The Double Oak Old Fashioned was top notch, and the Saugatuck Lake Street Lager was the perfect beer to go with the BBQ. Great food, great drinks, great vibes, and genuinely wonderful service. There was an awkward pause, so I finally asked the young lady if she was going to answer my question. She eventually did. I then asked about an online menu, and she said they didn't have one, followed by, "I have to go," and she hung up. I sincerely hope she was just having a bad day, because if this is how the business operates--or what they allow their employees to get away with--they have a serious problem. There is simply no excuse for being rude to a potential new customer. I was calling because I was interested in trying their pizza and potentially becoming a customer. Unfortunately, after that experience, I will never darken their door or spend a dime there. First impressions matter, and this one was certainly not a good one.

The brewery is only open on certain days in certain hours, so I messaged through Facebook to ask a few questions and the owner was incredibly responsive. They made all the generations of our family feel very welcome, especially my little girl! Even all of the other customers were equally as welcoming and chatty. I only wish they were open a little bit later so we could stay longer! Definitely worth the trip, however, keep in mind they are a little bit hidden on the side of the road :)

Also, they serve The Chocolate Shop ice cream from Wisconsin which I did not get to try, but it is says super premium ice, which is ice cream on another level. A few examples of super premium include Costco brand vanilla, Trader Joe's vanilla, Members Mark super premium at Sam's, and Aldi Super Premium vanilla. I think the Kirkland is the best.
