Fun place, lots of outdoor seating, really casual. Burgers are tasty, wings are good and the service is on par. Have been several times when the Modern Eldorados have played, like that you can sit outdoors and enjoy entertainment. The house salad is exceptional. read more

Love the new menu! Great spot for a casual burger and beer. The burgers are huge and perfect. Fries are my favorite...cut fresh.

Love it. Stopped in for lunch. Had basic cheeseburger with fries that was exceptional. Service great and beer cold.

The food was excellent. The service was excellent as well. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the live music. Great place to spend a few hours enjoying life. read more

Came to have lunch with my husband because of the rave reviews on the local news. What a disappointment!! Burgers were so greasy, the bun was soggy. Fresh cut fries tasted like old grease. The service matched the quality of food. What a waste of money. Change the grease people!! read more

Loved the atmosphere. Old store front with "indoor" and outdoor covered dining. Had live music when we were there. We both had the ComeBack Chicken sandwich and it was true to its name. Will make us come back! Onion rings were awesome also. Very unique ambience to this little place. read more

BILL-E's - Burgers Near Me - Fairhope, Alabama

This is, by far, the best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had. The French fries were so so good as well as the fried green beans with ranch dipping sauce! My husband had the "Holy Cow" and he said it was full of flavor. This was my first time to eat at Bill-E's but it definitely will not be my last. Next time I want to leave room for the pork butt/brownie with bourbon sauce dessert. I've heard that this was Devine!! I gave this 5 stars because everything was top notch. I believe it deserved more stars though. read more

Place was half full on a Wednesday night. Sat down ordered waters and 5 draft beers. Beers didn't come until 45 minutes later. Asked the waitress 5 times and she said the bartender was the manager and he was working on it, after the 4th time asking said we only wanted 3 of them, they finally came after the food. When the bill came the waitress said they would comp 2 or the 3 $3 dollar draft beers, 2 out of 3 was odd. We even stood by the bar two different times for 5 minutes each time and manager/bartender (guy with the balding down the part of his hair) wouldn't even make eye contact with me let alone ask if he could help me. Just kind of looked at me out the side of his eyes while he very slowly made drinks for a half empty bar. Got pimento cheese appetizer, it didn't have much actual dip and was very unappetizing looking. Sandwiches we got were good. Had to go find the waitress for napkins, utensils and condiments. Place looks nice, sandwiches were decent. I know places have off nights. But, the service was so bad on every level i have a feeling this is regular for them, it ruined the enjoyment of the food. Will never go there again. read more

We love the food and atmosphere, just on hot summer days be sure to sit inside, even in the shade the heat can diminish your appetite before the food gets there. But everything else is great, personally I am a server snob because I am server, and have never been disappointed here. They are welcoming and attentive without being overbearing and the food is delicious, and the portion size is in no way disappointing. read more

The burgers are great, but I especially enjoyed their Fish sandwich. Great flavor and toppings. Only complaint is the cayenne pepper sauce that comes with some meals. read more

Old 27 has gone downhill bigly over the past few years, and this was the last straw for us. It seems like everytime we visit, there are one, or more glaring problems. Also, on nearly every visit it seems like there is no one in charge...no management present. We arrived around 2pm on Sunday 7/23 after Church and we sat down in the dining room. There was a family seated right inside the front door, and there were two very young children who were seated by THEMSELVES at a table near the restrooms. During our visit, the children threw crayons and a little plastic bottle at our table, and there was stuff being thrown in the vicinity of our table and around the dining room the entire time we were there. We got the impression that they were one of the employees' kids because employees kept stopping by the table talking to them...probably trying to keep them from throwing more stuff. Another interesting thing that happened was a table across the room from us sat there with dirty dishes on it the entire time we were there. Kind of odd because there were no other customers seated in the dining room while we were there. I realize that there is a "laid back" vibe to this restaurant, but I would think most people would prefer not to have things thrown at their table while they are eating. We all got burgers except for one who got the grilled pimento cheese thing. The burgers are generally the best thing to order here. The grilled pimento cheese thing is a mystery to me. The bread is grilled, but the pimento cheese isn't hot, or melted...very strange...and half the chips were soggy. Both times this dish has been ordered by people in my party, they did not even eat half of it and did not order again on future trips. On a positive note, our waiter Jarrod did a very good job. In closing, I believe this restaurant could really thrive with active management, but it appears the current malaise is here to stay...very disappointing. read more

I decided to take my daughter here to have a quick dinner. It seemed inviting, cute country atmosphere. We are always trying new places that we've never been before. We were seated in the semi outside area. It's "rustic" which is fine but every table was dirty or wet. Our server was polite and prompt. We both ordered the chicken strips with fries. The wait time for food was average. However, the food...it was terrible. The chicken was dry and tasted like it had been fried in grease that hadn't been changed in a century. The fries also had this ancient grease after taste. My daughter wouldn't even eat after the first bite. I was hungry, so I did choke down a few bites. Upon asking for the check I told the server that the chicken tasted funny and that the grease was probably a factor. She apologized but offered no discount, etc. Before we left we used the restroom, so there was a lapse before we went to our car. When we came out it was lightly raining so we wanted to get going, however much to my suprise there was honey mustard splattered down the drivers side of our car. I didn't go back in and say anything.. I guess that's what you get for complaining at The Old 27 Grill. Obviously we won't go back. UPDATE: Within an hour of posting this review the owner contacted me and offered to make this right. While I'm not interested, I feel it's only fair to let people know that he was more than willing to do the right thing. read more

Food was mediocre at best. Burger meat was very tasty and homemade fries were ok Gumbo was super fishy and almost inedible The wedge salad was a soggy sloppy mess with over powering blue cheese globs and couldn't find the famous bacon. Orders came Out wrong and way after other meals were brought Chips were half soggy and half break-a-tooth hard. Bugs were a real challenge. No prevention was in place until we asked, then a citronella candle was put on the table. For anyone not a size 6, you'll have to sit on a backless bench, slide into a picnic table or get thigh bruises on metal chair arms. Very few other options are available in the main space. We waited 40 minutes after arrival for the musician to sing. Come to find out she was sitting with friends/family enjoying a beer and didn't get back on stage until prompted by staff after we asked. Overall, staff was friendly but it was a terrible experience and a horrible Father's Day dinner with the family. We won't be back. read more

The smell in this restaurant will make you gag it smells like dead Rodents inside the building !! I came there Saturday morning me An my family an Had a really horrible experience my food was horrible an the cook was a very rude guy when I ask the waitress to make my food over I over heard him cursing the waitress saying hell no they just want free food an I ask could I have someone else to make my order she said sorry sir that's our main cook so me An My family went elsewhere!! Very bad business read more

Super cute place and LOVE the food! Seriously good burgers and you can basically put anything imaginable on them. I've never had anything bad here. They lose a star because the service is literally ALWAYS terrible, but it's worth dealing with for a burger, sometimes read more

Excellent service!! Food was ok but not noteworthy. We sat in the courtyard, and it was hot as all get up. No fans and no air circulation. We were miserable. Don't waste your money on the shrimp and grits. Songwriter's night was last night which was supercool. read more

I've been to this establishment many times in the past, but I had an odd experience with my wife this weekend. The bartender seemed out of it and was drinking behind the bar during my visit. The food was exceptional, but the service has taken a turn for the worse and I wish management would keep a closer watch on their employees. I felt uncomfortable during my visit and wasn't sure if my bartender/waitress was "there" during my visit. She left many times to go smoke, which was vocalized quite often, too. Please get a grip on your staff and bring back the quality we once knew. My wife and I will be back to visit, only because we enjoy the food. I would have been embarrassed if my 2 kids were with us, having to explain what was going on. I still can't believe this was real. read more

We gave this place a 2nd try and we'll never go back now. Ordered wings for an appetizer, server came back and apologized that they were out, so asked for tenders. 30 mins later we got the tenders, and 5 mins after that we got our appetizer salad. Finally after 45 mins after we got there our entrees arrived. We weren't the only ones affected by the slow kitchen. There were 5 tables with no food and 3 parties waiting on takeout. All the servers were just running drinks. Our server kept apologizing profusely and kept following up on our ticket. On top of that the burgers were not great, just too dry. My 7 year old even noticed and said her bullet burgers were missing something. They were just really thin (1 larger patty that was cut up), well done and lacked seasoning. We doctored it up as best we could for her, I gave her some of my cheese and mushrooms and my husband gave her a piece of bacon. Like others have said, it doesn't look like there is a manager. They need someone with strong restaurant experience and more help in the kitchen to turn this place around. read more

What a huge disappointment! I first saw it on Food Network and it looked great. Don't know what happened. The table tops were filthy. No condiments on our table or on many of the tables. Brought our food with no utensils or napkins. The French fries were floating in grease, the burger was over cooked and had no flavor, bun was stale and the tomato had no color or flavor. The burger I ordered was supposed to be open faced but was not. Service was horrible. Wanted another beer but couldn't get service. We were there on a Saturday late in the day. We ate in the bar and the clientele looked to be regular bar hounds. Yuk! Overall bad experience!!! read more

Service was good. The fries were great. The comeback sauce was weird. Do not order the hot dog because I have never seen the color of relish that green and the bun was soggy from the relish. It tried to cover up the nasty flavor of the hot dog. I would never go back to this place. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times and never been let down. The service is spectacular and the food is even better! You must start your meal off with the fried green beans. I ordered the comeback chicken sandwich on my last visit and it was phenomenal! I definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family that travel the area! read more

Visited this restaurant with some friends and family and throughly enjoyed the food and the service was very friendly. Can't go wrong with any of the burgers. Definitely going back. read more

We were looking to kick back with a casual dinner and some music. Old 27 had great atmosphere and music, however beat-stomping by old, drunk men should be prohibited on the porch! The floor was shaking, but not quite with the beat of the music. The homemade potato chips were great as were the poppers, my fish, and the mushrooms. Unfortunately, my husband's fries were way undercooked and soggy. The Holy Cow Burger was ok. Our server was sweet and attentive. Overall, it was good and we will go back. I Would like to try their breakfast. read more

We ate here tonight and I have to say, the food was horrible! I ordered the bacon cheese burger and fries. The fries were greasy and soggy and looked like they had been fried in 5 day old grease. My son got the chicken fingers and fries, and you could tell the chicken was fried in the same old grease. The chicken fingers were black with old grease, just like the fries. We had to send them back and get another order and that order was just as bad. The only good experience we had there tonight was the extremely polite waitress. It's fair to say, we will never be eating there again. read more

Looked at website and decided to treat my friend to a birthday breakfast on Sunday. Got there and guess what? They don't serve breakfast anymore! Only Choice was a Texas toast type sandwich with egg and bacon. Very disappointed. Service was okay, long time for my glass of tea to get refilled. My advice to them? Please update your website!!!! read more

Best burger for miles and miles. Fantastic wings. Great desserts. Friendly people. Great atmosphere. Love this place!

Bought a groupon and am glad I did! Excellent burger, friendly service and a good atmosphere. The only reason i didn't rate it 5 stars was the kitchen was a bit slow, but our server was on top of it. Also, if you go when it's cold, sit in the main dining room, not the bar, it was cold! read more

Please do not waste your money here. This is the second bad experience we have had here in 4 months. We thought the first one was a fluke and went back and had a worse experience. All of our food came out at different times 30 minutes apart. We ended up having FIVE different waiters come to our table with excuses and terrible attitudes. We were lied to and the food was terrible. Never again. read more

Stopped in for lunch and it did not disappoint! Food and service were great we both had burgers and shared a hot dog and it was awesome! We will definitely be back! Cool atmosphere as well. read more

You will love this place. Relaxed. Live music tonight. Awesome service. Awesome food. Great!

This place is just OK. The service is awful though. Our waitress took forever for everything and kept blaming a shift change. To make matters worse there were only a few customers in the whole place so I didn't buy the excuse. I had the Old 27 Burger, it wasn't bad but I cook a better burger on my grill at home. The burger was lacking seasoning and seemed like it was cooked on a flat skillet grill and not over an open flame. I also had the chili cheese fries. They should just take that off the menu. It was basically some soggy fries with a can of Hormel chili dumped on them with some burnt yellow cheese on top and a few green onions. This dish reminded me of school cafeteria food. It was way over priced (8$) but hey canned chili is expensive. They do have good onion rings. I probably won't eat here again... There are just too many other good restaurants around to spend my money here. read more

I went into have lunch, was told to sit any where so I did inside. 20 minutes later never even got a menu, although 3 separate servers walked by me. One server even ignored me as I was trying to get her attention. Been in several different times and service has never been this bad. As I walked out 2 of the waitresses were on their cell phones, and 2 other ones where cutting up with each other. I will never go back in this place for this reason. read more

Great food, beer and entertainment. i definitely recommend anyone in the area to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I stopped here a few weeks ago to pick up some of Bill E.'s famous smoked bacon (BTW, best bacon I've ever had... better than Benton's). Called ahead and Bill personally gave me directions and offered to have bacon ready for me when I got there. Anyway, I stopped there on my way back from Florida a few days later and it was a slow afternoon. I had a Holy Cow burger that was just amazing! My big mistake was not adding bacon, but I'll definitely do that next time. I'll be back in August for bacon and burgers with the rest of the family. read more

Order the shrimp po boy and fries. I felt like for the price of $11 for a sandwich and fries my sandwich would have had more than just 6 small shrimp in it. The food was very good and our server was very good.. read more

My last 2 visits to Old 27 have been horrible. We called in an order and waited for an entire hour after it was supposed to be ready to receive the order. As I was waiting I saw one of the workers leave. He apparently had to go to the store to buy lettuce for my wedge salad while I sat there and waited! I was furious. All the while the rest of my order sat there and got cold. Needless to say, the salad was fresh but everything else was cold! Get it together management! read more

Excellent Holy Cow burger! Loaded with flavor and absolutely delicious! We will return for sure.

We came in Friday night and were greeted and served drinks right away upon sitting down. Crystal was our server and she was great with our kids and offering suggestions and offering options to make our meals just the way we like them! Great experience! read more

Went to dinner again at old27 after two years. Wait staff is great and ambiance is great with music and unique setting. After that, it all relies on the kitchen which got three of our four orders wrong. Two were missing key ingredients from the order and one switched chips for fries which my daughter really wanted. One order was fixed because it came out early and we said something. The others we just accepted, ate and left. This is why it took us two years to try them again as our last experience was the same. Probably will not go back again as the trend has been set. read more

Always have great food but dining room is arranged weird. If you enter the front of business you have to walk through a piece of kitchen to get to indoor dining. Shrimp porboys are awesome! Or you could walk in through exit door of the main indoor dining room and walk right into a table where people are dining and everyone looks at you! Staff is always friendly and helpful. read more
