Came out of town from California and this restaurant left an impact without a doubt, noticed it was under staffed a bit and the team really worked together to take care of the flow of things, Michael was our server and he was nothing but great energy and positivity, doing everything he could do to manage those tables by himself and he killed it!! The man deserves some recognition without a doubt and then some!! #lovingit read more

This place deserves no stars. The TVs and atmosphere is fantastic but the customer service of the managers are not solution oriented. They would not correct their own mistakes and rely on excuses and simple apologies to meet the customer needs. We were clearly explained a policy that no one could be seated at a large table if 100% of the party were not present. We were 4/5 people present. They immediately sat a table of 6 with three people. We complained, asked for a manager and got some excuses and an offer of a cookie. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has a boss. We asked for the higher manager and she basically said sorry and asked what she could do. I asked her to solve it by putting tables together and she said she couldn't until people left. She would not move the table of three to a smaller table. Apparently the rules don't apply equitably. Too bad. We came to watch UH and UK in the sweet sixteen, we arrived an hour early and planned to eat and drink all night. We left disappointed and probably won't be back. The server was amazing and the management needs retraining. The customer appears to not be valued or right at this establishment. read more

Vibe wasn't what I expected. It's connected to a hotel which made seating confusing. The actual bar area doesn't have a lot of places to sit. And it's HOT inside. read more

I really like this place! Love the overall ambiance of the hotel. HOWEVER.. the service.. sucks!!! I'm a chef so I notice the little things, and the little things do matter. I've been here a handful of times and I've gotten the same thing every single time. (Mainly because everything else doesn't sound appetizing AT ALL.) Oddly enough the price has been different 3x.. ranging from $9-$15. Which I'm not really upset about.. what I am complaining about is the portion size shrinking with the price increasing. #annoying! So then there's the actual waitstaff. UNBELIEVABLY unprofessional. The things I've witnessed them do is unmentionable. One customer complained about having the wrong side with his order.. the waiter left his food on the tray, on the tray jack.. to go back to the kitchen. Another couple.. after they sat themselves (because the hostess could never seem to stay at the hostess-stand). The waitress made them get up and go back to the hostess stand to b seated.. only for the (clueless) hostess to sit them right back in the seat they'd just left. The couple eventually got up and left because the waitress that made them get up was supposed to wait on them and they weren't having that! This place has a long way to go.. and they're ill prepared. read more

Biggio's - Chill fries with cheese and the loaded nachos in the background. The only reason I come here!! - Sports Bars Near Me - Houston, Texas

Amazingly good pretzels! Holy Moly! That cheese sauce is to die for.... literally die for! I ate here at least once a day while staying at the Marquis and never once was I disappointed in the food. The hostesses were pretty unwelcoming and rude, but once your get past their grumpy faces, the servers and food are fantastic. It's a pretty large restaurant with a lot of counter height seating and lots of TVs to catch your favorite sports game. Would definitely recommend coming here for a bite and a game. read more

Sat at the bar after a poor experience at a lesser restaurant across the street. Great service. Nice beer selection. Ordered two hot dogs. If you have not eaten in the past few days they are perfect as they are huge. Would come back. read more

Can't even describe this as horrible service as we never got ANY service. We followed direction on the sign to seat ourselves, 15 minutes later still no one had stopped by to acknowledge us having sat down or take an order. Went up to the bar to order and got a "can I help you?" Yes, help would be taking my order where I'm seated in YOUR bar, but nah. Exchanged maybe 3 words with the bartender whose only purpose seemed to be to put people dining here in a worse mood than they arrived. Saw multiple wait staff just standing around and staring at us but no one bothered to come by, they were too busy disappearing into the back and laugh with each other. Witnessed one other table ask a server if he would be serving them to which the server responded "I thought someone else is going to help you" If you want to pay horrendous prices and be your own server for the day- hooray you have found your place. read more

ERIC M was the worst server at the bar. He started off with an attitude and was very very rude. He made my first time experience at this bar the WORST and makes me not want to come here at all. I did not appreciate how he spoke to me and my friends. It was the attitude for me and I will not tolerate that. He clearly was upset that he had to come into work this evening. -Taneshia MF Marie read more

Visited Biggio's on Saturday night 9/19. Walked in at 6:16pm not a single tv on the first floor broadcasting the Astros game. Asked the hostess if they were going to show the game and she said: "oh yah if there is an Astros game on we show it" my response was well it started at 6:10. 10 minutes later finally we had the game on. Ordered drinks, chips, queso, guacamole and flatbread. The flatbread was a frozen round pizza. Chips and dips were good, drinks good. Service slow. We counted 10 "ladies" in swimsuits and no coverup dining in the room. Outside in the valet drive arrived police cars, ambulance and fire truck. Apparently there was an altercation either in the lobby or at the pool. We will not return. read more

Great food and drinks! Such a good atmosphere for a date night or just late night drinks with friends. You will really enjoy the nostalgic baseball park bites and rich flavors. Happy dining! read more

We visited Biggio's for dinner during an Astro's game, the staff was amazing! We had a variety of food, burgers, dogs, chicken/waffles, and even a kids meal. We had a tired toddler that didn't want the melons for fruit, and a cook, Alex, went out of his way to get her some other options. The burger was cooked perfectly. We all felt safe, but very welcomed. Special thanks to Alex Cantrell! I would highly recommend! read more

I've been here for almost half an hour and no one has yet acknowledged me. I even walked up to a server, to ask for help, and she told me to please wait. I went back to my table and she has yet to come by to ask if I need anything. It's a real shame, considering first impressions are everything. Twice now, another server has walked by me, looked directly at me, and then continued to ignore me, never once stopping to ask if I need anything, considering the table in front of me is completely empty. If I could, I'd give this place 0 stars, considering I never got to try the food or drinks... read more

We thought a few of the reviews of this place were a little unfair, as they were placed immediately after the place opened, which also happened to be Super Bowl week in Houston -- so we decided to give them a try anyway! We arrived about 4:30pm before an Astros game and the place was empty. We were seated immediately and were well taken care of by the wait staff. The food was delicious, appropriately portioned, and priced as expected for a place like this ($90 for a family of four, including an appetizer and 3 alcoholic beverages). Try the BGO (steak filet on a toasted roll with spicy aloe sauce and fried onion strings). Yum! The place really filled up around 5:30pm, so get there early if you'd like to eat before the game starts. As best as I could tell, the restaurant does not take reservations. The only thing that was a little weird is that the receipt says "Biggio's ***Outlet Name***" like they haven't properly set up the register. I'm sure that's an easy fix. We'll be back when we're in the area. The hotel (Marriott Marquis) is beautiful and in a perfect location adjacent to the Discovery Green Park, Convention Center, and sports/concert venues. And Biggio's is definitely hip/cool without kids, but also quite kid friendly at the same time! read more

my father & I came here before an Astros game, because it was too far and too hot to walk to Papasitos inside the Hilton. I'd rather get a heat stroke than eat here. The food is mediocre & the customer service is just horrible. Every waitress had an attitude when you asked them for something. I asked a lady for napkins and she scanned the table to see if I had used the napkins she previously gave me, IM EATING WINGS, do not scan the table, just bring me the napkins. she also looked at my empty water glass and ignored it and went back to conversating with her coworkers. I guess you have to ask them to do their job????? avoid this place at all costs unless you want be treated poorly. read more

Let's start off with the great things! Open concept, big lounge area, tv's from head floor to ceiling and they have a great balcony! The restaurant itself is pretty cool for a sports bar! I came for lunch. The waitress was okay, I'm not going to score based on service, that depends on who you are assigned by setting area. Menu: small, not much variety which is smart for kitchen staff but simple for customers. I ordered their brisket street tacos, they were good, but not the best I've had. It was served with a side of chips and green salsa. My coworkers ordered chicken and waffles which were also okay, and the other ordered a Cobb salad which she loved. I think this would be a fun happy hour spot, I'd like to go back and try their dinner menu. Overall, it was okay on food, 4 stars for atmosphere. read more

Overall terrible experience. Started with check in. They are stuck in the 1980's. They make you wait at the entrance as they're still calling out names rather than texting. We got some drinks at the bar. Bartender was a nice guy but didn't know anything about the beers on tap. Then we got seated and waited for 30 minutes before a clueless waitress came up and asked if anyone had helped us yet. We told her we had been sitting there for thirty minutes and not one waiter or waitress even walked by our acknowledged us. Zero apology or anything. We asked her how long food would take as we're going to the game. Clueless. Needless to say we left. Such a nice place but horrible service and management. Would not return. read more

Worst experience ever! I don't expect much from a sports bar but boy did they fall short or should say, Strikeout!! I decided to try Biggio's since I'm a huge Astros fan. The disappointment was like a bomb that kept exploding. The decor dismal and I say this because there is just one Biggio jersey above the hostess stand and no other BIGGIO memorabilia to justify this being Biggio's sports bar! The atmosphere was that of any other hotel lounge. The food was just horrible! The drinks overpriced! The service nonexistent! Should I go on? I can go for days however let's keep it short and wish I could say sweet. Try it for yourself but why waist your time. read more

I've been here a few times before while in Houston great staff, nice location in the hotel, food is essentially what you'd find in an apple bees only twice as expensive. Called to see if restaurant was still open at 10 pm they do not take live calls said to go to website no specification on when they stop serving. Get here at 1030 they don't serve food . Wasted money on an uber trip and then the bartender didn't even offer us drinks. Trash for the prices read more

I could not recommend this place LESS! I had a tasteless $18 burger and a good $8 beer. Even their cheap domestic beers are $7. One of the worst burgers I've had in a long time. It was so bland, like they didn't even season it. Avoid this place, if you can. read more

I really want to give this place a great review since I live in the neighborhood but after 2 separate visits in the past week or so I don't think I'll be back. Atmosphere has the perfect sports bar vibe. TV galore! But that's where it ends... To keep it simple, the food is bad and the service is slow. I have had a variety of items from the menu (appetizers, flatbread, special fries, wings, etc) and each item has been bland, boring and delivered with subpar presentation. I could make better food myself. As for the service, I understand the place is new and can only hope that more experience breeds quality and consistency. I hope that both Marriott and the Craig Biggio brand take a look at these recent reviews and make the necessary changes in the kitchen before it's too late. Hire a real chef to revamp the menu and deliver Houston an exciting yet classy sports bar scene that we desperately need. I really want this place to succeed! read more

I've been a long time customer. We stay at the Marquis every time we go to an Astros game. I had the absolute worst service ever and it was not due to being short staffed. I was trying to pay my tab and a bar tender yelled at me. Needless to say after speaking to a manager he comped my one beer and a pizza I had ordered to go. I will never go back! They lost my business for good. So sad! read more

Came here since I was attending a conference on Fri, Sat, and Sun our group was very hungry. On Sat there was a career fair with only snacks in the morning. The opening session was at 1 pm and no other snacks were served there was a break between 5 and 6 before the opening reception. Came down to Biggio's for some drinks and didn't realize we were hungrier than we thought. The group order Wings, Bison Chili, and Chips & Queso and drinks to start. One complaint - the bar was out of Shiner's Strawberry Ale but I noticed the menu I was given is different than online and doesn't list the Strawberry Ale. Wished I knew they had mixed drinks. The in-restaurant menu only listed liquor options. The food was good we devoured the food and put in a 2nd order for Loaded Nachos and Brisket Tacos. Sorry no pics I was that hungry. read more

The waitress was a doll and attentive. We challenged her on the menu. Even though the menu was changing, she knew what to recommend and the choices. There are about 15 TVs, one is maybe three stories. A lot of vibe right now, pre-Super Bowl. My burger was superb. It was the bison chili burger, chili on the side for flavor . The pickles were excellent. The burger had a nice charred flavor. Fries were as good as any place in HOUSTON. This place is definitely worth considering for a ball game or a watering hole when downtown. read more

Wonderful experience. My husband, daughter (8 months) and I were walking around downtown at a festival in the area and stumbled across this place. Immediately, we were greeted with great, friendly customer service. Our waitress was Scarlet and she was delightful! We were sat at a high table next to the windows at first. Once Scarlet noticed our table was too high for the highchair for our daughter, we were seated at a low table. We definitely appreciate her accommodating us! Great service, awesome big screen tv's for watching all the games, and delicious food. The atmosphere of the bar is really great, and the menu really fits the baseball theme of the place. Service was sooo slow. Would not recommend. Took over 30 minutes to get our drinks each time we ordered a round. Terrible.

We went here as a party of 13. Everyone placed an order, including multiple kids. Kids meals came out in about 40 mins. After several wrong orders of adult meals came out, the service stopped. The waiter stopped checking on us. He delivered food to all tables around us and never inquired about our food. After taking with the manager, she told us that her food runners told her waiter that the food was already delivered. Clearly no food was delivered. The manager made no attempts to correct this situation, other than offer to package up our food that had still not been delivered and send it out as a to go order. We had waited 2 hours to get food that never showed. Our kids were ready to leave to get to the lazy River upstairs. We declined the to go. When you sit at a table for 2 hours to eat a meal, you expect to eat at the table. This establishment and especially its servers are horrible. Avoid this place at all costs. Especially if you are on a schedule. The worst part of all, this restaurant was empty when we arrived. There was no excuse for this type of service. read more

Skip this place if you need to see the game! Rude Bartenders that do not understand why guests come to a Sportsbar! Sat at the bar On Sunday Sept 18 with a few friends around 11am. We talked to the bartender Adam to make sure we could position ourselves on TV that could be tuned to the our requested game. We proceeded to order food and drinks and patiently waited for Adam to turn the TV to the correct channel. 11:30, 11:45.. nothing. So we asked him again, and then 2 more times before noon. at 11: 45 he said "Ma'am you've asked me 7 times... I'm getting it" . Finally at noon, I said asked more forcefully... and reminding him it was a noon game. He replied by saying taking his iPhone out and showing it to me " It's barely noon now ma'am" -- I replied saying - We've been asking for an hour and we just missed kick off. Keep in mind that no other game was playing on 2 TV's... it was a blank screen! He then told me "it's not like i've been just sitting around -- I'll get it when I can". Really? you work at a sportsbar and you are annoyed that someone is asking for a game? It's Sunday -- all the TV's should be tuned to a game. I've never had a bartender address me so rudely. We searched for a manager but none were in sight... of course it was busy, so that part is understandable. So I'm forced to write this, my very first Yelp review. Hopefully management reads it and fixes a big problem at their hotel! Terrible Customer service and extremely rude staff!
