I had a very disappointing experience at Plato's Closet. The staff was extremely unprofessional and careless with my items. They went through my clothes, decided not to buy certain pieces, but never put those items back into my bag for me to take home. I ended up leaving without realizing some of my belongings were missing because the employees failed to return them. It felt very disorganized and disrespectful. Customers should not have to worry about their personal items being lost or taken because of staff negligence. I would not recommend selling here unless you keep a very close eye on everything you bring in. read more

This was the most incredible Platos I've ever been to! The girlies that were working- Giana, Lucy, & Val were all SO KIND to me! I'm one of those horrible customers that comes in with 15 minutes to spare and I'm used to the workers being really upset and trying to rush me out but they were just incredibly accommodating. *PLUS SIZE FOLKS BEWARE* Plato's closet claims to be size inclusive--not only do they supposedly sell plus size clothing, but apparently they buy it too! I was elated to hear this as I have a variety of clothes sizes XL-3XL, many of which are unworn with tags still on them. Plato's closet bought nothing from me stating that they don't purchase clothes from torrid (one of the ONLY plus size stores whose prices are comparable to free people, a brand Plato's closet LOVES to buy). OMG what a complete waste of time! Brought in multiple new with tags pairs of new religion mens jeans and new true religion women's shorts as well as new Levis and a brand new pair of Doc Martens. I was offered $99 for everything. (less than the cost of one pair of the New Religion shorts) When I declined the offer, the staff at the front acted offended? they said "we don't price the items our system does ". Walked in , two girls in the counter talking did not get greeted until 3min later. I didn't give it much thought but since im typing a review I might as well add how the customer service was. FIND NEW EMPLOYEES PLATOS!!!!!!!!! Extremely disappointed. Tons of designer clothes to sell, no where to sell them easy for $. I don't know how many times I have to write a Yelp review with NO response from management EVER, but again, this place needs to go out of business. The workers there are awful with poor style choice. If you want to sell your crappy emo 2000s clothes, or your grandmas clothes, this Plato's might be the perfect spot for you.... Yikes. I had an amazing visit at this location. I went there about a week ago, but I have been thinking to write a review as the days have passed because I appreciated the communication. I appreciated the transparency up front of the specific styles they were looking for, for the season (at this time, graphic tees, homecoming dresses for homecoming season, etc) and because of this, even if a clothing item was super cute, it could be rejected because there just isn't enough room to take everything (the store was super overflowing with clothes when I visited, so I understood). I have been to a few other Plato's closet location , but this is the first one where they actually explained what they were looking for and explained why they wouldn't take others upfront. So, when I was given back some of my cute items, I understood it's just not what they were looking for at the time. I was never one to get defensive for Plato's not taking my items, but the communication was so reassuring! Keep that up please! In terms of shopping, Plato's is one of my favorite thrift stores. I love thrifting, and I love how I know it's always going to be cute items, whereas other thrift stores like goodwill and arc, which I do love so much, is a hit or miss on actual cute, trendy styles . read more

I called the store and spoke with the owner Theresa who was both rude and unhelpful. Rather than helping me, she offered her past experience and no solution to the theft of my bag and wallet. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews on this location. When I went it was definitely busy so it was understandable why there was a wait for the dressing room. I've sold to this location a few times & I always get a good amount of money for my clothes. I think it's definitely one of the better Plato's Closet locations around. The staff is always nice & happy. I recommend coming here! I haven't shopped for anything in store, so I'm unaware of the selection, but I know they like Free People lol (that's the majority of my closet & what I bring to sell). This particular location has the best selection of all the Platos Closets in the Denver metro area. They have a huge selection of Free People, and tons of boots from both Frye and Free Bird. If you love a good boho moment, this is the place for you! The staff are super super kind and helpful with styling. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because I come here a lot, and every time it is hard to get the staff's attention when you're ready to check out. They seem really busy going through clothing drop-offs, so I get it. It's just not fun if you're in any hurry at all. read more

I have never seen such incompetent teen employees. They were rude, lazy and just really had no sense regarding of what to buy. The store was full of ridiculously crappy clothes. It was messy and I saw clothes that literally had stains on them (and not in a cool way at all!) I brought them a tub of clothes with tags, designer stuff too. They had the audacity to say my clothes had some wear and tear, like I'm not kidding I had some super cute clothes, tube tops and even designer dresses. They took a few items saying they had too many dresses and want things like jeans. Meanwhile they had at least 4 racks of jeans that obviously are not selling. Basically they rather sell jeans for $5 then buy cool clothes and sell some cool clothes instead of the crappy smelly clothes. The owner needs to hire people that actually work instead of just standing around talking crap and complaining of customers who are bringing in stuff to the store. I used sell my clothes to Plato's closet in Chicago, they were awesome, employees pick the best items . Also I have wrote a negative review, I don't want to hurt any business, but this was the most ugly experience I have had!!! Good selection, just very overpriced for used items. They are very picky about in-season, name brand items but will only give you a fraction of what is fair. For example, they bought 10 items from me for $16. Oh also, the estimated wait time they gave me was 20-30mins but an hour and a half later I was still there because the girls working were more concerned about catching up on gossip than working (there were maybe only 2 costumers in the store) In conclusion- don't expect to get your moneys worth and don't expect to get out of there anytime fast. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes for them to tell your things are ugly and sometimes it takes over an hour. read more

I usually like to shop here, but when I tried to sell some clothes today I had items from stores like forever 21, urban outfitters, Pacsun, etc. some with the tags still on... they said they couldn't take anything because of "wear and tear"... They said it would take 15 minutes to look through my things and it took them less than 5 minutes, to look through my FULL basket of clothes. Be careful, my girlfriend was here today trying on close when the person in the next stall over was recording her. After telling the worker, they got the manager who claimed to be the owner. This owner claimed that the person in the next stall was one of her past employees who was in college so would not have recorded her. I feel like this is some type of scam that the store is in on. I went in with urban outfitters, anthropology, lululemon and free people and they took maybe 1/10th of it and the girl told me my clothes were "too basic" for them to buy. However they took some ugly booties I had from 2014. I love this Plato's Closet!! When you bring your stuff into sell anywhere you go you have to think of it this way... If you don't want those clothes anymore, why would someone else want to pay money for them? Honestly. If it is something you really love, but you just never wear, and it is still fashionable, then there is a good chance they will buy it. This place is a business and they have to make money too, so you can't be butt hurt if they don't like the clothes that you don't like anymore. Besides the selling process, going in here has always been a good experience for me. They don't over price the clothes they are reselling. When you buy or sell you get a punch card and after 12 punches or so, you get 20% off your next purchase. The girls are always friendly and in a good mood! They ALWAYS explain to you what they are looking for, and reasons for not choosing your apparel. You have to wait in the store while they process your clothing, but I always seem to find good finds while I am waiting. Half the time, I buy the same amount as I just sold. (whoops) Ultimately, if you like bargains, and don't mind buying used clothes, this is a great place for that. If you like the recycling process and you need to get rid of some things, I would always swing by and see what they will take. Don't bet on this place as a money maker, just an extra boost when you want to clean out your closet. read more

So I went in and gave them 3 boxes of clothes that were in great condition and not old. When I walked in some blonde girl was already in a bad mood and wasn't even asking me thru the process of their system, she just assumed and was rude. After about 2 hours of WAITING. I came back to see how much they would take and a offer. I came to find out they didn't want anything and they said it worn out which I worn twice at the most and we're less then 6 months new.... basically wasted my time. I've come here multiple times (I haven't brought clothes in here to sell so I can't speak for that) just to look around. I do like this location better than the rest because there is a larger selection of free people and what not here, but other than that I'm not that impressed with the selection of clothing. Sometimes I can see quality items and snag them for a good price; sometimes I find something I like and I take it out to look at it and then I find out the item has holes or stains or both. Some of the clothing here also seems fairly worn looking and they still are asking a somewhat high price for it (for what it is). If I could give zero stars I would. I have been going to this exact plato's closet for years. At first they were great and had very good service. I felt as though the more I went, the worse the store got. I used to shop at this Plato's too, but the weirder the staff got, the uglier the clothes got. Today, the last day I will EVER be going to this location, I went to sell them very trendy cute clothes that were expensive brands and in style. I was hoping to make at-least $40 from my bag. As soon as I dropped my bag off I went to go run errands. Literally right when I left plato's I got a notification that my things are ready. Which is insane to me, because they obviously didn't look through my stuff or didn't care to, which shows me that they don't care about their job or their customers. As I return to Platos to pick up my bag that was ready, I was shocked when they took one item and gave me only $2 for it. They proceeded to tell me my clothes were "stained" or "not in trend" when these clothes have never been worn, and the employees that work here clearly don't know what style is when they have blue hair and where things that have never been in style! Moral of the story, if you have cute/in style clothes that you are wanting to sell and make money from- DO NOT go to this Platos location. I just finished dropping off my clothes and waited for 30 minutes with no one in front of me only to tell me they couldn't take any of my items. I realized something was wrong when I saw two other people check In and out in front of me. While disappointed they couldn't take my clothes but that's the way it goes. My frustration is I told them I would wait and yet still no one made the effort to tell me I was finished so I waited for 30 minutes when I actually was done after 5. My advice... speak up and while may be annoying to the workers, apparently they are too focused on others and one can get lost in the "crowd." read more

I always liked going to this platos closet because they have a good selection of items. Today I decided to try and sell two huge bins of items such as shoes, crop tops, jackets, etc that were name brand and in good condition. When I brought my items in the staff was very friendly and helpful with sign in. The estimated wait was over an hour, ok no big. After waiting about an hour and twenty minutes they had sent me a text to come back to the store and get my bins. When I walked in the store the cashier quoted me $9.55. I asked what was wrong with my items and the cashier stated that most of my items were torn or out of style. Funny enough... why would I or anyone try to sell torn clothes knowing no one including myself would not purchase or wear a torn shirt or jacket. So I asked one of the cashiers if she would show me my torn items and the cashier said she was "too busy". Ok. So I took my bins off the counter and went to my truck. I opened up the bin with the clothes in it and they had not even gone through half my items. There were three clothes moved off the top, bunched into balls and the rest was folded up just how I folded them into the bin. Very disappointed since most or all platos give out fliers with receipts about what items they look for and encourage people to sell but yet have employees that won't take the time to throughly go through someone's items. It's your job to care. If the items truly are horrible and really are old then I understand no problem. The fact that I brought my clothes in with good quality and made sure they were, and then waited over an hour to be told I was only going to receive $9.55 was horrible along with "there's torn clothes" etc with no proof and thought they were slick by messing up the top shirts and keeping the folded clothes folded. I have been going here for years throughout high school and college and this place continues to get WORSE AND WORSE!!! If there was a zero star rating I would do it in a heartbeat. I am not one to complain - this has been my only review EVER... but the staff here is incredibly rude and lazy! I waited over 30 minutes for a dressing room and 20 minutes to check out while I watched and made eye contact with multiple employees as they just chit chatted. I also made the HORRIBLE mistake of selling my clothes here. When I got back my one bin of clothes they took 3 items from the top of my bin. When I got home I just went through and they did not even touch or look at over HALF of my clothes in a huge bin I brought in. I understand they can't take everything but at least make it LOOK like you looked through my clothes.... My clothes were completely folded and placed how I did it, these included new Lululemon bras, leggings, and brand new shoes!! Baffling they take shein clothing and cheap brands but don't take quality clothing that IS on trend and in good condition. This place used to be great- now quite frankly it SUCKS!! It has gotten so expensive to shop here in comparison for the $2 they offer you for what they sell for $30 (I understand how profit works for them - but I think we all know they are making so much money of off us), their customer program has gone from 20% off your entire purchase to $5 off a purchase of 50 or more, plus utterly RUDE staff that clearly have no idea what trends are and are so lazy and judgey !!! The last 4 times I have left this store in the past 2 years I have been in a bad mood, by either the staff interaction or selling clothes. it is so incredibly frustrating to shop here anymore - I think I have learned my lesson finally to NEVER shop or sell to a business that does not give a shit about their customers. 4 hours of my life I cannot get back ahahah!
