I stopped in today for some replacement small parts, replenish my nutrition products and bar tape for my road bike. The employee I dealt with in the service dept used every reason in the book why they would not have the small parts I needed, he was basically argumentative and rude. He actually referred me to a local hardware store for the small parts I needed. Well I took his suggestion and headed to my local hardware store for the replacement parts. Since the hardware store does not stock the other items I would have purchased today, I ordered those off the internet and saved some money since Bike Source charges full retail for everything. What is funny the last race I was at the Velofix van was able to repair my bike with no issues since they were stocked will all the small parts I needed. I am actually glad the service employee insulted and argued with me today it will make it easier next time I need bike parts to go to another bike shop. read more

My family and I went to many bike shops around the area...and this was one of the that makes you realize how elitist this hobby can be! The have a great selection of bikes, and a lot of staff. But they were all really into cycling, and must like working there for the discounts on bikes, componets and gear. We went on a tuesday afternoon, not a very busy time...ask about the differences between a few mountain bikes...and we got a sales person who admittedly was a (road guy) and did not know much about mountain. (neither did we). First rule of sales is to know your product....and when he asked for help from the manager, the manager would not come from around his computer screen and did not make any eye contact. My wife wanted to ride a bike in the exact size...and the manager said he had one in stock. Then he literally said a bunch industry terms "my build lis is 10 deep, and we order out units weekly...but if you give us 20% down we will do the build out today". Clear as mud...but we took to mean give us your money and we will build the bike that I have in the warehouse. I understand the risk of ordering a bike from the factory and needing a deposit, but if you have a bike you have in stock and have no other bike ready to test, why would we put money down to test ride a bike? There are a ton of bike shops in the area...skip this one. read more

I bought a used bike for my son last year, pretty excited it was equipped with Shimano DuraAce DI2 until this spring. In February the bike started shifting into the little ring up front and would not change, it acted if the battery was starting to fail. I have spent some time taking it to 3 Denver bike shops that all stated they had the diagnostic tool needed and after the trip there it appeared that non of them knew exactly what it would was or how to fix it. On April 11, I was making another attempt and after calling all the Bike Sources, the Littleton location said to bring it right in. Upon arrival Calvin Davis went thru the trouble shooting process with us and explained the potential situation we might be in but said that based on his experience, he was sure that it would be a connection at the bottom bracket that had not been shrink wrapped. After a couple of minutes, some electrical contact stray and shrink wrap Robby was back in business. Thank you Calvin Davis!!! You do know customer service!!! We drove 40 minutes to get there and it was worth the drive, he has a new customer!! read more

Today we had an excellent experience at Bikesource. My friend and I arrived with a broken bike, not sure how serious the problem was. Although the staff were busy, within 5 minutes of our arrival Jack Pyron came out to our car, took the bike out, assessed the difficulty and fixed the problem with the brake on the spot. He was pleasant, helpful and sent us on our way in short order. I have already recommended the store to my neighbor and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs bike repairs. After using many bike shops over several decades for service, parts, clothing, and bike purchases, I decided that BikeSource was where I would buy my next bike. Why? Because they support organizations I truly care about- and they are fantastic at everything important to cyclists like me. My first experience with BikeSource was at their Highlands Ranch location where I picked-up my registration for the 2014 Elephant Rock ride. Specialized had partnered with them to offer high-end demo bikes to ride. I rode a new Venge Pro (and loved the bike) and my riding buddy rode an S-Works Tarmac. The staff at the store was always extremely knowledgeable and had an enormous variety of not just cycling equipment but also nutrition, bike components and cycling clothing. I instantly appreciated their service department as they serviced and repaired my own Trek bicycle in the subsequent years. They sponsor Christian Cycling (and offer member discounts!), Cherry Hills Christian Church and other organizations meeting the needs of my local community & beyond. This means a lot to me. Then I started shopping for a new bicycle- and here is what I discovered: In this new world of e-commerce, we can buy a bike from truly anywhere- usually for a significantly lower price- then we can find locally. However, if you are serious and more importantly as passionate about cycling as I am you quickly discover that great bikes need to be purchased just like great cars: buy primarily for the dealership with a great service department as your first criteria. When was the last time you bought a NEW car online? Ask yourself why you wouldn't and you'll come to the conclusion that you should do the very same for a new bike purchase. After literally years of research (I wanted a great, great bike to replace an aging great bike) I narrowed my list of dream bikes to just two very specific brands/models. My top pick wasn't even the one I bought- and you know why? Because WHERE I bought my bike was going to provide as much value for me as the bike itself. My last bike was bought at Wheatridge Cyclery and many consider WRC the best bike shop because of their selection and service. I would agree- I got a great price on my last bike that I have ridden 5,000+ miles, but it's a 35-45 min drive from my home. And at the time, the bike brand, model and price was more important to me than any other criteria. But what I have learned is that if your bike shop isn't convenient (or you buy it online), you won't maintain your bike! And when you buy a new bike and get maintenance included (and build great relationships with the staff)- but can't conveniently take advantage of that very important benefit: you're hurting your bike and YOU. The 3-location dealership I wanted to buy my first selection from was closer to my house and offered the very bike I had been drooling over for about a year. I had test-ridden the bike and loved it. I had also loved bike #2 and even rode the 2015 model as a demo in the Elephant Rock Ride (100mi course) last summer. But the tipping point was when the night before my ride in The Copper Triangle, my rear wheel bearings failed and I needed it replaced so I could leave just hours later. I took it to BikeSource as I had before, but this time they were very busy with the usual summer service volumes. They fit me into their crammed workload and had my bike back to me just hours later. That experience told me that I had truly found my Bike Shop- and that I would buy any bike they recommended. I narrowed my bikes down to 2-models in late January and called to store to see if I could compare the two models side-by-side. My sales person Melanie said that she would have both bikes ready- at my required sizing- ready for me to compare and she did exactly that. The store is yards from a great smooth & hilly bike path as well as in a very broken, cracked & pothole filled parking lot (they should never repair this- this is how you test and compare 'compliance' & comfort in a bike frame!) that I tested both bikes on for over an hour until I was settled on my favorite frame. They didn't have my exact bike- but they found it and had it shipped to their store. The day I picked it up, I also scheduled (and HIGHLY recommend) a comprehensive fitting on their ReTul machine. Working with Blake was amazing and the hours it took was well worth it because I took home my new bicycle- fit to my body geometry & riding style to the millimeter- and I have never been happier. I have not had to move or adjust anything since and LOVE my new bicycle! My riding mileage has increased 2x from previous years and my goals are to race next summer. I came into this shop after a different store did not have what I was looking for and was shocked by the level of customer service. The entire staff has been excellent. Every member of the team, both sales and service, that I have encountered has been great. They are all extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Tyrel and Blake have been especially helpful finding me the right bikes. Jack and Joe in service are awesome. Jack has done most of the work on my bikes and Joe ( the service manager) is always aware of what is going on and willing to help get things done. The communication between sales and service is very good. Whenever I walk in, it seems like the entire staff(sales or service) is aware of what is going on with my build or my repair. The General Manager, Eric, has also been willing to jump in to help get some parts ordered and even help complete service work. In short, this shop provides a level of customer service that I thought had been lost from the retail industry. On a final note, as I realize this is important to most people(myself included), their pricing is in line with or slightly better than the other places I have shopped. read more

This store is brilliant for having experienced women bikers for their salespeople. I've been looking for a new pair of mountain biking shorts. My associate recommended a few different pairs for me to try and she nailed exactly what I was looking for - fit, function and size. She also helped me get great fitting new helmets for my growing teen sons. I will absolutely be back. I also came in for a quick fix on my bike tire valves, and my repair tech went above and beyond to do a more thorough check to tighten up everything on my bike so my ride was safe. I stopped by this shop to see what was wrong with my bike while on the bike path. Talked to a really nice guy who looked at my bike, he got me a quote and we set up an appointment for me to drop the bike off the following day. When I dropped my bike off another guy wanted to look and diagnose my bike rather than look at the quote for what I specifically wanted to do. I felt like I was at a tire shop or used car dealer as opposed to a bike shop. Granted, yes, I may have needed a tune up, but he didn't even bother to just look at the original quote. The service was done rather quickly, which was good - but then I got a call saying my bike chain was too small and that it would cost $35 for the chain and $15 for the labor. I said, no thanks (thinking that I only use the middle ring on my front anyway and I have replaced chains before, thus I don't need to spend the money) and went to pick up my bike. One of my links was broke - apparently the tech went out to test my bike and had cycled it through all the gears...and then broke my chain. read more

Bought a bike there a couple of years ago. Knew what I wanted and made the purchase. Easy. Recommended this place to my partner for a new cog on his Tarmac SR3. We went in, ordered and paid for the cog. Was there for over an hour waiting for the service department to place the order and to pay for it. Took three guys at the register to figure out how to enter the purchase so it could be paid for. Three WEEKS later got a call that the cog had arrived. Took the bike in for the replacement. Five days later received a call from service saying the fork was cracked. Was told the fork was not produced anymore and there was nothing to do but replace the frame for $7000. Took me 10 minutes to locate a new fork online and have it shipped to the house. Hand carried it to the shop for replacement, thinking wrongly that the service fellows would be helpful in getting the bike back together. Was told it would only take an hour or two. Two days later, the bike was finally ready for pickup. As a final insult, they tried to charge again for the cog. The complete lack of interest demonstrated by the service department in figuring out a path to replacing the fork and getting the bike back on the road was more than disappointing. You'd think that folks working in a Specialized bike shop would understand the dilemma and work towards a solution. We won't be back. read more
