I'm not a Colorado local, but I visit this shop every time that I am in town. I had not been in a while due to the pandemic, but recently was able to return. This time the shop had moved to a new location. I was staying downtown and was able to hop on the rail and arrive within a reasonable, but m,operate walk from the train stop. It wasn't necessarily an ideal walk front eh train, but definitely manageable. This shop is always packed with cool stuff - in this newer location they have much more space and Heaven more great stuff. New and used, they have lots to look at. I was definitely impressed with the guitar pedals that they keep in stock. Really appreciate the ability to check out some uncommon stuff that I have been interested in potentially adding to my pedal board. First off I just need to say this place is amazing! I'm fairly new to playing the guitar and have gotten the pedal itch. I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help with anything. I did a little walk through just to get my bearings. Then I inquired about the plethora of pedals that they have. I mentioned I was new to the game and had questions about the difference in a few compressor options they had. The guy behind the counter was super informative and at no time did he talk to me like I was an idiot. I know that sounds funny to be impressed by that but there are plenty of places that had I asked the questions I did the "sales person" would have scoffed and rolled their eyes at me. Again this wasn't the case and it was a breath of fresh air! Did I mention they have an insane amount of pedals? But that's not all! They had a great selection of various electric, acoustic and bass guitars among displays of amps and other accessories anyone would need! I read the reviews and was skeptical because I mean you never know the truth until you experience it for yourself. I live up in Summit County and coming down to Denver can be a pain especially when you just want to be treated like a human, not a transaction at a music store. THE ONLY MUSIC STORE YOU NEED TO SHOP AT IN DENVER!!!! Flipside Music is the bees knees! The staff was so helpful and didn't pressure me. I was greeted by James and Gordo the second I walked in. The selection of pedals is unreal. They mentioned they're the biggest pedal dealer in the Midwest and goddamn they're right! They carry so many brands/companies that I love and ones I'd never heard of. Their selection of guitars, basses and acoustics are also great! Did I mention they have an on-site tech that can literally fix just about anything? I came in looking for a few pedals... delay, overdrive and something weird. Gordo suggested the LVX and James suggested the Westwood. Both insanely cool pedals. I ended up walking out with a MXR Carbon Copy, Westwood and a Rainbow machine. As much as I wanted the LVX, I couldn't afford it. Maybe next time. (Apparently there's a cult for the LVX?) Once again awesome staff, sweet gear and killer atmosphere. Guitar stores can be surprisingly unfriendly places, especially the big box ones, as employees sometimes look down on their customers' choices. As a pretty experienced player I'm not personally worried about it, but it still sucks to go in knowing what you want and feeling like you're being judged. The guys at Flipside couldn't have been more the opposite of that stereotype. They have me good value for my trade-ins and were totally fine with me playing a ton of guitars, including some I made clear I wasn't going to buy.
