If you choose to visit, which I cannot recommend, stick to the drinks listed. Do not ask for adjustments. However, there is an item on the menu called "Tell Matt your mood". For me, that implies staff can craft drinks that, perhaps, are not on the menu for your liking... WARNING: Ignore that item. It must have been added by mistake :) Staff will become bothered. I really had high hopes for this cocktail bar. This was an after dinner stop, for my wife and I, to complete a date night. I'd heard of Spirited and understood that they recently underwent a change in owners. This completely revamped bar was the product of that. It's dark, moody and honestly gets the ambience right. Shout out to your design team. This is what I want out of my cocktail bars. Borderline inappropriately low lighting that's enough to read the drink menu only. So looks, check. There were two people working, guy and girl. The female was very friendly. The guy, didn't catch his name, was less so. He wasn't rude or anything. Just...short. With almost everything. If you're the bartender at an establishment like this, you kinda have to have people skills. Now, for the drinks. TRAAAAAASH! My hypothetical throat hurts from screaming that so loud. I don't know if we caught this spot on an off night or what but the drinks were awful. Like the ratios were completely off. My wife said he drink wasn't great and he added some agave, I believe. There was no hope for mine. I feel like the drinks want to be creative based on the ingredients, but the execution just didn't land. I really love the drink options and the vegetarian options at this place. I think it's cute and trendy inside. I also especially love that there's paper straws instead of plastic. I wish they were open during the day because it'd be the perfect spot to stop by and grab lunch. The prices are very reasonable. My only complaint: I asked the mixologist to make my drink without lemon because I'm allergic. She responded that she "guessed" she could but warned me that it would change the taste of the drink. I was a little dumbfounded by the exchange. She then proceeded to recommend whiskey drinks to me the rest of the night because they didn't have lemon and the taste of the drink wouldn't be altered. I can't say enough positive things about Spirited! 1.) The prices are good! I walk out every single time feeing like I robbed the place. 2.) The cocktail game is uncomfortably unique but ridiculously delicious! My personal favorite menu'd cocktail is the Not A Colada! We were seriously blown away by the options here. Almost every entree was vegetarian and/or gf or could be modified to be--and even if it wasn't veg, it would have been amazing food. But that's not it... We were also so happy and excited about the variety and caliber of cocktails offered. It was like tiki bar level cocktails with vegan and gluten free food. The rum old fashioned I had wasn't my favorite but I'm partial to whiskey ones, so it's my fault for ordering it. They selection overall was on point ranging in price from $7 to $10. Or you can get spirits on their own. Didn't get a chance to try the food so can't speak to that. But I did notice some nice vegetarian and vegan dishes if that's your thing. I had the chance to visit Spirited while some friends and I were celebrating my brothers birthday. When I imagine a cocktail style bar, I imagine that it'll either have a real rustic look or be really nice. This place had neither. It was poorly lit (not in a good way), bland decor, and no real seating areas. I recognized the bartender from a similar place in Goshen. I really wish she would have stuck with that place. Or maybe she owns both, who knows? All in all, if they stepped up their game decor and seating wise, I'd probably comeback. Please remember that you're in DTSB. You're either a dive or super nice. However, the South Bend Tribune reported on January 10, 2021 that Spirited has been purchased by Navarre Hospitality Group who plans to keep the Spirited name, but offer a newer concept with a more speakeasy and whiskey-bar theme. Could not believe how rude the bartender was. He wasn't very friendly from the get go, but after I accidentally knocked over my drink on the bar while talking to a friend, he became very hostile (it was just an accident, I had only had one drink and it didn't happen because I was overserved or anything...). He glared at me as I said I was sorry and then disappeared into the back room without a word, I assumed to grab a towel. My friend started to clean up the mess with some napkins and when the bartender got back, he said "Did you just use up all my napkins??" My friend said he was just trying to help contain the mess and the bartender became visibly annoyed and said shortly, "Please stop." I apologized again and he didn't acknowledge it, just asked us to get out of the way as he cleaned the floor and chairs. He made me feel awful, I didn't even want to approach him a few minutes later to get my check (because I definitely wasn't going to be ordering any more drinks at that point). 2 stars because I had really been enjoying my drink and the design of the place is cool, but it was a terrible experience as a customer.
