The Bent Prop Pub is a great little restaurant located right on Coldwater Lake. It has ample parking across the street and a boat dock that can accommodate ~6-7 boats for lake access. We dined upstairs (Pub on lower level) and had some excellent food. The Garlic Breaded Cheese Curds are amazing (cubed cheese) and recommend either/or Marinara and Ranch. The Pretzel was also very good, but the standout was the bar cheese sauce, which appears more of a creamy fondue than straight cheese wiz and was very flavorful. Main dishes were the Pollock Fish Basket with Fries, Chicken Quesadilla with Lime Rice and the Steak Bites App with a side of Broccoli. Everything was very good,l and the food was hot and service super fast. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and dining right on the lake is always a plus. Plus we didn't have a wait arriving at 6:30ish on a Saturday evening. Bent Prop Pub earned a five star review due to its food, ambiance, staff and being a nice little gem of a restaurant and pub tucked away in a sleepy section of the Eastern shore of Coldwater Lake. Awesome ambiance! This is right on the water. If you go downstairs you can sit outside in the screened section looking right at the lake. Or you can choose to sit inside. The food was good! For our appetizer, We got the Prop Bites (Cheese Curds) they were good but quite salty. My husband and I both got the Grouper strips. They were really good. The breading was a little thicker than we like but it was good, as were their chips and coleslaw. Anna was great! The service was very quick! We had our apps within 5 minutes! It's been a few years since I've been here, but we were out on Coldwater Lake and wanted some lunch for the boat, so we thought pizza would be good. You can dock up, walk in and either dine in or take your food out. Ordering by phone was easy and they texted us when they were ready, pretty quick. Unfortunately the pizzas themselves were a let down. 2 large with toppings and 1 small cheese for $70. The toppings were sparse, compare our pizzas va the photos on their website, and the cheese on the cheese pizza was cheddar. The crust was thin and crispy, similar to Dominos thin. Probably will pass on pizza here next time. The ambiance seems nice here. Also, they serve The Chocolate Shop ice cream from Wisconsin which I did not get to try, but it is says super premium ice, which is ice cream on another level. A few examples of super premium include Costco brand vanilla, Trader Joe's vanilla, Members Mark super premium at Sam's, and Aldi Super Premium vanilla. I think the Kirkland is the best. read more

We came here with a group last Friday and everyone really enjoyed it. The food and service were both excellent. The liked the location on the lake and would definitely come back if we were back in the area. It was a casual atmosphere and overall I'd highly recommend especially in the summer. read more

I'm shocked at these high reviews! We went to lunch there today, and it was BAD. Everything is ridiculously overpriced. I realize it's on the lake, but geez. 6 bone in wings are $17! I had the chicken club which was rubbery and super overcooked. The menu says it's hand breaded, but it sure wasn't. The young lady serving us was super snippy. We tried the cheese curds as an appetizer which were strangely chalky and definitely frozen product. The only passable thing was that salmon my friend had on her salad was cooked nicely and a good portion. What a waste of money. read more

Well, apparently they had an off night, 1st clue was downstairs was closed: Hum, possible staffing issues??? service was good, some of the food was good and others were worthy of being sent back but it appeared the kitchen was struggling as it was. Previous experiences this place has been great, but this time we were super disappointing. The power went out and no one came out to tell us anything that was happening. We ordered out food and waited LITERALLY 30 minutes before they came out and told us they cant make our food. So we were sitting there with no information for awhile. Then they finally told us and made us pay for our drinks and we had to leave. Very rude and disappointing. Manager needs to do better. read more

Coldwater could use more flavor and customer service like they've got at the Bent Prop. We rarely make it out there, but have declared it far superior to our other regular spots in branch county. The food was ALL delicious, the pretzel was the size of my face and actually came with beer cheese instead of nacho cheese. The staff checked in on us frequently and always with a smile. There were lots of staff buzzing around interacting with their tables. And the people there all seemed very happy to be there. It's just a great ambiance to be around cheerful people and great food, and especially when they have a live band playing! 10/10 recommend the Bent Prop! We will be back very soon! read more

My amazing DIL found this spot for us to have lunch between a wedding and a reception. It was a gorgeous sunny fall day and the view was amazing. We had too many in our party to sit on the outer area but we had a view from everywhere inside. The staff were friendly, the appetizers were delicious. We had the fried avocado, lobster bites and cheese cubes and they were hot, fresh and delicious. I had the crispy chicken chipotle wrap and it was very good. We all were pleased with our meals. May 2021 - Great view of Coldwater Lake and great food. I had the Cuban and my wife had the Michigan cherry salad (she loved it: "a nice mix of different kinds of lettuce and lots of candied pecans"). The service was friendly and attentive. This meal was ready in about 40 minutes, it was perfect timing. However, when I got it back to the house and opened everything up, I had asked for extras like ranch for fries and ketchup, mayo and mustard on the side for the Cuban so it didnt get soggy, and none of that was in the bag. I also ordered the $5 mac and cheese and it was Kraft mac and cheese with extra cheese sprinkled on top. The meal was decent, but it was lacking in a few areas. It was good if you need something when you are running late. I am giving this a 3 but if I were to eat there most likely would change this to a 4. read more

This is getting 4 stars based on the awesome service of our waiter. We sat on the porch downstairs and this dark haired young man let us know that the kitchen was swamped and how long entries would take. We opted for an appetizer that the kitchen still couldn't handle in a timely matter but our server continued to check on us and let us know what was going on. So this is as honest a review that I'll ever do with pictures included. I have always wanted this venue to succeed, but their staff is very new and getting used to the job and the demands. I'm not saying they aren't friendly but they lack in the servicing experience field. This place is a sweet venue with a great view of Coldwater lake and plenty of space for a large party or if you're by yourself and you want to belly up at the bar. Now digging in, their appetizers may be their best value pick. The pretzel and spinach dip is a must before your meal with drinks. I wouldn't suggest their pizza if you are a connoisseur because it doesn't live up to the price. Now the boneless wings are fantastic, whether you go hot sauce or bbq! We would love if one level of the establishment was dedicated to a younger crowd and another was for more family reservations or an older crowd! My party felt like that would continue business coming through the summer and beyond! We will always be customers here because I love how the wait staff grinds to make sure you're taken care of!
