When we walked in my family felt like it smelled bad. ( everyone had opinions about how it smelled. Smoky, liquory, old meatish, cleaning products) with that being said it made it difficult to eat the food because of the smells. Personally I didn't have a problem because I smelt the smoke and it didn't bother me. The food: we had the fried pickles. They were very good! The sauce is excellent. We ordered 2 meat platters & one sides meal. The meat platters the pulled pork was excellent, the ribs were ok and the brisket was not good. One of us thought it smelled bad. The fries were over seasoned with salt, the onion rings were good, the sweet potatoes were excellent, the mashed potatoes were ok, the corn ok but had good taste, the green beans were good, the Mac n cheese was good! Overall we have been here before a few times and had great food, so I'm not sure what was going on tonight!

Very southern I actually thought I might be in Georgia. Menu isn't too complicated and we were trying to keep this simple so here's what we ordered: Grilled chicken caprese. Just what it says. Layers of mozzarella and sliced tomatoes with grilled chicken on top drizzled with a balsamic reduction. If you want greens there's two pieces for decoration. I enjoyed this dish. Chicken was moist and had great flavor. I do wish there were a few more pieces on it for the price point. I felt I got about a third of the breast. Ivy Caesar Salad: my husband loves Caesar Salads and he said this was just ok. He didn't like that some of the pieces looked old. This salad was fine and not anything special. Raspberry Tea: very sweet with a weird tang. Didn't really seem like tea at all. Wouldn't get it again. Overall this place has great ambience even if it is rather pretentious and over the top. Staff is friendly and food came out at a reasonable amount of time. Not sure if I'd go there again. Lunch is pricey. Without tip this was a $40 meal and that included only one NA drink.

It was early evening and when I walked in I thought the decor was so adorable. Quaint and just really lovely. I was getting a good feeling and wondering why I never had stopped in here before since I love coming downtown and going to different places down here. The whole vibe to me is just very comfortable even though it can get busy there is something that makes you feel calm in this area. We were seated and I looked at the menu wanting steak and even though it was early they didn't have any ( rib eye ) Yes it was on the menu but that was ok, instead I chose a Wam burger and fries. To be honest I wasn't impressed. I asked for medium rare and my burger came out well done. It was a bit flavorless to me and the fries weren't even hot nor crispy. The service was just ok and when we had gone the restaurant hadn't even been very busy. I may give Ivy on the Square another try if I have a good reason. We will see. I wonder what you think. Due to this we now ordered the entrees. After a period of time we inquired of the waitress about the onion rings. She commented " oh they didn't bring out the rings?" She went to get the onion rings , which clearly were under a heat lamp because the were barely warm. Less than 5 minutes later the entrees arrive. That's what we were trying to avoid. Appetizer s and entrees delivered almost together. One pasta dish barely had any sauce on it. The waitress was asked for butter for the mashed potatoes and sauce for the pasta. Now mind you the salads we ordered NEVER did arrive. The new waitress delivered the extra sauce but no butter. After a period of time I had to walk up to the kitchen to get the butter. The waitress intercepted me asking what I needed . I replied , "the butter we asked for the now cold mashed potatoes. She proceeded to microwave the butter and deliver it. Clearly I don't now work in the restaurant business, but an ice cream scooper of hot mashed potatoes with the butter would've been appreciated. When we asked for the bills the waitress had no idea who for the most part had what. We had to go over with her and itemize each item. She proceeded to show us how to pay on a tabletop thing. She got exasperated when we asked for paper bills to go over the items. We've eaten at Cheddars all over the midwest and the food is always delicious and the servers great. This place really sucked. One and done at this location.

There are a few tables outside, right by the door. There are signs that make it clear they are non smoking tables. We decided to eat inside, were seated right away and our server came quickly. She told us what some of the popular burgers were and we made our selections based on that. I had the Jamaican burger cooked medium. This burger was cooked perfectly, had good flavor, was topped with a sweet and spicy jerk sauce. It was everything that I expected. My friend had the Brie burger and his daughter had the smash burger and they both said those burgers were very good as well. Our server was attentive to our needs throughout our meal. I would definitely go back again.

We showed up tonight to celebrate my birthday (today), my hubby's (Monday) and our daughter in…read morelaw's (this past Thursday). Couldn't think of a better place to eat, drink and be merry at! Tonight was "trivia night", which, while we didn't play, we did enjoy trying to guess the answers. Our grand daughter's face was a big "O" of amazement when realizing the upper tables were enjoying roasting their marshmallows at their table...when she was told they were making s'mores...she went nuts! She's so excited to get tableside s'mores! My wings were even better than they were last time since there was an addition of seasonings sprinkled on them along with the dill pickles, but unfortunately, our cheeseburger pizza suffered from not having enough mustard and ketchup base to it, the tomatoes were enormous chunks and so were red onions. It made it very difficult to eat without things falling all over your clothing since they were such huge chunks on top of the tiny pieces of pizza. My husband got the steak bomb sub, son got a pepperoni Stromboli, daughter in law got the Sharon's Brie burger, grand daughter the child's cheeseburger and fries. Our apps were the garlic knots, mild wings (10) and fried cheese curds with sriracha ranch dipping sauce. Everything was okay, except that it took forever for everything to come out, compared to our first visit. Even our s'mores seemed to take forever. The quickest part of the whole visit was the bill . The fella that waited on us the first time was on point. Not saying that the young lady waiting on us was rude or anything, but I think she was trying to do too many things at once and some things just fell by the wayside. Last visit we came in on a Saturday as well, but perhaps some people are just better at multitasking? I don't know. This time, our bill was over $200 with tip, but we still brought home food again. Not a lot compared to the last time, only 2 little pickle wings (I still can't get enough of those darn things!) and maybe 4 slices of pizza. My husband's loaded tots weren't to his liking, so there's something even for the dog tomorrow We may stay away for awhile and see if they manage to work out some kinks. If anything, the best rule is consistency. If the food preparation is not consistent every time you go to eat there, there's a problem. There should be NO deviation just because someone else is cooking it. All recipes should be the same. Twice we've ordered the same items and they've been different. I still recommend this place for great vibes, cocktails, food and the tableside s'mores. There's just nowhere else like it!

I had onion soup which is supposed to be their specialty. The cheese was melted but not browned as I like to see and broth was light in flavor. We both decided we like the onion soup at a popular chain steakhouse better. I had the meatloaf... not a lot of flavor, kind of boring. My wife had liver and onions and said it had a lot of veins in the meat. We wanted to get he bread pudding which had a wonderful description, but they didn't have any. We'll go back , but will try other entrees, and no onion soup. it seems like most other restaurants these days have a more modern flare for flavor, with exciting flavor bursts in meals. This place seems stuck in history a number of years back. Again not bad (except for my wife's entree) but boring. We saw some other entrees that we have hope for so we will give it another shot in a while.

We were on their bottom floor patio (which was lovely) but I did spy that they have a rooftop patio as well (what's not to love?!?). For my entree, I got their salmon entree. It's glazed and comes with a size of their crispy brussels and cheesy grits. The brussels were delish and their cheesy grits rank among some of the best I've had with sharp cheddar giving them the perfect flavor kick. The atmosphere was so pleasant. For a semi fast food restaurant it is healthier than others foods obviously but the fat in these foods is insane and there really aren't any low calorie, low fat meal alternatives so this does baffle me when they quote healthy. I guess this depends on what you are looking for. Aside from this they do have wonderful fresh chicken salad and they serve you a nice plate that is quite enjoyable. They offer delicious sides, soups and desserts! It's very clean, you order at the counter then sit to eat. It's a very simple process but they seem to get pretty busy fast although this didn't seem to cause any issues as everything was managed smoothly. The whole concept the way it was run reminded me of Chick-fil-A but much better food and options. It's even closed on Sunday! I had a scoop of chicken salad, broccoli salad on the side with a pickle . What I enjoyed is that it there were a dozen different flavors of chicken salad ! This is a fun thing, you can try more than one and if you want to be adventurous you can try them all or take home a bunch and have a chicken salad party ! Seriously though there is something for everyone. I had the "Cranberry Kelli" which is sweet cranberries, slivered almonds blended and balanced perfectly. A favorite plate is the trio where you get 3 scoops of 3 different salads or the same or egg/pimento cheese on a bed of lettuce, or as a sandwich, a cup of soup, a pickle and a cookie. Some of the desserts looked delicious too! I wish that there was more than soda and water I was supposed that there wasn't even a cup of coffee. This to me I couldn't believe but maybe I'm expecting too much. It's definitely worth the visit stop in and enjoy! We've always been intrigued by it when we see their billboard along Hwy 200, so this day was the day we'd try it. We walked in a clean and inviting space, proceeded to the counter to peruse their menu and placed our order. My wife, as a tribute to her late mom who loved chicken salad sandwiches with apples and pecans she would order from a local grocery store, opted for the Fancy Nancy on a croissant. As a side, she chose the potato chips. I was eying the jalapeño chicken but after asking the lady behind the counter what their best seller is, I pivoted and ordered the same sandwich as my wife but I had the Poblano Chicken soup as a side. The chicken salad tasted fresh with some sweetness imparted by the grapes. I thought it would've been better if I had bacon in it for some saltiness. The soup was tasty! Wished I had more of it than what was served in a small cup. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just under $26. Good value, friendly and efficient service, and good grub.
