I have not yet had the pleasure of trying anything off of Fatbird's normal menu. I'll try to keep this review quick since it is pretty specific but long story short, we loved the unique and well made food and the service and vibes were great! So while Fatbird is known for their chicken sandwiches, my bf and I ordered the $40 lunch for two from this special 2026 menu, which was heavily indigenous Latin American-inspired in the ingredients. For the starter, we shared 8 sweet plantains slices which were yummy but we wish we had more. Then for our main, we split one grilled jerk chicken sandwich with VERY unique ingredients like a pickled green tomato as well as two creative tacos with tender shredded pork and more pickled veg. The tacos were spicy as heck and definitely not for the faint of heart! Lastly, we split a small bowl of arrow con leche brule, which helped bring the heat down from the tacos. While we didn't leave full, we had fun trying a curated and very unique set of dishes with interesting flavors, textures, and spices. The other 4 people we ate lunch with ordered a variety of stuff from the normal menu, some of which are in my attached pictures. My bf also ordered himself a pineapple tepache to sip on, which was $8, and I got myself a diet coke with lemon ($3). Our waitress was on top of her game and was very friendly. The interior is cute and spacious and the bathroom is cute and clean. I love a clean bathroom! Their normal menu has 8000 things I want to try next time! As for this special menu lunch, we paid, after tax, tip, and a credit card surcharge, a total of $67. A bit high for lunch, but good vibes all around!

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. The weather was perfect so Manny's was open up to the outside so this open plan concept meant that there was plenty of seating and pets could join in the fun! I will make sure to bring my dog here next time. My sweet, little old doggy is very social so he would love to come here! There are soooo many huge TVs all around the space. According to their website, they have 30+ TVs, plenty of seating, and quite a few indoor games like basketball and darts. We didn't make reservations but also didn't need to wait for a table. Our waitress was new and inexperienced and forgot to get us ice water, coasters, and later on, silverware and napkins. I went up a few times to ask for these from the bar staff. So the vibes were great and the service was meh... how was the food? For drinks, I got the "Here Comes the Bloom" ($12), an Empress gin cocktail and my bf got the spicy pineapple tequila cocktail ($12), which I wasn't a fan of. But I liked mine! They also have a few sports-themed signature cocktails on their menu. The four of us then shared chips and a trio of dip ($10, paid by the other couple) for an appetizer. The queso was very yummy! If the chips were warmed up, this would have been epic. As for the mains, I got a taco salad with shredded chicken and no olives ($14). Not a healthy salad by any means but I thought the portion was good and the veggies fresh. My bf got the Latin salad with shredded chicken ($10 + $5 for added chicken). He had previously gotten the cilantro lime bowl ($10 + $5 for chicken) a few months ago and couldn't decide which he liked better. Our friends ordered a burger + kettle chips drizzled with garlic sauce ($13) and 6 boneless wings ($10). They liked the burger but thought the wings were just average. Overall, the food was above average bar food but we will definitely be back here again! It is a great location to watch a big sports game and the offerings from the attached taco truck look very enticing. Plus, they graciously gave us a $20 off $50 coupon at the end of our meal which was such a lovely gesture. I don't watch too much sports, but when I do, I like watching them in places like these.
