While we waited, we were given water. The dishes came out at different times. They first served us the dumplings which were really good. The sauce they were in did have some chili sauce, but it was mostly like a sweet soy sauce and really tasty. It came with about 6 dumplings with a perfectly cooked wrapper and filled with flavorful pork - simple but delicious. Next was the eggplant. I was expecting a heavy garlic presence, but it was more like a sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant was very tender, but really hot so we had to wait to let it cool down a bit. The rice came after. I honestly think this was one of my favorite dishes since it was perfectly cooked, great flavor, and good portion. Lastly, the chicken came out. There was a large pile of chicken, but half of it was peppers. The chicken was cut into little bite sized pieces, each fried perfectly. Some pieces were more tongue numbing than others but it was nothing aggressive; very gentle and comfortable numb. I would have liked if there were music, but the no music was fine too; an escape from chaotic reality. Our total was around $50, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we got. I would come back to try other items.

The alkaline noodles were thin and firm, with a great texture; the flavor was oily, savory, and slightly spicy, with a delightful sweet aftertaste--fragrant but not greasy. The cucumber shreds added to the overall refreshing taste. Green Pepper Mao Xue Wang 青一色毛血旺: My first time trying Maoxuewang with green peppers, and it was surprisingly fresh and clean, with a medicinal aroma. The spiciness was only mild, and it wasn't oily at all. I showed it to our server and instead of saying I'm sorry, decided it best to argue with me that we had 3. Wrong move, I told her to fix it. After watching her argue with the bartender for 15 minutes she came back with an amended bill. The drinks came off and the bill was $11.00 higher. Looked again and she again charged me for one extra beer. Normally I would have let it go but now she had me pissed from our previous interaction. Again argues with me telling me I had 3. I told I would walk out right now if she didn't take it off. Came back a third time and this one put me over the edge. I see now my bill had two entrees on it that we never ordered. So after three times explaining to her that she F'd up told her she better make it right now or we are walking out on the whole bill. She finally came back with the correct one but an extra half hour spent just to pay for what we ordered. We paid the bill even left a tip, which after rethinking it wish I didn't. The other couples wife told the whole story to the hostess going out the door. Not even a " we are sorry, can we take something off the bill" nothing. Like I said I never post here but they really don't care about customer service.
