Got the chopped pork and sausage which were both delicious, they've got great sauce (more vinegary which is how I like it) and the Honey Sriracha Brussels might be one of the best sides they have there. Visited for the first time in a few months and the menu has changed. A lot of the items that made my family fans of this place are gone, like chopped chicken and Mac & cheese. There only 3 platters available (although they were out of the meat for one of those), a few sandwiches and a few apps. Outside of that, you must order meats and sides a la carte. Since they no longer have chopped chicken, I ordered the half chicken. It was the smallest half chicken I've ever seen. There was maybe 10 good bites of meat in the whole thing. A quarter chicken at another local BBQ restaurant has more meat and costs less. If you just want a sandwich and a beer, you'll probably leave satisfied. But if you want a good BBQ meal, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. read more

Visiting Cary from Denver and looking to have some great NC BBQ. We got fast and friendly service for a large takeout order of 2 lbs of pork Q 6 sandwiches with coleslaw and some blue cheese coleslaw. FREAKING OUTSTANDING!! The sandwiches were piled high and delicious with their tangy sauce, served on the side btw. The slaw was perfect and the blue cheese slaw was amazing. The 2 lbs traveled well and was just as good two days later, we froze it. When we return to NC, Big Mikes will be our first place to eat. read more

Lackluster BBQ establishment since it changed hands. Brew && Cue was much better. The brisket sandwich was very dry & cold. My co-worker liked his chopped pork. The waitress was very disengaged. She brought our drinks, without any eye contact, and when I asked for a straw, she was already on her way to the next table. Tried to get the attention of the purple haired server, to no avail. Why??? She was on her fricking phone! Total fail. Management needs to conduct secret shopper competency assessments. So happy Harvest Bread is close by. read more

The brisket at this place is seriously so delicious! Service was really prompt and friendly! Seating is a bit tight so may be hard to go with a big group but a few to a table would work! I wasn't a big fan of the bread the brisket sandwich came on, nor was I a fan of the Mac and cheese. The corn bread was pretty good and so was the slaw and potato salad. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, honey siracha brussells sprouts, and banana pudding. We really liked the meats and the beans, though I thought the brussels were just ok and the banana pudding was dissapointed. We had also ordered tater tots, but found out when we opened our takeout order at home that we received two doses of brussels. They don't have a gluten free menu on their website, but they did have a list of all the gluten free (and gluten friendly) items when we went in to the store. I believe they said the pork, chicken, and brisket were all GF, as were the beans, collard greens, cucumber salad, and maybe a few other sides. The tater tots and brussels do not contain gluten, but they are fried in the same fryer as other glutenous items. I would definitely go back, since the meats were great, but would probably change up the sides and skip dessert. read more

Went here and brought out of town guests on a Saturday evening in August at 6. We were seated and basically told we are out of everything but brisket and chicken. It's a BBQ joint, we're here for the pork. Nope says the waitress, we haven't got any. 6 pm on a Saturday in Summer? At least they could have put a big sign on the door but we had already waited to be seated, got a table and had our drinks and then they spring it on us. So really without making a fuss we couldn't leave. So we ate all of our sides and some of the brisket which none of us really care for. Maybe it's a good idea to call ahead and figure out if they have any pork before you head out to this establishment, if what you want is really BBQ pork. I won't waste any time going back. read more

The food here is absolutely incredible. We stopped here after doing some grocery shopping in Cary, and it was well worth the time and money! The burnt ends were beautifully tender and tasty, and the chicken was absolutely delicious! Their mac and cheese tasted like they really put care and love into it. Some BBQ places almost seem to add mac n cheese as an afterthought, but this place really makes it good! Their collard greens were also good, and tasted very yummy and clean (collard greens fans will know what that means). The egg rolls were also to die for! For beer fans there were also lots of local beers on tap. The banana pudding is an absolute must-try, as that was the perfect end to our meal! The atmosphere was very homey and comforting. It was quiet and intimate without being awkward or slow. The servers were attentive, engaged, and very welcoming! I really thought the Pit was the end all be all for BBQ when I moved to Raleigh, but my coworker recommended Brew N Que and now my mind has changed! The pork spring rolls were delicious, I especially loved the relish on top which I wouldn't have thought to pair with it. I had the ultimate sandwich with pulled pork, Mac n cheese, pimento, pickles & four slices of bread. I thought it was good just hard to fit in one bite! I ended up taking half of it home, and I actually loved it even more as leftovers reheated the next day. The potato salad is a must order, I would come back just for that! They're bbq sauce was AMAZING! Tangy and sweet! In addition, I felt the service was 5 stars and our waiter was so knowledgeable sharing the story of the restaurant, the chef, etc. He was thoughtful enough to let us try the pickles separate from the sandwich, which were very flavorful and interesting. I also loved the beer selection and the beer wall! I will definitely be back, and I'm excited to try the piggy Mac next time! read more

Super solid BBQ right in the middle of Cary! Quite unassuming at first but the food is on par with some of the better BBQ I've had. Nice and tender pulled pork that, doesn't pack too much flavor to begin with but the sauces they offer in house are a perfect pair. The cornbread is amazing and comes with most all dishes. Oh, and I can't forget the butter that accompanies the cornbread, I don't know what's in it but boy is it delicious! This place.....great service and great food! The only change I would make is the potato salad. It was just roasted potatoes with mayo, which may be a good thing. Too bad, this was my favorite BBQ place for a long time. It's been going down hill for a while now and I don't think I will return. The food was great and I did reccomend it to everyone. Tonight I paid $50 for two taco plates and two beers. Nobody cares here anymore and it shows. There is not one person working there with a good disposition, much less just a good personality. Rude and basically who gives a fu**. The tacos are a joke. For Brisket tacos they put one thin slice of sad looking Brisket on a f'ing tortilla... that's it. It used to be two pieces of chopped Brisket with a really good seasoned tomatoes, onions etc.It was so pathetic looking , I literally looked at it like wtf? Then with FU attitude the lady behind the counter ask "What? You want it chopped? It was such a stupid pathetic looking plate... I should have just left. Nobody working there seems to know what good service is or give a damn. $50... $50 what a joke this place has become. I have been coming to this place since it started years ago. I have been coming here once every week or two forever. Not again. Don't waste your time or money because nobody working there gives a F' if you come back anyway. BBQ was wonderful! Smell coming from the place made me pullover and try them for the first time. I'm just getting out into the public and I took one star away because the man taking orders and interacting with the public was not wearing a mask. Actually no one was who was working there. But I don't wear a mask to protect me. I wear my mask to protect you and if you want my business again, wear one to protect me. I will shop where I'm made to feel safe as we venture back out into the world. If this concept doesn't make sense watch this video of lazar enhanced water droplets that come out of your mouth when you speak--then see how wearing a simple cloth mask keeps those droplets from flying toward me. No one can possibly know who is sick and who is not right now and we will all be safer if we just wear the masks....whether the government says you have to or not. read more

Our daughter's fiancée came home from his bachelor trip and broke up with her and cancelled the wedding. We immediately contacted Mike and Robin at Big Mike's and spoke with them via phone and email. We asked for a refund for our deposit since it was more than 60 days from the wedding. We had previously been told you could get a refund if they hadn't ordered the food. The total stated that $4134.72 was due 4/12/24. My daughter, however, paid over $2067.30 towards the event. Initially , Robin called us back and said she had talked with Mike and because April and October were the busiest months. She called me back and stated they would give us a credit toward any future events. We stated that we don't have any other occasions events with 180 people coming up and we wanted our deposit back as that is what we were told and there is no date stating anything need to be paid before 4/12/24 and there was nothing in the contract stating that the money was non-refundable. We have all emails and invoices and nowhere in the contract/invoice does it say you can't get your deposit back or any cancellation time frame. My husband called Big Mike's and asked to talk to Robin anonymously and was told you could get your money back if event cancelled up until food ordered/ 5 days before the event. We requested Mike call us and asked that he speak to my husband and I to discuss and provided both phone numbers. We stated they plan weddings 6 months out and if he could re-book the day he would see what he could do. After discussing the details with him and stating the contract didn't state this and we would take them to small claims court and the above discussions with Robin, he refused to add my husband to the call and when I tried to do so he hung up on me and has since refused our calls. Don't plan an event with this company unless you plan to lose out on all your money should an emergency arise! read more

We came here on a Thursday night because we were craving some meat based food -- what better food is there than bbq? My friend has been here before and highly recommend the egg rolls. At first I didn't think the egg rolls would be so special, but when I had them, it was amazing!! Definitely a must try! Also, they come in huge portion. Then we ordered a full rack of ribs to share. It was really good too. Probably will come back when I crave some bbq in the future. ------------------------------ UPDATE: I did come back for more bbq. I actually ok my mom here on a Saturday night after a long day of hiking. I was quite excited to introduce to her this amazing bbq place with amazing egg roll. However, the egg roll was burned this time and not as good as I had last time. And my mom really didn't like the beef brisket we ordered. An extremely disappointing experience. I've been a few times and have to say they offer some exceptional customer service. You'll be remembered and greeted with a smile every time. Sadly, that didn't make up for the worst ribs I've ever eaten. The Brisket is above average but after already trying it, I was ready for the ribs since they were described to me by the staff as "the best ribs and BBQ in 100 Miles in any direction." I have to say, if that's true then I've clearly made a mistake in relocating to Raleigh. These ribs were shockingly tough, often cutting and offering a painful scratch to the throat on the way down. It even seemed as if I was sold yesterdays leftovers from the back of the fridge. Their side dishes are somewhat imaginative but also leave something to be desired. I'd recommend the place for their large variety of local beers if that's your thing, or if you're in the mood for some decent brisket. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the ribs. read more

YOOOOOO! So this is my new favorite spot in Raleigh, perhaps the planet. The collard eggrolls were tasty. The macaroni and cheese... AH-MAZ-ING! It was creamy, perfectly seasoned, prepared by angels, etc... I ordered the big and cheesy (pork between 2 grilled macaroni and cheese sandwiches, but who was I kidding? I couldn't eat all that! By the time I murdered half an eggroll and my Mac n cheese, my tummy could only accept 2-3 bites of my sahnweesh. But those 2-3 bites were delightful! Might try the brisket next time, but, honestly, I wouldn't be mad about sampling a little of the whole menu. read more

Food is phenomenal. Customer service is so so. Waitstaff seems super annoyed that you're there. I've worked in the service industry long enough to know that when it's busy, of course people are going to rushed. Everytime we've gone in, it's not at all busy. And they couldn't be bothered to even ask how you're doing. Very "what can I get you? Great it'll be right up" and that's it. They always seem annoyed to answer questions.
