Excellent selection of beer and ciders! The owners Jay and Tye are amazing and they host a lot of fun events like trivia, Singo and Bunco! Such a cool local hangout!

Bad seal at the top of the crowler. See that active leak?! Argggghhhhh!!!

40 Taps has a lovely beer selection, generally nice staff & have one of my favorite beers, so I always take a crowler or two to go. I'd give this place 5 stars if my crowlers were sound, but *always* at least one of my crowlers leaks! I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue & the crowler machine needs to be fixed or if it's human error... I hate to be a complainer & usually only realize it after it's been in my travel cooler a while, but I hope they can fix this issue. I just talked to another guy at the bar tonight who said he put a crowler from there into his pannier & it slowly leaked for days... This is the *only* place from which my crowlers have ever leaked for whatever that's worth... and I *love* my crowlers (read: I get a lot & often!). Please fix this leaving crowler issue & you'll be golden! Cheers!

Great selection of beer, decently priced and just a fun atmosphere. Service can be a little slow at times but being a new place I'm sure it will pick up soon.

Ok selection but No fresh hops. No food. Couple mediocre food trucks. Not much competition so it is what it is.

We found the staff here very friendly. It's just your standard dive bar but there was no lotto at the time we were there, but they're trying to sell so it may be back eventually. We didn't care as we were more interested in poutine fries and cold beer. They have a couple couches here too so we decided to sit there. Glad we did because we were able to chat with locals who joined us (who also happened to know relatives of mine who grew up there). The food was good and I liked that it was a little different than what I usually see here in Portland. We decided to return another day for dinner because I needed to try the lobster mac n cheese melt. Yep, it was as good as it sounds! We sat at a table then and there were lots of locals at that time who were super friendly. This was a nice spot to get to chat with new people and enjoy just some solid food and drinks.

It was memorial day weekend (Sunday) and my friend who's a local, told me about a 90's night they were having there because of the holiday. I was like sure! It sounded great! Me and some other friends showed up and it was PACKED! The parking lot and the inside. We got lucky cause some other friends were there before us and they actually held a table with enough seats (there was going to be about 10 of us) and we had a place to sit. Coming in, they had a small dance floor, a DJ, and a table full of older looking 90's games! Sorry, Rubiks cube, Uno... a bunch of stuff! :D The line for the bar was pretty long, and it didn't help that the workers were going a little slow... I don't know, maybe they were understaffed or something, but the line took forever. Whatever, I made sure I ordered enough drinks to get me going for the night, I picked up Uno from the front table, and got a game going with my friends while we drank and waited for the rest of my buddies to show up. They announced a Karaoke contest and everyone told me to sign up so I said sure! The DJ was really good. Playing mostly 90's or early 2000's music for the theme. I ended up getting 2nd place for the contest :( But I still had the best time out, in Kennewick, here. I loved it. I couldn't comment on their mixed drinks and their food as I didn't order either but the vibes were all there and it was honestly a night to remember (or what I CAN remember) haha. Thanks for hosting. I'd definitely come back if I could!

I could easily see myself spending a few hours here and lounging, maybe writing or grading papers, and just enjoying the ambiance. It does have that local-pub type feel to it. Easy to find parking right out on the street. I selected the seasonal cocktails Demeter to drink. Gin is my spirit of choice, and the addition of black currants and blackberries was intriguing. The Cassis Noir De Bourgogne was the dominant flavor, rich black currant flavor from the liqueur. I do also appreciate that the drink was a very nice balance between mild tartness and mild sweetness, I could easily drink four or five in a sitting and still feel good about it. I do enjoy the terpene notes from gin and was unfortunately not able to taste them since the black currants were some dominant. The blackberries and the rosemary both struck me as there for the visual appeal more-so than the taste. If the berries were muddled more, then they too could add depth to the flavor. As they were in the mostly intact state I drank around them, a straw would not have been appropriate for the drink. I think one could cut the ice in half, it would still stay cold, and the ease of drinking would go up. I could probably also get more blackberries into my mouth for an additional sensory experience. Lastly, I did wish for more bubbles, more effervescence. Keep a neutral flavor (like carbonated soda) and let the Cassis shine.
