I recommend the deviled eggs and onion rings- both were among best I have ever eaten. Variety of sandwiches and salads all reported good reviews. I had their pub burger and added bacon. It was very good. When the meals got backed up a bit waiter brought us chips and salsa and kept us updated on meal. We stopped here for lunch while visiting Walla Walla. Although there was no lot parking there was ample street parking all around the brewery. We opted to sit outside as there were tables available in the shade. It took a bit for our server to find us but once she did the service was good the rest of the meal. We asked to taste the Vanilla Milk Stout before ordering it since that is an unusual beer. Our server was accommodating, and we liked the somewhat sweet flavor and each ordered that beer. It was pretty good! For lunch we both went with the Fuego hamburger. The spice of the BBQ sauce was really good and the jalapenos had quite a kick. It was a good burger. The only downside was the meat was a bit overcooked. The side salad that came with the burger was very fresh and it was a good-sized portion. We enjoyed sitting outside near the stone fireplace and watching people walk up and down the street. While visiting Walla Walla for the first time as a last minute planned mini vacation, we found this stand-alone building with a nice patio. As soon as we stepped inside we knew we came to the right place. It's really spacious inside and outside (important feature during this pandemic). We ordered buffalo wings and Cesar salad with chicken. The portion was generous and the wings were perfectly crispy. They have a full bar so you can order almost anything. This was the only place we could find on a Thursday night that we could just walk in. The food did not disappoint and was what you would expect from a brew pub. Don't hesitate to throw a mint at the bartender as the sign says as you walk in. We watched as people waited to be seated and were never helped. So, instead of doing as the sign said, they left. The Brew Pub has recently changed owners who have made some great changes: cleaned up the mish mash of posters, added comfortable cushions, gave it a good cleaning. We've been in off and on and have seen the positive changes. However tonight was different. We started with the Brew Balls. Tonight they were taco filled with a queso fraiche sauce. When it came time to pay, the bartender totaled our bill and flipped the screen over for us to tip. There were 3 boxes on the screen - 3%, 5%, and 7%. Really?? For those who know the Brew Pub has been around for a long time. But recently purchased by new owners and rebranded. The reason we went tonight was because we heard it had new owners. In the past the Brew Pub has had a reputation of not so great service and not so great food. Positive: The food tonight was better than it has been in a long while. They have simplified the menu so the back of the house can do a better job of perfecting what they offer. Negitive: The service. Our server was not the most attentive. She really didn't check in, or see if we needed anything while eating our meal. Which I did, I wanted a fork. No big deal, figured I would go up to the bar and just ask for a fork. The "Shift Leader" chick, told me some guy was going to go get them for me. So I return to my seat so I wasn't standing there in the way. When he came back a few minutes later with them, she hollared 'hey I have your utensils'. But did not bother to get her butt out from behind the bar. Im guessing her conversation with the guy at the bar she was flirting with all night was more important then walking them to me. Great example of leadership in that one.... :-\ Anyway, back to our 'server'. After waiting for a while, plates cleared, drinks empty, actively looking for our server to get our check. I finally flag down another server and ask for our check. She asks who our server was, we describe her, and she goes to get our check. Seems our server was at the end of the bar chatting and laughing with 2 other servers. The 'Shift Leader' at the bar must be the one in charge of teaching the dying art of customer service? So once again the Brew Pub is on the last choice list. Hopefully...... The new owners, who I understand are new to this industry, will look a little closer at the staff. Train up the new servers a little more, demote the lazy 'team leader' and emphasize customer service. read more

We stopped for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was clean and our server was very nice and personable. We ordered a couple cocktails and a beer. They were brought to us quickly and were very tasty. There were four of us and we each got something different....fish tacos, macaroni and cheese, a burger, a wedge salad, and the fried balls. We received our order quickly which surprised us. They were much faster than other restaurants we have been to. The food was DELICIOUS! The only thing left on our plates was a few tater tots. My husband and I were weekending in Walla Walla and when we got into town we were starving and Big House Brew Pub was right across the street. We sat at one of the high tops and the server was extremely friendly. We ordered a couple of beers and apps and they were all good for the evening. The only thing that made me a bit nervous, and it could have been time of day, was the pub was crammed and some of their patrons were not socially distancing well, but that is not the Pub's fault, it is really their patrons not being self aware. We snagged a table (miraculously) after the Parade of Lights was nearly over. We had called around to a few places earlier in the day but no one was taking reservations due to the event or had already been booked full. Getting a table for six (four adults and two kids), being served drinks almost immediately and getting out of the cold and into the warm felt like a win already. It may have been due to ravenous hunger and exposure to cold temperatures but the chicken strips and fries were the best I'd had in years and the cider on tap took it to the next level. My husband had the fish and chips and he would order it on repeat weekly if it was in our budget to do so. The vibe was both adult and kid friendly, and to top it all off, live music started to play, with some Christmas music sprinkled in as well. When we asked the manager he didnt seem bothered by it. Our drink glasses stayed empty for a long time too again until we flagged someone down to get refills. Drinks were very weak tasted like syrup, food was slow got our appetizers at the same time as our entree, appetizers were still part frozen, did not get water or utensils when we arrived table was dirty, had to ask waitress multiple times to get them, she was rude and inattentive, tried to ask bar for another drink since we could not get her attention and was shooed away immediately for forgetting my mask while walking to bar and the bar informed our waitress because of this they would not serve us another drink " which would be our second" upon paying for meal waitress peered over the top of each person watching then write her tip she didn't earn. Unfortunately as much as I want to give a glowing review here it is hard to get there given the food vs the prices. The atmosphere is good as was service, which is noteworthy. However, while I understand that times are tougher due to the pandemic, to me that seems to be a situation where you really want to give a patron their money's worth vs less. The order was pretzel bites to start, followed by chicken strips with fries and the club sandwich with fries. Also, one fountain drink. The pretzel bites were good. The chicken strips came with three and the fries. The club sandwich came on toasted sandwich bread like an elementary school sack lunch with a slice of deli turkey, a slice of deli ham, a thin slice of cheese, a couple slices of bacon and one leaf of lettuce. (I mean my hand was bigger than the whole sandwich.) Adding in an appropriate 18% tip the total was well over $50. Disappointing to say the least vs the cost. read more
