In July I had a new rear hub installed on my bike. I rode until Oct 4 (a few times in the rain). on Oct 5 I tore everything in my shoulder and couldn't ride. My bike sat in the garage until I was able to ride again in March. I pulled the bike out and the rear wheel wouldn't spin. I took it to the shop who did the work (C3 outside of Golden)- the tore it apart and found the hub seal had failed (their words). he tried to rebuild it but couldn't, it was totally corroded. He told me they'd send it to Shimano to warranty but that they doubted they would?! He said it would be at least a few weeks, and Shimano would blame the user for not maintaining it properly. I have had great service in the past at Pedal bike shop so took it to them - with the receipt from the purchase in july. They kept the bike and were doing the same thing as C3. They were denied but fought with Shimano on my behalf and they finally agreed to warranty the hub because the seal had indeed failed. They did the work and I got my bike back. A week after getting my bike, I got a call from the mechanic at C3 who told me - as expected - that Shimano denied the warranty claiming it was 'misuse'???! what.. 2 months? I can't ride my bike and get it wet? how did the water get in the hub? from abuse or misuse?? Replace in July and ridden just over 2 months? When I told him that I'd already gotten my bike back and it had been fully warranted by Shimao (because of the diligence of the Pedal staff), he went silent. He just said, "I'm glad you got your bike back". Why would I go anywhere but Pedal? Clearly, they strive to make things right for their customers - they don't just roll over and say they can't do anything. Pedal is the BEST!!! I had always been a Shimano guy - I couldn't be more disappointed in them and will be writing them a letter. read more

Every time I have used this bike show for service, there is a problem with my bike when I get it back. When I have tried to get help, the shop has acted like they're doing me a favor for fixing the problems they caused. The company tried to call me out for writing a bad review on another platform when I had yet another problem with the bike they sold me. They were condescending and told me I was wrong, my charger isn't a charger issue. They have never once offered an apology for any of the incidents they have caused. I purchased two bikes here but I will never visit again, particularly after being treated like dirt by their service lead They need service industry training for sales and support. read more

Decided to go with pedal for my road bike fit since it was reasonably priced and they had availability (some places were a month+ out!). It pains me greatly to give a bicycle shop a mediocre review, but after much debate, I feel like the service I received is best reflected in my review. My bike was in need of service and after several phone calls to several different bike shops, I decided to take my bike here. First, the service time at the shop was different from the phone call. The employee on the phone severely understated the turn around time. A few days turned into a few weeks and then turned into almost a month! to add insult to injury, I returned after almost 3 weeks after I dropped my bike off, and they didnt even start on it yet! another week goes by and they call me in to say that my bike needed a part that they didnt have and said that if I wanted to do all the searching and all the leg work of tracking down and ordering this part, they would happily put it on for me. This was not a special or hard to find part but just saddens me how they made me spend another $100 on top of the already expensive repair bill. The service cost was also highly understated on the phone. After I finally got my bike back and took it on a test ride, it still wasnt working correctly. The employees at the service counter are not the friendliest of people either, they look down at you and talk to you like you are a uneducated child. read more

I love these guys. I've bought a bike from them, almost bought a bike from them, bought accessories, had service, bought wheels... Every time it feels like they want you to have something that works well for you and there's never any pressure for an upsell. Service team is great too. Stuff works right the first time, prices are reasonable, and the worst they've ever done is be finished when they said they would. Saw online today that Pro's Closet is going out of business and it reminded me how lucky we are to have a top rate LBS available to us. Go shop at Pedal and go ride. read more

Three strikes and you're out. I spent almost $2k at this shop over the summer between a new bike, accessories, and maintenance--which they messed up 3 out of 3 times. This included putting on a new stem and not actually tightening it so when I turned my handlebars my wheel stayed straight, AND converting my tubeless-ready tires (bought from them) to tubeless incorrectly (for $100!). They didn't put in the stem right and the back tire already can't hold air. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one because they're a really friendly bunch with good inventory, but don't trust the mechanical team at ALL. read more

Fantastic service! My friend and I went in looking for new bikes and we were immediately greeted by Robb, who was friendly and enthusiastic. He also happened to be the same middle age as us, which was great because he understood the issues that go along with not being as young as you used to be. He asked a lot of questions about what we wanted and listened carefully to our answers, discussing what would be good fits for each of us, and how things could be modified if we liked a bike overall but didn't like certain parts. The location of the shop is also amazing, as it's adjacent to the South Platte trail, so on your test rides, you can go on a protected trail with both pavement and gravel to ride on to really get a feel of the bike you're trying. Sales staff and manager are condescending and arrogant. Gave this place two chances. First time we biked in for some accessories for our new ebikes. The sales guy actually trash talked my bike since it wasn't a brand they sell. Second time, I needed to return a detective accessory for replacement. Waited around while they tried to jimmy the thing back together, rather than just replace it. There are plenty of good bike shops in town...you don't have to deal with this nonsense. read more

There are lots of 5 star reviews on here and I would have agreed. Last summer. Now it's become elitist and pretentious. I rode my bike to Pedal to have something looked at and they were practically bursting at the seams they were so busy (and I'm guessing this is why they have gotten pretentious and snotty) but I decided to wait it out. I figured while I was there I was going to get a new helmet, some new gloves and a new bar bag. Here is what I watched happened not once, not twice and not three but FOUR TIMES: The person behind the counter finished helping someone and disappeared into the back never to return. In the end there was one person tending the counter with a dozen people waiting and me next in line. During this time there wasn't a single look in the direction of the line, they could care less. There was one time where an employee was wheeling a customers bike outside and I was in line with my bike so I courteously moved out of his way and he didn't even acknowledge me in any fashion, be it a "thanks for making room" or "go to hell". A year ago I would have said that Pedal was amazing. Today they have soured me pretty bad because I find zero excuse for this kind of service, attitude or lack of manners. read more

My personal favorite bike shop, I go there for most of my purchases despite living almost an hour away. They have good variety of equipment and bikes, especially for tall people such as myself. This was the only place that had the XL gravel bike I wanted (it was also 600$ lower than anywhere else) and also the only place with the size 48 shoes that I wanted. They are super helpful and accommodating, when the bike I bought had a malfunctioning rear derailleur, I brought it back and they fixed in no problem. read more

Not only claim to never have time to service your bike or even ask to make an appointment for service but also don't take a minute to listen and nobody seems to be available to ask questions to or get support from. Bought a mountain bike at this Pedal store 2 years ago. Despite them being busy during all hours of the weekend - they get me in and out within 15 minutes without any appointment. I didn't need any extra warranty, I just bring it in when I have questions and 15 minutes later they have checked on it and did some tweaks and it's good as new again. I just went there with a question about brakes slightly rubbing and they recalibrated that and added grease to the chain and more for no cost. The price of the bikes and parts are fair. read more

Took my bike in here for a simple tune-up and to get a tube replaced and was really impressed. Ray, the mechanic, took the time to consult me on what needed to be done, as well as what options I had for improving some of the pain points of my bike. He also didn't sell me a full tune-up when I didn't need it, like every other bike shop has done to me in the past. He only recommended the work that needed to be done. Bike was ready as promised, and feels great. I will definitely be back with my other bike at some point. read more

I stopped in after work looking for a full suspension mountain bike, told the guy this was my first one and I was hoping the spend about $2000. He seemed to think that was silly and told me I wouldn't find one for less than $3000 and pretty much left it at that. I got my Cannondale hybrid a little over five years ago there. It has held up very well, even with quite a lot of miles having passed under its wheels. You of course have to replace a tube there, and lubricate the chain, and occasionally tighten something up, but it just keeps rolling right along. Well, I finally had to replace a part, a pedal crank that would no longer stay attached. After I went back to get it, my train got delayed, and I was on track to reach there a few minutes after they were due to close. I called them to ask if they'd be willing to help, and they were very nice about it and got me back on the road. Whether you need a new bike, or one fixed, come check them out. Easily a 5 Star rating, and I've done business with multiple other metro area bike shops. A bike mechanic there, Liam -has done extensive work on a (now with over 9k miles) Salsa fat bike I bought there new in 2015. I've developed a lot of confidence from having my bike worked on there. Many people I know, or ride with tell me about repeat visits to their bike shop. They have shoddy work horror stories and resulting breakdowns regularly. They seem to accept a "that's just the way it goes" attitude. I ride on long trips and to remote places all-year-around, and especially don't want to worry about downtime or the bikes reliability! For years, all my dealings with people at Pedal have been polite and thorough. read more

Went here inquiring about a children's seat for my electric bike. The one I was looking for was tailored more for a non electric bike. One of the sales men wasn't too sure about the item so he went back to the shop where a member worked who actually owned the item I was looking at. He came out and talked up the item since he owned it but said it wouldn't work with my bike due to the size of frame. He wasn't a salesmen but took the time to help me out. What I do know is that they charged me $12 "labor" to install an inner tube (which I had purchased from them), which obviously took all of 30 seconds. Could I have installed it myself? Of course. But they had helped me with something else, and I felt like I should just let them do their thing. But now that I think about it, it's chinsey, and it left a bad taste in my mouth, hence this review. E and I stopped in on a whim while in the area yesterday, and walked out an hour or so later with two new bikes! The guy who helped us, Matt, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I've always been intimidated by bike shops, since I know absolutely nothing about bikes other than how to ride one, and up until this point of my life I've avoided bike shops altogether out of fear of looking like a fool. Our experience at Pedal really helped allay that fear! Matt wasn't pushy at all, and really seemed to fit us with the best possible bikes for our needs and our price points. They have a great selection of commuters, mountain bikes, hybrids, and road bikes, as well as all the gear and upgrades you could possibly need. Plus, they have a warehouse only a few minutes away with more stock, so if you find a bike in the store you like that isn't the right size or color, they can easily look up whether they have what you want in stock and retrieve it. We also like that in about 30 days we can bring our bikes back in for a free tune-up and tightening. We are incredibly pleased with our new bikes and so glad that we chose to stop into Pedal - they'll be our go-to from now on! read more

This place is solid and don't let my 4 out of 5 deter you, shop here with piece of mind, I am being very nit picky here. I have been going here to service my fatty for about the last year. They are quick, prioritize trail riders, and know their stuff. They are on the level of Turin downtown, if not a little better than them overall. I like them so much I only have my bikework done here, no exceptions. My only gripe, and I mean only, is that I picked up the bike after having a rear derailleur adjustment done. I head back up the trail and the problem is still there as if they hadn't done any adjustment at all. Now in fairness I didn't check the work and after I went back in they said the middle gears on the back were worn so the adjustment wouldn't hold. They didn't charge me for the adjustment which is great I just wish they would have caught it the first time. I bought my new fatty from them and love it. They have a lifelong customer in me and I thank them for everything. read more

I took I my 1990 Klein Rascal for a new front shock and a general tune. Had a call from the tech a couple of days later with an estimate and recommended replacement of shifter/brake assembly levers. I approved the work and in a couple of days my old bike is as good as new. Estimate was spot on and I am loving this bike again!
