100% used inventory, but this is not a store that will wheel-and-deal with you much. They buy for "about 50% of what we would sell for." There is also no wiggle room on sticker pricing for the used instruments they're selling. Price marked is what they charge, period. Staff is friendly, but I didn't find them to be super knowledgeable about the specific questions I had. Lots of "I can look that up for you." Fair enough! It was an uncommon Fender, but showed a few concerning inconsistencies that I didn't feel were reflected in the non-negotiable and case-sold-separately sticker price. They need inventory, but the above factors lead me to believe they're only getting store stock from people who are short on cash and desperate to sell ASAP. Not much on the "nicer" side hanging on the wall. Swing by if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip again. read more

Very flexible company. I sent a message via Musicgoround's website and they got back to me in less than 5 minutes. I messaged them about the possibility of shipping an instrument that at the time was only in-store pickup. Less than 10 minutes total the listing was changed to have a shipping option. Almost went too smooth until my prepaid declined. One phone call later and my instrument is on the way. I don't know about other locations but Louisville is excellent. read more

I was excited to visit a music store, since there isn't one within 50 miles of my home in SD and only one within 100. Nice store, but a TOTAL lack of customer service! I was the only customer in the store with 3 visible employees who all seemed more concerned with cleaning than helping a customer. There was a feeble attempt as I was led to the acoustic room, but it was clear the employee was clueless, not knowledgeable, (except for useless facts,) and my impression was, "unwilling to help," as I was left alone within a minute because vacuuming the carpet was eminently more important than serving a customer who was ready to spend money. I was asked if I needed help when I was walking out, but the damage was already done and my expectations of a quality experience shattered. There is nothing that will ever cause me to return! My Father-in-Law Rick, from Willie and the Po Boys introduced me to this store a few years back. Brian's shop has been my go to music store since then. I have bought and sold acoustic guitars, electric guitars, pedals and countless accessories both new and used. Yes, this is a smaller store but it is stocked full of treasure. This is a true musicians place that doesn't stock useless junk. They may not stock the specific thing you are looking for but they just might happen to have something even better, and I can just about guarantee you will love the price. I have always had great service anytime I'm in the store. Sure, I might need to wait my turn but it's always been worth the wait. I was so glad that John helped me find a guitar. I am a little grandma and I told him the guitar i had was to big for my fingers and he found me the perfect little electric guitar and he tightened it all up for me and he sold me a strap for which I didn't know I needed. Then he put it on,, which he didn't have to do. Then we got a little case for it he put it in the case. I've bought a couple of guitars, a bass and a mandolin from here. Overall I have been very happy with every purchase. They were also helpful in me working out how to purchase a guitar from a store in another state for my grandson. From time to time they can be a little slow to help, but I understand that there is limited staff and it really only takes having a couple of people being helped at the same time to back things up. read more

Looked online to see their inventory, and found the Guitar and Amp I wanted, and I was also going to buy accessories as well. I got to the store, and walked in, and for 45 minutes, nobody said 'hello' or 'Can I help you' or anything. The lady at the guitar wall was with a customer so I waited patiently beside them. She glanced at me a few times and walked passed me as if I was in her way. I just shrugged it off, and kept looking at the guitar I wanted. It felt good, and I was ready to buy, just needed someone to help me. I suppose the lady in guitars was the only person who could help in guitars, as the other staff were just mulling around in other departments. When the lady was done with her customer I eagerly awaited her to return so I could make my purchase. As it turns out, she had left for the day after her customer, and another staff member came over to the guitar wall, sat beside me, and began to play a guitar. I looked at him as he was fiddling with an amp and playing. This was pretty much it, so I left without making a purchase. If I could give lower than 1 star, I would. This was the most irritating experience I've had. Most unhelpful and somewhat rude. I suppose they are all really millionaires that do this as a hobby and don't really need to sell anything. Unable to give less than a one star. Found a guitar online in the Colorado store. Tried to purchase but it would not allow the purchase to go through. I tried 3 different cards and 3 different internet connections. Called my bank to verify issues with the cards and they said there were no issues on their end. Called the store to try an purchase via phone and they said they were "not set up to take payment via phone". Really??! It's 2021! They went on to tell me they would let their network person know of the issue. Clearly they don't want business. read more

I came here to check out basic used bass guitars and amps; I'm a guitar player but wanted a simple bass to mess with. I found a decent 4-string, 3/4 size SX bass and a new Starcaster 15B amp and a 3-foot cable, all for around $250 maybe less! I've had them for around 2 months now. Idk if it's the cable or amp, but the wiring is sometimes off. The bass plays well for the most part, though the tone isn't the best. For the price, however, this was a steal! I don't think I would have found anything nearly this nice for around this price at Guitar Center. I highly recommend! read more

This is a tiny store with all the essentials: guitars, percussion, some orchestra and wind ensemble gear. I don't think their selection is very well refined though (which could be a reflection of the interest in the area for high end instruments). Being an acoustic guitar player, I walked into their guitar room and didn't see any guitar I would be willing to put my money on. They didn't carry my favorite brands (Martin and Taylor). So I moved onto the percussion session. They didn't have a whole lot of drums to choose from, and when it came to the other percussion stuff, I couldn't find a whole lot of variety with the exception of some shakers and bongos. I do think they are a good store if you need just basic stuff like strings, cables, music sheets (though their music sheet selection is also limited). They do offer music lessons in two separate sound proof rooms. The staff seemed a little busy when I walked in. They didn't say anything to me in 20 minutes... which makes me think very seriously about their customer service quality. All in all, this was an okay store. The location is very convenient (sitting near 24 hour fitness). read more

I needed the action adjusted on an old Squire i had hanging on the wall for 15 years and after waiting for the sales staff to get to me. he was able to fix my guitar and give it a once over in about 15 minutes. total cost 5.00 The store is small with a decent selection of used equipment. I was mainly interested in the guitars and amps so i cant comment on their other musical equipment like Violins and keyboards. They have one main check out area right in the middle of the store and its gets a little cramped around that area when they are busy. This place is worth checking out if you are in the aurora 7 hills area. Super friendly and helpful. My first impression was pretty good.. and some of their prices were cheap enough the guitars practically jumped into my hands. read more

I purchased a used Korg X50 keyboard from here. Upon arrival, it malfunctioned, with a system failure and motor boating high pinched beeping noise, as it repeatedly attempted to start. It was delivered 09/07/2018. I troubleshooted the issues for 2 months, with it sometimes working and sometimes not. Mind you, I am not a keyboard player yet, I didn't know if these issues were user error or not. It eventually got to the point where it would never start. I contacted sales on 11/04/2018 about the issues. They recommended a factory restart. I did this and it started working again. It has failed multiple times again but my band attributed it to a frayed 1/4 inch line cable we used. It then failed again (with a new cable) during a band practice (12/06/2018). MGR recommended to run another factory restart. I could not do this as I did not have a functioning computer at this point. I had a computer again (01/17/2018) and attempted a restart, being somewhat successful. There appears to be failure in the power section of the keyboard, as tapping on the top of the board near the power seems to influence the frequency of this motor boating and sometimes fully start the keyboard for a short period of time. Unfortunately, I am past the very generous 2 day return policy, so I tried to file a claim with UPS. I do not have the packaging anymore because I don't want roaches in my house, so I cannot file a claim. I purchased a working keyboard and received a $320 piece of plastic instead, plus $80 shipping for some reason. This company is fraud, but they (including the other stores in Winmark Corporation) will never get to steal from me again. Edit: I relayed this review on Facebook, and the company reached out to me, telling me to talk to the manager of the store. They offered to refund $150 to my card, which I assume should cover any repair costs. Moving review from 1 to 3 stars because of the headache but at least I will end up with a working product. read more

I bought my first DEAN acoustic guitar from this location. I also LOCKED MY KEYS inside my RUNNING minivan outside this locations store. The manager....who still works there..(five years later) got into his vehicle, drove me HOME (IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC) so that I could get my second set of keys...then drove me back to the store..!!!) so that I could unlock said vehicle...(with still blaring radio) so that I could continue on with my on with my "special" life. I have taken guitar lessons at music go round, I have purchased violin strings and a chin rest for my son here. Brett is an awful manager. My account was debited 200 dollars months after my purchase. Brett has no customer service skills and disregarded my concern for running my card 4 months after I bought my son his guitar for his birthday. I have no problem getting my son another guitar and gladly give back the guitar, with or without reimbursement for their careless mistake. In summary what a shitty music store. Ive had some good experience trading in it at this music go round mainly with the owner and Ian but was lowballed pretty hard today by a rather young employee. After a friend recommended music-go-round, I decided to check it out today. They have a pretty decent selection of well priced guitars and accessories. I picked up a Gibson epiphone, a strap and a chromatic tuner for all together $135. I was greeter pretty quickly and the guitar was cleaned and tested before being sold. Terrible customer service. I called because i bought a lifetime warranty cable and was told that i could just bring it in and swap it out. I called and spoke to a guy named brett " who has been working there for two years and has never heard of a lifetime warrant on there cables". So i question myself and go to there website and see that indeed it is a lifetime warranty. Read the package ass hat. I called back brett to inform him of this and didnt even get an appology.I called the littleton store and they said yeah bring it on down and we will swap it for you. I have purchased 1000s of dollars worth of guitars and gear from these guys. I will never go back there because i value customer service more then kinda cheap prices on used gear. read more

I will NEVER shop at this store again. I just purchased a used guitar for my daughter for her birthday. I know absolutely nothing about guitars. After watching a youtube video on how to trim the strings, I visited this shop with the intention of purchasing a winder. (I'm not sure that is what it is even called) When I walked in the store, no one acknowledged me. I walked up to the counter where an employee was busy on a computer and with some papers. He asked if I needed something. Duh! I told him that I didn't know anything about guitars, and what I was looking for. He said they had the winder, and continued with his work. Ummm...as I wandered he came over and opened a container and handed me the said winder. I also asked what sort of pic she should be using. He pointed to a small selection, and went back to the counter to do his work. Ok. Did he not hear me say that I know nothing??? Hello! All he had to do was strike up a conversation...ask a few questions. I would have likely purchased whatever he told me I needed to get my daughter started with her first guitar. I don't even know if the strings are good or need to be replaced. How would I know? In fact, I had the guitar in my car and would have been delighted to bring it in and have someone look at it, give me some advice, maybe show me how to trim the strings, or put a new string on. But maybe that's not what this store does? I'm beyond pissed. I should have just gone with my gut and walked out the door, and headed on over to Guitar Center. The winder-thingy I purchased has the most god-awful screetching sound. I can hardly wait to use it. Not. This store might be ok for the experienced guitarist who knows what they need. But for someone inexperienced looking for help and guidance, forget it. Go somewhere else. And by the way, I believe it was two Christmas's ago my husband came to this store to purchase a gift for me - a metronome for my piano. He too was unaware of what type to purchase and could have really used some professional assistance. He told me after Christmas how rude the employee(s) were, and how frustrated he was. I took my guitar there for a simple string change and wanted intonation done because it was a Floyd Rose and I didn't get my guitar back for a whole month came back with scratches and dents and it was brand-new ESP guitar now that I'm changing the guitar strings by myself I noticed that some of the parts are missing I need to go out and get the blocks that go inside Floyd Rose they just used the screw to hold down the string I was furious when I got my guitar back they said they would give it back to me just charge me for the strings I told him I bought the strings and thanks for the free dents scratches too bad because this place is close to me and if I can give zero minus stars I would instruments cost a lot so if you need in care about your instrument WARNING!!!!! read more
