This place is fantastic. We brought Steph and Alex here on Friday, Oct 27 for dinner. We were seated within 5 minutes. They don't have liquor so we ordered Sangria. RJ and I shared shrimp in garlic sauce and a lobster roll which was huge. I think Alex had a lobster Reuben and Steph had a chicken wrap. Change in plans took us here on a Sunday night. Not too crowded when we got there but it filled up fast. Had the "frickles " fried pickles for appetizers. They are good and plenty for 4 to share. Dinner orders were lobster Ruben, fish and chips, shrimp basket and Mahi-Mahi Ruben. These did not disappoint. I had the shrimp basket and these were large pink sweet shrimp lightly fried in a tempura batter. Excellent. Sides were loaded potato salad and coke slaw. We have a house down the street, so we eat the rooster quite often. I walked in the door and realized they've changed owners. . I was talking to the server "Brianna" and asked if they still had the mother clucker. It's a chicken sandwich they had on the previous menu with the previous owners. At that time a cook named Eddie walked by and said I can make that for you. It wasn't on the menu and he went above and beyond to make the guest happy. Highly recommend the place! I wasn't too impressed with the food. Some reviews say that the servings were huge but I'd have to disagree. I had the Caesar salad with the bronzed shrimp and scallops. It was a decent amount of seafood but they were very light on the lettuce. And then I had to request the Parmesan cheese since it didn't make it on the salad. Then it was drenched in salad dressing. On a good note, the Frickles (fried pickles) were very good and the serving was very large. The price was very good for the amount that was served. Also, the corned beef Rueben was as described. Food seems to of gone downhill. Went last night, wife ordered fish and chips (fries) which came with two sides so she got onion rings and coleslaw. When the meal was finally delivered it was a couple of pieces of fried fish and the onion rings, coleslaw with no chips. Had to explain to the young waitress who barely spoke English that fish and fries usually come together when you order fish and chips. The fried fish ended up tasting bitter apparently due to dirty oil. My wife mentioned it to the waitress who made no attempt to relay the concern to the kitchen. I ordered the open face roast beef platter which also took sometime coming out. The roast beef and gravy came out less then luke warm to the point the gravy started to congeal. I hate sending food back for a reheat because it seems to take twice as long to come back out and this time was no exception. I think last night we learned our lesson and won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find so many vegetarian options! I usually cheat and get fresh fish when visiting the keys but it was comforting knowing that there were additional food options for me. Great food and great service. I was disappointed when they brought the drinks out with straws already in them. This is such a beautiful place and we know what plastic pollution is doing to our oceans. We are here twice in our 2 week stay. The food was good the first visit and not over priced for the quantity. We ordered from their special board and was very pleased with the dish. Warning when the waitress ask you if you want the cherry pepper sauce on the side, take her advise. It was very spicy and I enjoy spicy dishes. Second visit Daughter had their soup and salad they were out of conch soup so she had their French onion. It wasn't good. I had their 2 handed Reuben well I had better. This is probably my favorite spot for seafood in the keys, especially if you're looking for good scallops. I'm from Missouri, so when it comes to fresh seafood, we're pretty limited. Aside from this, all of their food is made from scratch which is always a bonus. Clean establishment along with a friendly and attentive staff. My two complaints are only the placement of the bathrooms, (right in front of a server station), so there's not much room for a line and there always tends to be one. The second would be their up-charge prices.. I ordered the shrimp/scallop basket and requested to have them coconut battered instead of sauce battered, and the manager told the server to charge me $5.00 for it.
