Obviously the 3 negative reviews are likely to be all by the same self absorbed "musical Artist". The "Spoiled brat" attitude of his reviews states various complaints, but is designed to attempt injury and loss to the company, supposedly because an employee did not suck up to him properly as "prince of music". or "Holy Sacred Consumer" Does he mention taking his dis-satisfaction 30 feet to the owner's open office door? ... NO. I have never bought an item from either Elite or the old store "Melody Music", however I have been involved with the Colorado music gear scene since 1971. He was a competitor to my two music shops, and I never heard a derogatory anecdote regarding him. Gordon Close is a local legend and a solid reliable guy. His retail Stores have served many thousands of our state's citizens for 4 decades. He has done a lot for the Colorado music industry and for Colorado musicians. They do not sell cheap crap and they are not some fly by night firm. These bogus slandering reviews are more likely over this cheapskate being unhappy with not getting whatever he bought or paid for at a much lower cost. Mr. Supreme Talent should learn that if he cannot spell, punctuate, or compose, it indicates that whatever fake name he uses, his writings are obviously spawned from the same 1/2 educated mind. read more

I've known Gordon since he opened Melody Music in Englewood 50 years ago. I'm a drummer who fools around with Guitar and Piano, but my musician friends all did business with Gordon over the years. He is knowledgeable, and genuinely one of the nicest people you will ever meet. When my best friend and guitar player died from cancer recently whom Gordon knew well, I was tasked with selling his equipment in order to leave his daughters a legacy. Gordon helped me out immediately and without asking for anything for himself. I don't think I could have handled the calls and ads etc... to get it done. His staff helped as well and it really made my task much easier Gordon has a broad knowledge, makes exceptional guitars and is a fantastic musician which gives him a perspective others may miss. Whether it is Jazz, Rock, Classical, Folk, or Country, Gordon and his team has you covered. read more

Wow! What a really nice guitar store. Not only is it a world class showroom with all kinds of new & vintage guitars but, it's also a guitar museum with all sorts of very old & one of a kind early guitars, banjos, and basses hanging on the wall. In the middle of it all is a really nice all original Ford Model T surrounded by some of the rarest Gibson archtop guitars ever made. All in all a really cool shop with great stuff. Oh yeah, they are a dealer for Yorkville Pro Audio (made in Canada) which is really good stuff for the money. They also do pro audio repair and had a vintage Rickenbacker guitar amp in the shop while I was there. I didn't know Rickenbacker ever made guitar amps! If you have an amp that needs a repair, take it to these guys, they are pros. I have an Ampeg SVT 4 Pro that had a soldering issue, and was causing me a lot of trouble. I took it to a couple other places that failed, and then I went to Elite Sound. As soon as I walked in, I could tell these guys were pros, and I had a feeling I came to the right place. Well, I was right- they fixed my amp within a week or so, and it only cost me a little over $200. If they hadn't pulled through for me, I would have had a $1500 useless amp. Thank You Elite Sound!
