This restaurant is located inside the Westin Hotel and I came here for a late lunch with a friend. I decided to indulge in their Houston Restaurant Week Menu and chose the Summer Bliss Salad, Branzino, and Ube Lavendar Cake. My friend ordered the Linguini Pesto. The summer bliss salad was light, refreshing, and actually pretty filling. It was the perfect way to start the meal on a hot summer day. As for the Branzino, the fish was great, and the risotto was wonderful (not exactly sure if I was able to taste the lavender though). But the star of this dish was the Shug sauce- super flavorful and I wish I could take home a jar of it with me. I also tried some of my friend's Linguini Pesto and the pasta was nice & al dente and the pesto sauce was delightful. One thing I noticed from the beginning is that the service here is pretty slow. It took a while to get every dish but the servers are all very kind and I appreciate them doing their best. One thing I wish was different about my dining experience is that I wish I was told ahead of time about how they ran out of Ube Lavendar Cake. This was the dish I was looking forward to the most but to wait until the very end and be told that they don't have any more was a little bit of a let down. Instead, I opted out for the Bread Pudding which was great! Overall, pretty decent spot for food but if you go here, it's best to make sure you have extra time to spare.

Soup of the day. Wish I could remember the name. Very flavorful Caesar salad and some chicken.

Stopped in for a light lunch and was blown away by the soup. Great salad too but the soup surprised me. Great service. Definitely the best lunch in the medical center. Absolutely coming back.

The staff was attentive. My lentil soup was very flavorful. Wish I had the bowl instead of the cup. The Caesar salad was good however I it would be more enjoyable if it was chopped. truffle fries. The wedge salad needed a bit more punch. The blue cheese wasn't pungent enough and the ranch dressing was overpowering. The hot and dirty martini was a winner.

I work right across the street and finally was able to give them a try. We took the advantage of eat, drink HTX 2023 and it was good. They have a nice roof top with the view of the medical center. Our server (I believe her name is Imelda- a petite Hispanic lady) was great. The food was OK actually better then I anticipated.

I had a very great experience here tonight, despite all the mishaps that went down. Hear me out: People make mistakes, and as someone who has worked in restaurants, I don't fault the restaurant; there are a lot of moving parts from the kitchen to the table. To me, it's how a restaurant works to make amends when that mistake is made - that determines the overall experience for me. The ambiance to Terrace 54 is definitely classy and upscale, very peaceful, luxurious, with a view to the TMC Houston skyline and modern architecture. We were seated and greeted by our server, Tristan, who did a great job assisting us with our choices and communication. Our food came over 50 minutes later after some kitchen mishaps and food errors. Though we were very understanding about it, Tristan talked us through it and managed to settle the bill to a considerable discount. I felt honored to meet and have the issue addressed by our server, the man working expo, and the head executive chef. They were so kind as to talk to us individually and made sure we were satisfied and comfortable for the rest of our dining experience. And that, is service. Thank you so much for the great evening and special thanks to our server!

Quick bite on a late night after check in. Convenient and friendly staff. Cozy spot and a quiet atmosphere where I feel safe and served with delight even late at night. I had chicken and it hit the spot. A little bit too salty but over all good food!

Food is good, and drinks are good. Service is so-so, which I don't blame on the servers themselves. Sitting at the bar/bar area, they just seem to be too busy to be attentive. If you're staying in the hotel, it's definitely worth eating at, for convenience. It can get loud sometimes, once the people in the conference rooms get out and head to the bar.

It's not a typical hotel breakfast. Everything was well cooked, hot & fresh plus the service was excellent. The manager came by 2 times to check on us. I will come back soon for a staycation & to try the dinner selections.

Good hotel restaurant, very convenient and wide variety of breakfast options. Made a great latte with oat milk.

See review from Jeff P. Below. The food is horrible. The Westin should be embarrassed. They can do better.

When we walked in, a couple of really nice girls greeted us and walked us to our table. We were seated all the way in the back in a pretty dark corner. At first I thought it might be a little too dark, but once we sat for a minute it actually felt kind of cozy and worked for the vibe. They had a Valentine's Day special menu, but we decided to order off the regular menu instead. My husband ordered the lamb chops and I got a steak. Both were good... but not good good, if you know what I mean. For the price, we were expecting to be a little more impressed. The service was also pretty slow. Our server didn't seem to have a lot of tables, but it still took quite a while for them to come back around each time. We ended up only having one drink each mainly because it took so long that ordering another one didn't really feel worth it. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but for the price and the location we were expecting a little more. The atmosphere is nice, but the food and service just didn't quite live up to it.

They have valet and friendly hotel hosts that welcome you at your arrival. Monarch staff is attentive and knowledgeable. This restaurant is famous for their Lamb Lollipops, and this is one of my favorites dishes, I have had Lamb Lollipops in many other restaurants, but these blew my mind away! With crushed pistachios and feta cheese, this one of the items they will forever keep, absolutely delicious! We also had pizza, very good as well. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, there is so much art in every corner, definitely a charming place for a date, happy hour or business diner. You will not regret dining here!
