Dropped in on a dreary Sunday morning. Needed a little boost! Ordered a plain bagel with cheddar. (I'm a man of simple tastes.) Bagel was excellent. Just the right chewiness with the classic flavor it should always have but sometimes doesn't. Wash it down with a very good cappuccino that came at about a third of the price most coffee joints are charging (and they do it with straight faces too!) and you've got as good of a grab-and-go eye opener as you're likely to find anywhere. Decent bagels. Usually impressed with bagels and sandwiches. But holy cow, can you guys move any slower?? Seriously. It should take 20 minutes to serve the 4 people in line in front of me before taking my order. Even had a sheriff officer in line in front of me and he had to straight up leave 15 minutes into waiting because they move so slow. Look at any coffee shop, they're definitely busier than this place but with proper organization they actually make orders in a reasonable time. Line is too the door and the employees are all working on one order together instead of helping people in line and absolutely no sense of urgency. read more

This review pertains to the "61419 97th St. location" Man, I just moved here from Nashville and was craving what else? Bagels! It was raining that day and early afternoon, so I thought they might be out. I asked for a bakers dozen variety to go. When I got home an tried one, it was hard as a rock, as were the other 12 remaining bagels! I toasted it and it helped a little bit but still no improvement. Not wanting to waste money, I've endured eating one each morning. My war-torn parents taught me and sister to never waste food or complain. I'm regrettably eating one as I'm writing this, but I do have hot coffee to soften the blow of each bite! I hate bringing bad news, or harsh criticism, to my reviews, but frankly, these are the worst bagels I've ever had in my life, period! I'm 67 years old and am a world traveler and never had bagels this tough before. Maybe sell them to the military for vehicle tire replacements! Circles of bagel goodness are often something that you really want on any given morning on this one it was just that way! Coming here I really just wanted something quick and mellow and that's exactly what it was as the bagels were totally yummy and just what they should be! Of the few breakfast options I went with the sausage egg and cheese bagel on an onion roll the eggs and sausage were alright kinda needed a kick though that's when the Tabasco came into play and it was much better then! The best part of it here was the bagels as wet purchased a few and they were all what was good the following morning but either way you bagel it it's a bagel! Overall the bagels are what's good here the breakfast sandwich not so much so I'd keep to the bagels if you decide to pay a visit here! read more

Nice place with a good variety of fresh beagles. I had a breakfast sandwich and it was very good but not amazing. I also had a cappuccino- for me it was way to wet more of a latte, but for a latte it too was very good. Serviceable and filling I came here for a lunch break while on a business trip. I can say that based on my experience they are a totally acceptable stop your your lunchtime needs and probably for those at breakfast. Just watch for the lunch rush. Big O has the virtues of having a good amount of free parking (as they are adjacent to a gas station). The interior is actually very spacious but is sparse of seating. It seems that they secured a great space, but just didn't have the tables to fill it. I ordered the club sandwich for lunch. I was well prepared and done so quickly, but largely unremarkable. Any sandwich shop can do the staples to expectations or create those real specialty items that you can't find anywhere else, but what truly distinguishes them is how they try and reinterpret classics. Big O wasn't trying to do anything special, but they did meet the expectations. Something to be aware of, Big O is close to a high school, so your lunch rush is going to be full of the populace of the school quickly. Come in before, come in after or just be aware that right in the middle, you will be in a sea of skinny jeans and backpacks. read more

First, the good news: the bagels are delicious and the kids working the counter try very hard. Now the bad news: there appears to be no manager and very little training. The problem is that we would like a latte with our bagel. (It's on the menu - but perhaps too much to ask?) We have been there when... they were out of espresso beans, the espresso machine was broken, the latte was luke warm, the barista was literally reading the instructions on how to make a latte as she made it (my apologies to everyone in line behind me), the line was almost out the door with 2 workers running their tooshes off and call-in orders apparently getting highest priority. Service and food is awesome! 20 cent fee to use a credit or debit card is unacceptable. First off, which I have reported to Visa, you can't charge a fee for DEBIT card transactions. Second, credit card machines are the cost of business. Stop being cheap. Up your prices if you have to but don't charge a fee for swiping my card. Also, get a credit card machine that allows for tipping. These girls work so hard and a lot of people don't carry cash. You don't pay them well (I've seen your craigslist ads for employment), so at least let them have some tips. read more

Great food and service. This is my go to spot for bagels. I don't know why CB is complaining about 20 cents. That person obviously has no clue how merchant services affect small business. Why should Big 'O raise prices for everyone to cover credit card fees? If I pay cash, I appreciate not being charged for merchant services. Cash is King and it also allows me to tip the employees. The turkey, bacon, avocado bagel with veggie cream cheese on a sun dried tomato bagel was screaming delicious. The bagels are good but the service is terrible. Today 4 people were working the counter during a steady but not busy period. when I came in, I was the only one placing an order. Several more orders were taken after about 5 minutes. 3 people who came in after me were given eye openers but mine was no where in sight. No one asked why I was trying to talk to them, finally someone asked what I wanted. I wanted my order, duh. They found the bagel half wrapped, sitting on a counter getting cold.
