I have been buying and servicing 4 bikes for 20 years at Bike Source. I bought a gravel bike 4 years ago and was told when I purchased the gravel bike that it came with a free fit. I never got around to getting it fit and I just tried to schedule a free fit. Bike Source said they would charge me $350. They said that since they were purchased by Specialized that they would not honor their agreement with me. I dont recommend Bike Source to anyone and I will never buy a new bike or get any of my 4 bikes and my wife's bikes serviced by them ever again. Stay away from Bike Source. There are many other bike shops with much better customer service. read more

I left my bike with these guys 3 weeks ago for a repair and they told me it would be fixed in 10 days. The service manager who was incredibly rude and talked over me when i asked where my bike was, told me that he was waiting on the supplier to send the part. The service department failed to tell me that it would be an extended amount of time and again the service manager would not stop talking over me when I asked him basic questions about my bike is. As far as bikes and parts sales i have not had any issues..I purchased a Levo and Tero and were happy with the prices. If when I have been out on a ride and had an issue the staff was helpful to get me back on the road quickly. Now when it comes to a tuneup they are just OK for the basic stuff but any requests past that seems neglected. I had asked to have a number of items addressed when the Tero was in for a tuneup and none of the items were addressed so I took my bike to another shop and had everything taken care of. I am planning to upgrade to a Tero 4 not sure if this the store I will use. read more

I came back to Colorado to have an ankle replacement and another surgery because of a drunk driver. I just had a hip replacement 5 months ago. After having the surgery (2 weeks ago) i wanted to get out but I realized the tubes in my wheelchair tires (they are actually Bike tires) are bad. I called all over for two days from Loveland to Colorado Springs, no one was able to help me (no one carried the size of tubes and if I ordered them they didn't want to install) which is scary when you are dependent on a piece of equipment. I called about an hour ago, I spoke to Matt who was so nice. I shared that I ordered the tubes but haven't been able to find anyone to install, he said I can absolutely do this for you, that made me cry, I've been desperate for help. I'm sitting in the shoe area while Matt installs the tubes for me and in just 30 minutes I will have my mobility back. This means the world to me, I use to bike but because of the wreck I haven't been able to for many years. The doctor said this surgery is going to change my life and I will be able to bike again. After physical therapy I will come back to BikeSource Highlands Ranch to purchase my Bike, no matter what state I live in I will be back. Thank you so much Matt and BikeSource. read more

First time buying a bike in 30 years. BikeSource made it easy and fun to purchase my new cycle. Very nice shopping environment. Excellent service from the staff although they were pretty busy. Good selection on the floor though of course they will order you anything you want. These are higher-end bikes, but the experience is also. They had me out the door with my purchase in about two hours, including personalized set-up. I have to admit I researched on their website before I went in; the site is comprehensive. Don't be discouraged when you see models over $10,000! They have plenty for "normal" riders as well. read more

I went into BikeSource to test ride a Specialized Roubaix. Unfortunately, the first salesperson I ran into was not especially helpful. I'm pretty sure his name was Darrin. He was smug and condescending but really had no grounds to be so. I had to tell him the frame size of the bike directly in front of him. I asked him a question about the components on the bike and he couldn't answer it, and then said components don't matter, all bikes ride the same. It seemed like he thought my husband and I weren't serious about buying a bike and was annoyed we were taking him away from playing on his phone. After the test ride I left as quickly as I could, but after some thought, I actually REALLY liked the bike. It was a great ride. I went back and luckily was able to catch Don's eye and he was nice, considerate, knowledgeable and treated me with respect. He sold me the bike, got it a quick tune and was a joy to work with. If I had just gotten him first, this would be a 5-Star review. Don gets a 5, the other guy gets a 1 and the review splits the difference. read more

Twice in the past month, I've needed some bike help and these guys absolutely crushed it both times. I expected my kid's broken shifter would require a weeks-away appointment and he would probably spend the last month of summer without wheels... well, we rolled that thing into BikeSource and they handled it on the spot in under 20 minutes (and for a fraction of the price that I feared). This place is a service nightmare. Do not take your bike here. I will never darken their door again. A week ago I drove 80 miles round trip to the Highlands Ranch store to buy a Specialized Road Ebike for $7000. (I had bough my wife an ebike a week earlier for $6000) Part of the material they give you on the bike purchase is an owners manual. On the back cover is sticker with the serial number and another number you need to log into Specialized and register you bike and use the Specialized app. At home, after trying to register several time, I discovered they had given us the wrong manual/sticker, so I had the wrong numbers. I called the sales person, and he didn't know what to do (remember I live 40 mile away). Finally we agree that he would put the correct owners manual back with my name on it, and I would drive down to exchange them. Two day later I drove to the store. After arrival at the store, employees tried finding the manual. No luck. I spoke to the manager. His expatiation was, "Mistakes happen" That's true, but as I told him, I should not have to had driven the 80 miles for their mistake. It took him about 20 minutes to find the correct manual. When he handed it to me, he just said "Sorry". No "Sorry, here's a water bottle for all of your trouble", or and extra inner tube, or a key chain. $13,000, 80 miles of driving and 4 hrs of my time for their mistake and just "Sorry" I guess once you've made the purchase, customer service not longer matters! A younger woman was helping me, but seemed totally uninterested in doing so. I am a new rider and know little to nothing about helmets. I didn't buy yesterday so got an email from best friend today and she directed me today so went all the way to Evo and bought a $120 GIRO helmet I love! A small Women's fits so very well and looks good too! Obviously HR was much closer, but not meant to be at this time filling this need. I heard good things about them so may give it another try as I need a bike rack too. Have hitch and a rack that maybe we might be able to adapt for a ebike RadMini step-thru fat tire 67 lbs. This place is the worst. maybe their other locations are worth while but this place is just terrible from a customer service standpoint. I bought my son his first bike from here (he liked the green specialized..what can i say) and purchased training wheels which they said they could install in ~15 - 20 min. Well its a 15 min car ride so i said we'd wait...an hour later i finally got the bike out the door, which was great with two little kids... Fast forward 6 months and I went to remove the training wheels..only to find that they slotted the knob to remove them INTO the wheel nut. So the ONLY way to remove them was to break the chain slide the wheel off, remove the training wheels and then put it back together. I have no idea why ANY MECHANIC worth their stuff would put it together like that. Why would a parent want to be FORCED to come back just to take off training wheels? I'd rather they tell me that they can't install that type and tell me to go find some elsewhere. SO today I took the bike in to have them break the chain and remove it. The mechanic doesn't really care that they did it like that even though i'm clearly upset. Then he takes in the bike, as I offered to wait and said he wasn't sure if he'd be able to get to it today. OK no problem, well I drive the 15-20 mins home only to receive a phone call - "hey the bikes done"... WTF!?!?! I would have waited if it was only going to take 15-20 min. Now i have to drive alllll the way back to get the bike that they messed up to begin with. Bottom line - think of the customer first. I know they're a prominent specialized dealer in the front range but I would take my purchase and any mechanical issue ELSEWHERE - DONT WASTE YOU MONEY AS YOU"LL PROBABLY BE FORCED TO COME BACK DUE TO THEIR MISTAKE! read more

went to Highlands Ranch to get my bike fixed. Took a week, and several confusing phone calls. I was told that there were too many walk ins to get to my bike. They would get to it when they could. I finally went over there. Technician said my bike was next and he would get to it in the next few minutes. I left. called three hours later and was told once again they did not have time. I drove over to pick it up immediately. I was done with this store. I walked in the Tech said it was done. What??? But I had to wait for him to finish fixing someone who walked in. Will not go back. Knowing NOTHING about bikes I searched "Bike stores" in my gps and found this gem. I was fixing up a bike for my daughter who is learning to ride and needed some new tires. Of course they found what I needed and priced fair so I bought them. After she was up and running I needed a bike to go out with her. It had been 10 plus years since I had gotten on a bike. I checked Amazon, target and Walmart. I didn't want anything too special. You can't test drive on Amazon and finding anyone with and knowledge at target was a big stretch. So... I went back to "the source". Looked around. Told a sales guy what I was looking for. He said "I'm not supposed to advertise this but you're a good guy. Come back Friday for our big sale and you'll get some free stuff if you guy a bike. Just look around and get a better feel for what you're looking for then come back". So I anxiously awaited Friday and came back. At this point I knew exactly what I wanted. A hybrid bike. Something I could take to the mountains but also something I could use at wash park with my daughter. They were a bit out of my price range though. Until I found... The one. It was exactly what I wanted. $100 more than I wanted to spend BUT I was getting close to $100 worth of stuff I would need. Especially the helmet. Target had a decent bike for $300 but it didn't come with a free nice helmet, water bottle holder, carry pack and FREE tuneups for life. The sales guy got it all tunes up. Gave my a thorough run through on how everything worked and sized me for the bike. I couldn't be happier with my many trips to this store and now forbid to go anywhere else. My girlfriends bike will be bought at this store as well as my daughters future bikes. That's for teaching me and being honest. read more

Very disappointed in the service department. I bought a $5,000 carbon fiber bike from these guys, and brought it in for service when I bent a wheel. They told me they couldn't get me the parts and to call them back in a few months. I let it sit for the winter and called back a few weeks ago. They said they'd look into the parts and call me back- no call back. I called in again today, and he said he could replace the rear hoop, but it would take months. I asked if he could order the parts for me so I could do it myself and he said he didn't have time to look for parts. They're making it very hard to give them my money... time to go somewhere else. read more

My electric bike suddenly stopped working, 10 days before I was leaving for an 8 month trip. Even worse, my electric bike was supposed to be my main form of transport while I was away. I tried 2 bike stores in Boulder, and was told "sorry - it will take 2-3 weeks to repair." Even worse, it turns out they had misdiagnosed the problem. I called Bike Source and Joe was fantastic. He understood the time crunch, fixed the bike in time, and even got me a discount on the replacement battery. From now on, I will be driving the 2 hour round trip to Bike Source (from Boulder) to get any needed work on my Specialized Vado. read more

BikeSource Highlands Ranch is the worst store ever ! They were supposed to service my front suspension. I even got a quote of $200 to service it. Three days later they called me to tell me pick up your bike we can not find parts to fix it. They tried to hand me the front of my bike in pieces in a plastic bag !!! I did not take it I asked them to JUST GIVE ME BACK MY BIKE THE WAY I GAVE IT TO THEM ! manager called the next and told me they will not put my bike back together because it's " got broken parts inside the fork" It can't get worse than that ! read more

I was extremely disappointed. I took my bike in for service. They missed 3 promise dates for the return of my bike. That took over a month before I was so frustrated with them I took my incomplete bike back. Misses on dates were from failure to order the parts needed, then failure to order the correct part, failure to detect all of the needed parts, and then receiving the incorrect part. I went into the shop 2 times because I did not think I was getting straight answers from the telephone call. I don't think the staff knows how to use their order and status software. Only when I spoke with the service manager did I get a straight answer. He has a tough job and I felt bad for him as I do not see that the staff supports his efforts to run that mad house. I will never visit that store again. read more
