We researched and decided to buy a Specializes Globe LT cargo bike and brought our kids in the store to purchase it. Cliff was very stern with our children and kept telling them not to touch things, not to play, etc. I also don't want my kids to run around but there was nothing kids are allowed to do in the store and it took forever to get the bike purchase finalized. There has also been very poor communication about when our bike is ready leading us to repeatedly reach out to them to find out. This doesn't make me want to get our bike serviced by them in the future. read more

Went in to get a saddle for with my partner. My partner was met with some pretty questionable comments as if he was not knowledgeable and the associate who was assisting through the process was in my opinion clueless. He has rode the saddle outside to see if it was proper and while he was doing so the associate made a nasty comment in which I had to rebuke. Then the associate did not mention any installment fee, which also took forever in a day to do showing the incompetence. 1. Do not judge those who come into the shop-because they could be a great profit. 2. Watch the comments made about said customers because you don't know who is listening. 3. Inform the consumer on what would need to be charged -so that if they can and rather install they can. Just customer service skills which should not have to be explained. read more

I have taken mine and my wife's bike here many times. Unfortunately my wife's had parts of her bike stolen 3 times and BikeSource has been there to find the right parts and for good prices every time. This most recent time, my wife had both tires stolen and whoever stole them, left two tires as well. Jordan was able to use what I gave him and only charge for a necessary tubing which came out to under $10. He was extremely sympathetic and understanding of our situation. Everyone at Bike Source would prefer to be somewhere else, they don't want to deal with the public. If you are trying to decide between a Trek or Specialized, just get a Trek at Campus Cycles. I bought two bikes at bike source and knew which bikes I needed and required minimal assistance and felt like these people were burdened. My son is 10 and will need more bikes, he will be getting a Trek from Campus Cycles. The people at Campus Cycles are the so nice and friendly. I bought my daughter's Trek there and will never to back to Bike Source. If I could return my bike I would, there isn't much difference between Trek and Specialized, in my opinion. I went to BikeSource to research purchasing a new bike. I wanted to learn about the different options for a road, gravel and mountain trail riding combo bike. My sales guy, Ryan was fantastic. He patiently listened to what I thought needed and then he showed my several bike options and explained the features and benefits of each model. He then recommended a test ride and off I went on several different models. The test ride made it much easier to decide which bike would work best for me. You just gotta get on and ride the bike to know. I added a few options like an odometer/computer and new pedals. The service dept. tuned the bike up and added the options super quick and had me on my way. Today I took my new bike on a 10+ mile ride on pavement, gravel and a mountain biking trail. This place is a joke with inept customer service. I bought a $100 bike lock. I had questions about it & they couldn't help me on the phone, so I had to come down there. I live nowhere near close to this place. They talk me into buying a different lock, they make big production exchanging. They have to order lock, it will take 2 weeks and they ask me to hold onto lock to be returned. I waited for 6 weeks, no call, they have no knowledge of the lock ordered and won't take back the lock I bought because of return policy. read more

I've been taken my bike to this place to get it serviced and and fixed for the last year. Everything was going well until I got a new headset put in. I picked it up and the paint chip wasn't mentioned and the service manager Adam told me it was a common occurrence for angle headsets to do this. To me it looks like the mechanic tightened the headset press too hard and put a lot of stress on the head tube. I don't have the tool to do this but from what I've seen online that's the result from negligence. If you take it to this place to get work done just be aware that this might happen to your bike. read more

Bike Source is stacked! With bikes! And accessories! Enough with the exclamations though. This store is pretty big - 2 stories with multiple sections on each floor. And this isn't a discriminatory shop. You want a mountain bike? Sure. Road racer? Why not? Beach cruiser? You won't get any funny looks here. On the other hand you may be giving some funny looks because the staff here gets a little confused about selling stuff. Perhaps it's because they are a new store. I'm not sure. And I want to be clear that they know plenty about bikes. It's just working the computers that seemed to give them pause. read more

BikeSource has an incredibly large staff and reasonable wait times for bike repairs during Covid. My interactions with staff were extremely mixed during my few visits here. The first person I spoke with was incredibly condescending and felt rushed. As a female cyclist, I am used to mostly male staff generally talking down to me when I'm visiting bike stores. My husband and I have bought 4 bikes here in the last three years, started with a bike for me when we both decided to start riding more and they did a fantastic job fitting me and helping me with the perfect trail bike which I have loved. Early this year my husband bought a Specialized Trail bike which he also loves. Last month we bought ebike mountain bike and again, amazing help and info and my husband could not be happier. Love the staff and have found them to all be helpful and responsive and ready to share opinions and things to consider. Love this place! I've been here twice for various bike issues--flat tire that wasn't taking any air and an alignment issue. Both times were absolutely great, quick and cheap! The employees here know their stuff and quick to help or school you and I have been in and out within 30 minutes each time. The downside? They have everything you could ever imagine to pimp out your bike which makes me wish I could go all Supermarket Sweep through the store (90's throwback whaaa?) from clothes to racks to tools, they got it all! Definitely stop by though because when I called about my alignment issue they were more of the see it to estimate it school of thought which is all good. One more downside-parking is awkward here thanks to being right off Colorado and Yale with the YMCA next door. Best just to ride over if you can! read more

They are great at dealing with difficult customers like me. 2. The service agreements are out of this world. I have no worries about having my bike taken care of properly, even as I beat it up every day. 3. The service department is amazing. I took my bike in for what I thought would be an expensive repair. I walked out spending $5 for some energy bars. The service person took apart a complicated component and repaired the guts manually instead of just selling me a new one. The normal place where I repaired my bikes went out of business. I thought I would give bike source a try as I have purchased some accessory items there in the past, and the service was generally very good. While riding a part of my shifting assembly came off and although I was able to get it reinstalled, the shifting was a bit of a mess. I took the bike in on a Sunday and on Monday I received an email and a text that my Bike was completed. In addition, there was a detailed explanation of what was actually done to my bike (not a form letter type of thing). The quality of work was incredible and my bike shifts better than when it was new. The staff is super attentive and helpful both on the service and sales side. read more

This place is a total joke. Bought a brand new full suspension mountain bike from them in October then winter came, it sat for a couple months, and I decided to take it in for a full tune up in mid January and upgraded the tubes and tires. After less than 50miles of sidewalk riding there seemed to be an issue with the gears. I took it in to get fixed and from that point forward Bikesource proved in multiple ways how completely incompetent and unskilled they are at running a business. One week in the shop before they decided what was wrong. Another week in the shop before they decided if they wanted to fix a manufacturer defect. Of course they refused to back up their own product despite the fact that a 6month old mountain bike couldn't handle the sidewalks of Denver! One more week in the shop sitting there with no work done. And one more week until we just picked the bike up while the alleged "manager" twiddled his thumbs and rattled off several "I don't know..." "Wish I would've known..." statements all deflecting blame onto some other worldly entity that wasn't his incompetence. Terrible customer service. Refusal to adhere to their own warranty for their products. Incompetent management. Worst business I've had to deal with in awhile. In fact, after calling Corporate Specialized Customer Care in California, they even said that I should take the bike to Cycleton and have it serviced. So not even Specialized's corporate office thinks BikeSource is worth a damn. Funny. read more

I spent about two weeks looking for a specific Electra bicycle here in Denver and finally ended up at BikeSource on Colorado and Yale. Apparently they just opened. I'll tell you this, they have a crapload of selection. *But*, they didn't have my bike. So I inquired about a special order and we greeted with an enthusiastic, "We can do it!" I then found out it can be done for free! Then I found out my bike was pretty expensive and was sad. I told them I needed to think about it and they immediately offered me 15% off to buy that day. I quickly relented and ordered my bike on the spot. The staff is young and doesn't really know the computer system, but they are all rad dudes. They were helpful and funny. They said my bike would come in 10-14 days and then it showed up in only 3 days. That completely ruled. They put it together, let me look everything over, and helped me put it in my car. I can't really complain about anything. I say, give'em a shot if you are looking for a bike. Any kind. Oh and on a side note, after I ordered my bike, I left there and my girlfriend wanted to go to Greentree (?) Cycles over by DU to see some Schwinn Stringrays, and as we were going there, we passed Campus Cycles and decided to pull in because they had one of those gigantic-wheel bicycles, and guess what... They had my bike!!!!!! Right after I had ordered it. But they didn't have %15 off and cool dudes working there so I stuck with BikeSource. read more

BikeSource a "big box" store is not what I usually go to regarding the care and feeding of my "steed" however, I was in need of a derailleuer adjustment that couldnt wait. If you're like me you hate hearing noises from your bike so you have to have fixed as in NOW or it's going to be a long ride home. So I stopped by and to my surprise a mechanic picked up my bike and took it to the stand and asked what was going on? WOW...WOW I said because I was still amazed that he picked up my bike and asked me what was going on? I'm liking this response already! Historicaly, with big box shops you cannot go behind the "rope" because of insurance regulations, where am I? I'm not a car repair shop with huge stuff around to cause a injury, I'm at a bike shop where the only thing that could hurt you would be the air hose! But seriously, we stood next to the bike and guess what he listened, we talked, I showed him the issue and guess what after abour 30 minutes he had my horse dialed in and runnning purrrfect. I was so excited to ride home with no noise, I told him. " I appreciated your skills and your dedication to your craft and most of all you listened to me" That is exceptional and that experience alone has me telling my buddies all about it. So listen, bottom line check them out, they will listen and you will get the best repair ever! They have my business!! read more

I'll go out of my way not to support this shop. Biking has a soul for me and this shop is devoid of that. Went to look at bikes there. The guy that helped me told me not to buy a bike there. Suggested it wasn't a good place. It's so close by and I bike a lot, so I didn't write it off yet. Thought it was just an unhappy employee which isn't so uncommon. Went to buy bicycle grease there, someone handed me grease and sent me to the register, no one was at the register. Couldn't find the guy who helped me. Had to leave without the grease. Left it on the counter. Bought it somewhere else. My son's grandmother bought a bike there for my son. Two weeks later the brakes malfunctioned, needed an adjustment when we were out on a ride. Brought it back in to see if they could adjust it for me. They told me the bike was too small for him and he needed a new bike. Upset my son who was fond of his new bike. Ended up going home and adjusting the brakes myself. Bought a tube there. The valve was dysfunctional, wouldn't let air in or out except at a trickle. They said as long as it holds air it's good. I told them I wanted them to replace it, they told me that I didn't buy the tube there. I'd rather sever a limb from my body than go back into that shop. It bothers me I have to bike passed a shop to get my bike supplies, and I can't in good conscience give that place any business. To me, that's not a bike shop, I'll be happy when that place goes out of business. read more

This is a review only about their service/repairs, not their merchandise stock. While waiting for my repairs, I did walk around the store. If I wanted to buy a Specialized bike in Denver, I'd head there. They seem to have all or most of the Specialized line on the floor, and I overheard them offering to custom order something for one customer. Plus, they seem to have a good deal of new or very, very recent Specialized stuff discounted. That said...I don't particularly care for Specialized bikes... So, I was in a bad wreck a week and a half ago. Wasn't hurt, but my bike sustained some pretty serious damage. I happened to be in the area (at King Soopers, actually) and stopped in to see what Bike Source could do for my bike. The service staff was incredibly helpful (and actually very concerned that I had been badly injured, give the condition of my bike). I had a full recommendation for service and replacement parts in about five minutes. They offered to fix my bike while I waited. They not only replaced the broken parts, but performed a full check-up and adjustment (which they threw in for free) in 25 minutes. I managed to walk through the entire store once (it's a big store) and by the time I was considering actually reading the Specialized catalogs they had at the register, my bike was fixed. Good as new. I will acknowledge that some of the replacement parts they used were a little pricier than I would have preferred. However, give the fact that they basically serviced my bike for free, and had it ready to ride again in under a half hour, I'll let that slide. read more

After having my bike sit locked up at a rack at my apartment building forever with a broken back brake, I finally decided I needed to take it in to get replaced so it could do less sitting in the garage collecting dust, and more riding on these nice summer days. After moving to the University Hills area and taking it with me, I brought it into Bike Source to have it taken care of. Based on reviews thus far, I was a little trepidatious about bringing in my old, used Schwinn cruiser bike to a store that mainly features Specialized parts and repairs. That, and I was a little worried about cost. I brought it in Sunday afternoon and right away, there were able to figure out the problem and took it back to be repaired. About ten minutes later, it was all ready to go.The gentleman who did the repair asked me if $10 sounded reasonable, which I gladly agreed to. So all in all, Bike Source is not just for buying new equipment or even a new bike-their repair center will also take any bike and they're efficient, nice, and fair. If I have troubles again with my bike, I'll definitely be back. read more

I am an avid indoor cycler/spinner, and wanted to know more as to my frame size, price range, etc. The gal who helped us told me I was "a medium-ish". She had no clue about bikes and all she wanted to do was put one on hold, and it was evident she was after commission, as all she pulled was top-of-the-line bikes, when I was clear I was just starting out. Yay for bikesource! I love these guys! I got an amazing deal during their spring sale on an obnoxiously purple commuter cruiser a couple of years ago. Obnoxious! yay! I'm so glad I bought from them, and not from the other shops in the DU area. First of all, they give you free maintenance for life on any bike you buy from them. That means when my silly bike gets a loose nut that needs to be tightened, or I need to replace a tube, or need help putting on a new handlebar because I smashed the old one all up on some sort of drunken joy ride through the woods, they do it for free! For someone who isn't so good at fixing bikes, this is a huge deal. Second of all, they never laugh at me when I bring in said obnoxious purple cruiser. At least not to my face. That alone is worth five stars. Now, don't let this review be misleading, bikesource is a happy home for the hardcore bike kid as well. They have a great selection of fixies, mountain bikes, road bikes, accessories, cycling clothing, and anything else your heart might desire. If you're in the market for a bike, need a repair, or just love the smell of fresh rubber tubes, this is the place for you. read more
