The shrimp was really small, but it was good, everyone else had burgers and really enjoyed them. The service was really good, it was a nice place right on the golf course. I was working in Coldwater MI and looking for a good seafood dinner.Found Bills on Yelp and menu looked good. Pulled in and found its ar a golf course ...... worried . Staff was very friendly and good service. Got the seared tuna steaks, broccoli and Caesar salad. Tuna steaks were done perfect served with wasabi and fresh ginger. Caesar salad was perfect. This is the restaurant at the Coldwater Golf Course, and the same ownership as Bill's Steakhouse with a slightly more robust menu. The venue itself is nice, with multiple dining rooms and a spacious bar. The actual bar itself is a great place to watch sports or eat a meal, the kinda place you could hang out and spend time with good people. As for the food, the bang bang shrimp was a little underwhelming, but the pickle spears were pretty solid. The wedge salad was tasty as well. For the main event I went with the porterhouse, it was slightly over (I asked for medium rare) but near the bone it was good and all said and done it was a good steak for a good value. We ate at Bills Grill last night and the only highlight was the service and very cold draft beer. I ordered the "lake perch" and it was absolutely terrible. I lived on Lake Eire for over 50 years, and I know yellow perch. I've caught, cleaned, cooked and eaten perhaps thousands in those years. There was absolutely no taste and I had to actual cut the filets with a knife because they were so tough. . We had onion rings and they were greasy and not crisp. I believe that the oil was not hot enough for proper frying. My wife had the fish combo platter with cod, lake perch and another fish. She said that they were all tasteless. We took the leftovers home and will be throwing they away. We will not be returning to Bills. Maybe we should have had burgers. read more

The service is very good and the atmosphere is kinda laid back and relaxing. The noise levels vary depending on how many other patrons are there. Their Mushroom & Swiss burger is excellent , but they run it as a Special so it isn't always on the Main Menu. So if that's what you crave, you need to call ahead to see if it's available on that particular day. read more

Just meh We really want to like this place but we just can't seem to both get a decent meal at the same time. Baked potatoes are amazing if you get there on the right day at the right time. Who reviews a potato you ask? Well if you know you know. Crispy skin, fluffy flaky hot center so steamy and delicious butter isn't necessary. Who am I kidding? Butter is always a good idea. But only if your tater is hot hot hot out of the oven. Haven't had one of those since my first visit. The blue cheese is also hit or miss. Omg this stuff is so good when it's good and all mayo when it's not. The bang bang shrimp is usually always a good choice and the fish tacos are pretty good too. It is Monday and my favorite chop house in Jonesville was closed, so, I drove 25 minutes to Bill's hoping for a steak like the one they had on the website. What a disappointment The 14 oz ribeye was a 1/4 inch thick, 3 pieces meat like thing, attached with a string of same meat; no more than 7-8 oz. The "medium well "was an "over cooked well done" that felt like a piece of rubber. Asparagus for additional $2 were several tiny thin strings w/o a taste. No bread. The ribeyes were good, filet a little tough, prime rib was not a prime rib. After I asked they assured me it was. I've eaten a lot of prime rib and prime rib it was not. Terrible. We stopped coming here years ago because we got food poisoning. A neighbor suggested we try again. We tried it out Saturday night. Took a bit to get service. Lots of people standing around. Once we got a waitress, she was excellent. Bang bang shrimp was good. Dinner was awful. My husband got the sirloin. He said it was the worst steak he ever had. I got the tuna. Some pieces were ok, some were tough. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Very sad read more

I think I found the best burger around. This half pound burger was cooked to order and was full of flavor. I also liked their choice of bun which I think was a chabatta bread and the seasoned fries. My wife had the B.L.T.E. bacon lettuce tomato and egg. She enjoyed it and said it tasted good. My daughter had the chicken strips and also said they were good. Received 3 large strips with sauce. Didn't see much on the inside as I was focused looking out the window watching the golfers and boats go by on the lake. I enjoyed the view so much I didn't turn around to look much on the inside. My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a vacation home in nearby Union City. We drove up with my in-laws to conduct the property inspection, and were looking for a nice spot for a casual lunch before heading back home. Found Bill's Grill here on Yelp and it looked solid so we stopped in. First off, kudos to them for observing social distancing protocols and all staff we saw were wearing masks - great job! Our server was very friendly and answered all of our menu questions. We had the cheese curds and pickle fries as appetizers and both were excellent. I loved how the pickles were cut into 'french fry' sizes pieces rather than entire pickle spears like some places do. For entress, I had the BLTE with cheese, my wife had the Salty Mother Clucker chicken sandwich, and my in-laws had a bacon cheeseburger and the greek burger. All entrees were hot, cooked perfectly, and very tasty. We also ordered the White Truffle Louisiana Chicken Wings to share and they were the star of the show, just fantastic! Nice and crispy, good sized wings and the truffle hot sauce had just the right amount of kick. A very unique wing, loved them! The only minor thing I would note is that I wish you could order just the wings as a shareable or appetizer - they are only available as an entree w/2 sides for $18. Since we wanted to try the wings (and glad we did!) we ordered it anyway and the sides went uneaten since we all already had sides with our entrees. Happy to stumble upon this place for some good bar eats and we will be back once we are spending time in our new home! read more

Our first visit to Bill's was a great experience! The food and service was phenomenal. We really looked forward to returning. When we went for our second visit, we docked the boat but were told they had computer issues and were closing early at 6:30. They attempted to help us out but the kitchen was closed. Today's visit, again, led to disappointment when they were closed to the public for an event. Would be great if there were social media posts or signs at the dock to update the status to avoid wasting time and being disappointed. read more

We were returning back to Michigan from a 5 week trip out west in our motorhome & decided to stop for one more night & a good dinner to celebrate our fabulous trip. I did a search & found Bills Grill. Their menu showed a good choice of seafood (me) & steaks (hubby). Plus it was on a golf course for a good view out the large dining room windows. We ate a lot of restaurants on our trip & it took coming back to Michigan to have THE BEST meal ever!!! I had perch & hubby had a ribeye steak, which he said was EXCELLENT. My plate of perch was also amazing . I can't say enough good things about this restaurant & its staff. Also, ask for rolls....they are melt in your mouth good...oh and their HOMEMADE bleu cheese dressing is "eat it with a spoon" good!!! By all means, visit Bills Grill read more

Nice restaurant on a golf course overlooking Coldwater River. We came in about an hour before closing. Not busy at all. Hostess saw us, left, and didn't come back to seat us for about 5 more minutes. We didn't mind as we weren't in a hurry, just something to note. Our server didn't take our drink orders for another 10 minutes or so. The food came out pretty quickly and was great! We had the seared tuna and the fried cod, both with baked potatoes and broccoli. The tuna was fresh and had amazing flavor, and the cod was breaded lightly so it was nice and airy, and tasted great with some lemon! After we had been finished for a while, a different person came to clean up our plates, and then our server came about 25 minutes later to ask if we wanted the check. We would've easily been out before closing if they had not waited so long to check in or bring us the bill. The food was great, but the wait staff could use some improvement. The prime rib and baked potato were cold and the meat was tough and over cooked after ordering medium rare. We were there with 10 others and most ordered the steak. It was the worst steak I've ever been served. I could not cut through the steak. It was all fatty. My husbands and several others complained that the steak was tough to cut. The baked potatoes could have used another 15-20 minutes. Our waitress was above excellent. Never had a bad meal here. Me and the wife have ate here several times and will continue to in the future. My favorite has to be the ribeye while my wife loves their bluegill dinner. As far as appetizers go the stuffed mushrooms are always a good way to start your meal. Even when busy the waiting staff has always been excellent. Now my my only complaint, their coleslaw is not to my liking. Everybody has their own way of making coleslaw and I'm sure some people like it just not me. We came on a Saturday night at 6pm. We waited an hour and a half for our food. 30 mins for drinks from the bar. 1 hour in they gave us some rolls to "hold us over". Bills Grill at the Coldwater Country Club. Ordered "Thick Cut" Tenderloin Fillet Med Well $18.99, was told it was about an inch and a half thick. It was served butterflied at about a half to three-quarters of an inch thick. The Steak outside char was extreme as if it was over cooked, and tasted burnt, yet the fillet was still somewhat tender. When I asked, they said " that's how its done at all steakhouses!...??? Coleslaw was littered with a TON of celery seed and was not edible . Jumbo shrimp were food service grade frozen not fresh or wild. Service was good. Food was out in 35-40 minutes. Restaurant was almost half full. Crab stuffed mushroom caps seemed absent of any crab, bland and very cheesy. Atmosphere was pleasant and the view of the lake was excellent. Craft Beer and wine choice was nice. I am bummed to receive such a poor meal with such an awesome location. Stick to the sandwich menu. read more
