's an unusual circumstance for this unit). Our elderly furnace decided to die on us last week and it was a minor emergency to find a new one asap. Winter can be cruel in Spokane and having a toddler in an unheated house was not doable for long. We got a couple of quotes and Holliday was by far the best company for the job. Our first call to Holliday was last summer during 90+ weather and our A/C conked out. They came out that same day and we had cool in very short order. I was impressed to the point I bought their service package, so on this day in January the came out again to perform a service checkup of our heating system - this was included in the package so no charge. TJ was our tech, and he did a great job, and showed me what was needing more attention and what was going well. There was no pressure to buy anything today, just need to make an appointment maybe before summer to do the maintenance work. TJ also installed a smart thermostat at a discount (the package, remember) and helped us fill out the Avista rebate form. I asked if they had any recommendations at all who I could contact- they gave me Holliday's number. Trisha answered my call and was so very sweet to me in my panicked state. She made an appointment for the next day, but told me one of her technicians was running early. She said she would keep an eye on him and if it was possible to squeeze us in, she would. After seeing numerous positive online reviews for them, I made Holliday one of my interviews for installing a new furnace and A/C unit. The initial consult went well, so I selected them and scheduled the installation. Every employee I encountered, from Trisha at the office, to Tom at the consultation, to Mitch who explained the products and helped me choose an option, to Courtland and James who did the install, was great. I appreciated the unfailing courtesy, knowledge, and professionalism from everyone. However, I have to give a special shout out to Tyler, one of their technicians. The new furnace stopped working the day after it was installed. I called the 24 hour service number and Tyler came to my house on Easter morning to fix the problem. It wound up being an issue with a small component that was easily fixed. Tyler was cheerful and informative, despite being called out on a holiday morning. Scheduled a service appointment for a real-estate transaction. Soonest appointment was a week out. They called me at 1:16pm the day prior while I was at work to confirm. I called them immediately after getting off work at 4:31pm and they had cancelled my appointment. They were willing to reschedule for later that day but I had already made appointments for my realtor to provide access to the property. It was an inconvenience since I had another appointment for septic at the same time. The realtor ended up making two trips the same day due to the cancellation. I needed to complete the inspection for closing, otherwise I would have called someone else. When considering hiring Holliday Heating, I would advise calling someone else. read more

I called and scheduled them to come out and give me a quote for an air conditioning installation. I believe their last appointments are scheduled for 4 or 430 but I'm not off till 430. I really wanted this quote so I arranged for someone to be here. The lady I spoke to said she would talk to the techs and see if it would be possible to have them come at 5 so I could be there. She called later and said yes, someone was able to come at 5. I then told my person they didn't have to come over. I then completely double booked myself and scheduled another appt at 445. I didn't want to have to cancel or reschedule the quote appt, so I arranged for my person to come over again since I screwed up. The day before my appointment, they called to remind me and said it was at 4. I called them back and said, no, you were able to change it to 5. They agreed and said they'd make a note. The day of the appt, as I'm driving home, the guy calls and asks where I am/if I'll be there. I tell him again that we had scheduled it for 5, but I should be home around 410 or so. The guy, my person and I all arrived about the same time. We introduced ourselves and I sincerely apologized for double booking the appt, and he appeared fine. I confirmed he had my email and he said he'd call. When I came home, they had left and my person said the guy was going to call me the following day to go over everything and give me the quote. The next day came and went, as did the following days and he never called. I was really pleased with how quickly the woman called to let me know about how they were willing to schedule to schedule it at 5, but then grew frustrated that they apparently never wrote it down and kept telling me the wrong time, and then he came and never gave me a quote read more

Our AC acted up with a loud noise. Of course it was in the heat wave that is only worsening. Being new to Deer Park and not knowing who to call, we remembered an ad for Holliday Heating and Cooling . Doc, the owner, claimed to "treat customers like family." We were about to find out and called them. After all, family helps any time we would call for help. My wife Tammie called and got a hold of Amy. She was very concerned about our situation as we have cats an how hot it was. She told us they were on it and would have someone arrive that night. Our call was at 5pm. She stayed in contact with us letting us know that Steven would be there in a few hours. Amy also kept us posted as to his arrival and for us not to worry. What a sweetheart. Steven arrived about 900 pm. He had already put in 11 hours, but was happy to help us. Steven was AWESOME, on the ball and VERY thorough. He allowed us to tag along and learn about our system while he repaired it. Great attitude and really knew his profession. It took him 90 minutes and he made sure every possible thing was checked until he was sure it was fixed and we were ok. THAT is what a family member would do. We were so impressed we joined the membership for by annual checks of our system which saved us a lot on the after hours call and service. They cared about us, our safety comfort and our pocketbook. This 1 star is for not delivering the promise of great work, great service and standing behind your work. We got a VERY pricey quote from this company, but due to their great ratings, decided to use them. We needed a new system as our old one was put in badly and never worked correctly. The installed in May. In July, the AC was blowing warm air. They came out to fix it, but said "oh, they never hooked that up, that's why it wasn't working". Worked great again until it dropped to the teens at night, then I needed space heaters to keep the house warm (which was why we purchased a new system to begin with). Called them out. They came- decided the problem was nobody set the thermostat controller to kick on the emergency heat. They left and within 1 hour, the temp dropped another 4 degrees. I called them back out. They then figured out that the controller was bad. Then we were told it was the one from our old system. We were never told, nor did we expect, that parts of our old system were being kept and used. They then recommend we go away from the 2 zone option to 1 zone and accused us of choosing the 2 zone and said we were told it wasn't a good option. When we chose- we choose the option that was recommended by their person at the HIGHEST price point. Now I ask- who would choose the highest pay option if they were warned it was a poor choice- oh, and why recommend something you don't think would work?? Long story short, when I spoke with Chris- the owner, there was a lot of blaming us and not taking responsibility for their work. I was then told they would convert it to one zone for free to "make it right" and come through on their 5 star reputation, or I could pay to keep it a 2 zone. We chose to do the free option, having already dumped $12,000 in to this. They did the work, billed me and when I refused to pay, said they never said they would do it for free. SERIOUSLY???? Eventually agreed to not charge me, but told me we were "parting ways". Wow! Save your $$ and save the haste. Choose someone else. This owner clearly isn't the owner that made this company 5 stars. read more

I am so relieved I called Holliday heating. First of all the receptionist was very caring and told me everything that was going to happen before I even scheduled. She wasn't one of those people who talked super fast. So she made sure I understood everything. Next thing was the person they sent out. He was very thorough and took his time. Thank god he actually spent the time to look cause the simplest fix of loose screws could have resulted in a total loss of the unit we had just bought a few months ago. I actually had a diff company come out a few days before Holliday heating and they didn't even turn the unit off to look inside. He did see a loose screw but said it was nothing serious. I called Holliday cause I could hear something wrong and it was so annoying to me. Little did I know that my fan was about to fall off because of the loose screws the other company saw but decided not to fix! Def recommend Holliday heating. Courteous and helpful: Called to have estimate for replacement of gas water heater. Chris came promptly, inspected the heater and shame on me, it's electric, not gas. Chris advised that his company only handles gas water heaters and kindly took me over the hurdles as to what gas line installation, etc. would cost and concluded that it would be much better for us to merely replace the electric heater. In spite of the fact that I wasted his time with a non-existent estimate, he treated me as though I was a long-time, valued customer instead of a dingus who did not know gas from electric . . . would recommend and will definitely call Holliday should we have any issues with our gas appliances/heating. read more
