This place is a scam. Jose told us to come get our clothes in a week after they go through them and then called 2 days later saying they would "give away the clothes" if we didn't come collect them. Would not tell us if they were goanna buy them or reject. I'm guessing they do this all the time and just put people's clothes on the rack when they don't come back to collect their "unwanted" clothing. read more

Would give a zero if I could, walked in with two trash bags and immediately was told we can't take that and that it needs to be in two reusable bags, no hi hello how are you first. Then I proceeded to head over to the nearest marshall's to get some reusable bags and took 30 minutes to fold and organize my clothes. Walk back into the store and the same woman just snarled at me, I walked to the counter and asked kindly if I could sell and she said we can only take one, I then pointed to the lady that directed me and said she said I could have two, and they said no. Decided on just leaving. After leaving decided to check reviews and seeing all the bad ones reply's by the owner are not owning up to their mistakes and making an excuse. Do you have to leave a star? This staff is nothing short of unprofessional and rude. They were so put off when I arrived. I was spoken to rudely about selling items, like I was doing them a disservice. I mostly sell Johnny Was, Free Birds, Free People etc and this woman acted like I was complete trash. As a national sales director for a billion dollar company, I would be delighted to come in and teach a course on business acumen but I don't think you can teach someone to be kind who has likely been mistreating people her whole life. I was mostly treated rudely by a 55+ woman with white/grey hair who was speaking to everyone, including her employees or other coworkers like trash. I've been going to Clothes Mentor for a long time, Lone Tree and another location for years. Today will be the last day. Please train your people, even the older ones, and if she's the owner, I feel bad for everyone. read more

Wow! I can't believe I have to leave another poor review within a matter of 24 hours. I just went back to retrieve my things even though I hadn't received any notification that they had been gone through; I just knew that I wasn't interested in selling to this business anymore (regardless of what they were going to buy, I was planning on taking back all of it). When I arrived, an employee asked who I was, and when I responded with my name, she told me that she wanted to talk through "a few" of the items and explain why they were passing. I couldn't tell you the last time someone spoke to me in such a patronizing way. She continued to insist, despite me trying to leave, because I had left a scathing review (yes, the employee told me my review was "scathing"). She was definitely, in a condescending and almost threatening way, aiming to put me in my place as opposed to making things right. I simply wanted to get my things and go. I honestly did not care about that particular bag, it was a bag yesterday that I do not believe was even sorted through at all. I wish anyone who wants to sell here the best of luck, truly. Prices are high compared to other places I've been. Staff was not friendly when I did take in bags of good, high end name brand items. I believe that the items were not looked at past the first two in one bag and that was it. I was messaged they were done and when I went to the counter, I was literally hand brushed off, saying my bags were at the front door and not a single item would be considered. I was actually told to go to Platos Closet with it all! Bad bad customer service, will never go back and will not recommend anyone going. read more

Have to agree when I walked in to drop off 2 baskets of clothes it was like they were trying to deter me from giving them my clothes to make money off me. For the grand reopening I came in the new store and spent a lot of money. Haven't had time to organize and clear stuff out since and come back to more rules and days out on sorting. I went in to sell clothes and was immediately told I cannot sell juniors clothes (which none of my clothes are). She then proceeded to tell me she's unlikely to take any of them because she cannot accept any clothes that are wrinkled because they have to be "floor ready". I know several other people that have sold things here before and they have never gotten stopped because their clothes weren't perfectly folded. She then gave me a lecture on how my clothes are not a good representation of the store. I then proceeded to take my clothes back and refused to sell. Wouldn't recommend selling or going here. Would not accept clothes because they were in a grocery bag. Their website says clothes can be neatly folded in a grocery bag. Also told me they would not look at my clothes until the afternoon even though I went right when they opened at 10:00 AM. Stores that are quick about looking through old clothes are better than stores that have you needing to come back hours later. I do not recommend this store to sell old clothes. read more

I brought in 3 totes filled with upscale clothes from macys, New York New York, Anne Klein, chicos, lane Bryant, cold water creek, all 3 years and under... I spent a lot of time folding nicely, making sure it was top quality! The key is UNDER 3 years old!!! I dropped off my totes, looked around the store browsing through the racks thinking to myself that I'm really going to have great outcome with this company purchasing my items!!! I didn't even get out of the neighborhood and got a call that they rejected all my clothing ! How the heck can they go through 3 totes that quickly!!! Obviously they want cheap Walmart clothing!! So beware!! I would not waste any time going to this place trying to sell your upscale clothing!! If you want Walmart/Kmart clothing at upscale prices , this is your one stop shop!! I took some clothes that were too small for me to Clothes Mentor in Lone Tree in December. The elderly salesclerk told me that I would be contacted after they checked my clothes and failed to give me a receipt, which I admit i should have requested one. Well on 12/16/22, I received a text saying "we finished processing items" and that was it! Well being with the holidays, which I was very busy with, I'd forgotten about it. Then on 1/2/23, I sent an email inquiring about my clothes with no response! Then this morning I called @9:55am, with no one answering and getting hung up on. I called again @10:56am, and spoke to a Marlene. She said she was busy with a customer and would call me back. A few minutes later she left a voicemail on my cell stating that on my receipt (which I never received!), it states that after 3 days of dropping off my items,that I would need to contact them to find out what the status is and since I didn't contact them, they couldn't sell any of my clothes and donated them! I was livid! They had my phone number and email and they couldn't contact me! If I knew that they were going to donate my clothes, I would have preferred to donate them myself especially since one of the dresses I brought in was over $200! They should have told me about their policies instead of me finding out after the fact! This company is a total rip off! read more

Love this store. Not only are the salespeople super nice, their policies are clear and easy to follow. They told me that my clothes would be done within four days, and they were ready three days early. I also received a fair amount for the clothes I provided. I love places like this because I love a good deal but this place is pretty lacking. They're supposed to have "higher end" brands but everything feels very dated and used. I think you'd find better deals and selection at an ARC or Goodwill. I've also tried selling to them and I know they need to make a profit but you get offered very low amounts for what you're selling. You might as well try selling on ebay if it really is in decent shape and a quality brand. read more

I was trying to sell some of my clothing and learned a hard lesson. Called in at 10:00 am to schedule my arrival. Was told I could only leave 3 bags and should come back in a few hours. I received the expected 855 text message that my articles review had been completed. When I arrived, Ray told me that they could not keep anything because of the 2 year age limit and gave me 3 bags back. I had to make a stop nearby and when I loaded my trunk I saw that one of the bags was not mine. Went back and asked for my clothes bag; Ray insisted that I received 4 bags. Checked back in the trunk and saw that there were only 2 bags. Went back in and asked for my clothes back! WARNING: To make a long story short - count your items and bags with her (twice)!!! Never got my bag! They couldn't find it (really??). So pissed off!!! read more

I recently bought a nice top there and I also I dropped off a bin of items to sell. the staff is professional. I dropped off about 10 items and they chose to purchase two items: a wristlet and a belt. They passed on two nice purses in good condition. They have a good selection of items for sale that are well organized. they can be a bit picky when it comes to purchasing so it can be disappointing if you have specific expectations. read more

I had a horrible experience here. I brought in a Lilly Pulitzer romper, Tracy Reese dress, and three Diane von Furstenburg wrap dresses, three items still had tags on them. They offered me $39. I also had to wait 5 days for them to get back to me which I don't understand because Buffalo Exchange has 1000% more customers and volume and they do it on the spot... Based on what I listed above (expensive and current desired items) and based on the clothing I saw in the store (incredibly dated ankle length skirts that look like the set of Little House on the Prairie), and based on the way the employees were dressed, I realize they offered me $39 because no one there has a grasp on fashion. It is a store filled with jeans and tacky summer tops, nothing in style or current. I wish they would have offered $39 as a refund for my gas and time, what a waste. read more

Went in to drop off four like new items from J Crew and Banana Republic, on hangers as they had been dry cleaned. The lady working the desk didn't even greet me, just looked at me rudely and said "they need to be in bags." I was trying to keep the items nice and unwrinkled. I turned around and left without saying a word to her. This isn't the first time I've sold here, but it will be my last. This women's resale shop recently opened in Lone Tree, just south of Park Meadows Mall. It's a really cool concept that buys and sells gently worn, "nicer" name brand women's clothing. This is for women, not teens (you're probably familiar with Plato's Closet for teens). You can find Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Coach, etc. Lots of clothing leans toward professional work wear, tons of boots/shoes, purses, scarves and accessories too. They cater to size 0-24 and maternity. I've lost quite a bit of weight over the last year and am struggling with the cost of replacing my entire wardrobe, especially office attire. This place is a fantastic solution for me! I was able to pick up two pairs of work appropriate pants in my new smaller size, one Ann Taylor Loft brand, for $16 each! I didn't have a ton of time to shop so I didn't have a chance to check out everything else but I will absolutely be back. I also sold them a bunch of maternity work attire. I didn't get much, but it's quicker and easier than trying to sell on Craigslist. And it was fast! The only thing is I wish they'd offer in-store credit for higher offer than their cash offer (like most children's resale stores do). They didn't want to buy most of my other non-maternity (too big for me!) work wear as it was older than 2 years, even though it was all name brand and in good condition- that's ok though because it speaks to the quality they're looking for to stock their shop and tells me the quality of what I purchased. The staff here are very nice the times I was there to sell and buy. There are a ton of people working there. The store was clean and very well organized; and they have at least 4 dressing rooms to try stuff on. A lot of it seems organized by color, and it wasn't too crammed full making it easy to quickly peruse the racks for something that you liked. Definitely excited for this store to help me refill my closet in my new smaller size! I will be back regularly because they have a crazy backlog of incoming clothes which means an always changing stock! read more

I am very pleased with Clothes Mentor and I am glad this option is convenient for me. I am particularly impressed with the pricing....never worn boots for $7, gently worn denim skirt for $14 and a stylish wrap dress for summer for $11. They accepted some nice business attire and casual clothes from my closet that My Best Friend's Closet wouldn't take (brands like Ann Taylor and Eddie Bauer, etc.) The staff here always looks like they are having fun and they are helpful with sizes, questions and advice. I think this store is particularly suited well for the 25-45 age women's range. read more

Prices for some of their designer bags and shoes are very close to the original price for the item across the street at the park meadows mall. So that alone is offsetting since for a little more you could go to the mall and just get new designer stuff with similar prices. Second their customer service is horrible. Every time ive been in the staff doesn't speak to you, great you, let alone acknowledge you. I've over heard some of their conversations with other customers who come to sell their clothes and they are very snippy with their customers and have an overall snoody attitude towards their guests. Finally the last straw for me coming in to this place is when i was in a week ago and their was two older ladies behind the counter laughing and making fun of one of their clients clothes that got dropped off. I work in retail management and i was shocked to hear associates making fun of customers out in front of other customers. They seriously need to rethink the women they have hired there because the idea of this place has a lot of potential, but their staff is only driving people away. read more

I've had both good and bad experiences here. The owner/manager of the store is not pleasant to work with. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and observe their behavior over over several visits, but I have not had a good interaction with her yet. First of all, don't count on convenient parking at the Lonetree store. If you are bringing clothes to consign, plan on carrying them a distance. Second of all, don't they rely on good customers bringing in clothes for consignment? Then how about a warm greeting and a smile to someone who took the time to select, clean, pack and haul these consignment items to your store???? I have tried to like this place several times, but I just keep coming away underwhelmed. There are LOTS of good resale shops in the Denver area. I don't understand the complaints - I was greeted immediately in a friendly way. The owner explained there would be a bit of a wait to get my clothes processed but that they'd text me when they were done and that was simple enough. I stuck around to browse - they started a dressing room for me but let me wander the racks after asking once if i needed any help. While my intent was to leave with less clothes...I found a $22 Burberry top and $18 Patagonia pants. Hard to complain about that! I expect to be spending more than I make here but I'm not mad at it with deals like those :) read more
