5 Stars for Mac's Bar & Grill - Pendleton, OR After eyeballing Mac's Bar & Grill for a few weeks, we finally stopped in, and total satisfaction achieved! Our waitress (the young lady with long black hair) was incredibly friendly, attentive, and fast. Excellent service from start to finish. My husband ordered the Brisket French Dip--rich, flavorful, perfectly tender-- and paired with French fries that were crispy to perfection. I had the Chicken Ranch Quesadilla with fries as well, and wow... our taste buds were taken to a whole new level! He enjoyed a cold beer on tap, while I sipped on a delicious Bloody Mary, such a perfect pairing with the meal. The food was well-seasoned, generously portioned, reasonably priced, and absolutely hit the mark. This bar-and-grill experience checked all the boxes. I highly recommend stopping by for a lunch date or kicking back with family and friends. So I have given this place a pass 3 times or different issues and not made a negative post ( bad service and cold food) But recently we had a small group of 5 came in 730 on a Friday not a slow time for any bar/grill so was not expecting so fast service bit was 20 minutes before taking a drink order and waitress rolled her eyes when we said we would like drinks before placing our food order 10 minutes and 2 of the drinks came wrong. Didn't say a word amd order couple apps and one sandwich not a huge food order but the group was out drinking and just munching anyways 1 app never came and what did come was not good at all. read more

Food was 10/10 - hot, fresh, and flavorful. It's not often that you find a place that makes a perfect steak. Service was great as well - they were fast and attentive. Great appetizer options, as well as menu options - it's not overwhelmingly large. I will definitely be returning. read more

I ordered a four piece chicken basket I live about 3 1/2 four minutes away up the hill. It's 100° outside when I got I opened my box. My chicken strips look great. My onion rings are over, battered, thick and soggy oil when I called the did not way to make it right. She told me I would have to come back down the hill right now to come and get my order of onion rings replaced or me the dollar up charge after I just paid $14 for a basket and that was the only way she could take care of me horrible service and I will never be back. I recently visited Mac's Bar & Grill in Pendleton, Oregon while participating in the Pendleton Motorcycle Rally with some friends. While there my friends and I decided to eat at Mac's Bar & Grill. What a great, serendipitous, idea!! We had a very nice, knowledgeable, friendly server that helped us to decide on our dinner choices. I don't remember how we started discussing Mac's barbecue sauce, but we tasted some and all four of us LOVED it! The sauce starts out tangy and tasty and without realizing it, becomes a bit spicy! The spice level seems to escalate the more I ate it. I ordered the spicy cheese curds on the advice of another motorcycle rider I talked to earlier in the day. The spicy cheese curds were INCREDIBLE, especially with the barbecue sauce! Then for my entrée I went with the Alaskan King Salmon and I requested the salmon to be covered with the barbecue sauce. Best decision I could have made! The sauce added a nice flavor profile that made the salmon some of the best I ever ate! That was an unexpected surprise. Clean and orderly, plenty of seating, family friendly, logical progression of service, knowledgeable waitress, greeted at the door. Food was not top tier, but it's a sports bar, so it exceeded expectations. Onion rings were OMG. Fried pickles were definitely a good choice. Good varied menu, seems to be a local favorite spot. The server was nice and friendly. We both got prime rib and we both ordered medium rare but they came out with over half well well done and the middle medium. The meat was very tough and I couldn't eat much of it because it was just too tough. My husband didn't have much potatoes but mine had a ton. His had only a 1/4 of the amount I had. We told the server and she just laughed and told him to eat some of mine. My husband a couple years ago had the prime rib there and it was really good. Maybe the quality of meat went down. To start, I have to say I may be spoiled from the food of the portland area and my expectations may be high. So.... the review of the chicken Alfredo was bland and the chicken chewy. The chicken fried steak dinner was OK but I've had much better. The carrot cake was good but the chocolate lava cake was the worst. It was hard very dry could hardly chew it and there definitely wasn't any "lava". Plus both of these desserts were very small for the heavy price tag. I have to tell you that I usually have to salt fries but these were tasty without extra salt. Not sure what spice mix they use but they were excellent! The Hotel clerk at the Hampton Inn told us about this place, that it was a good location to eat dinner. Everything here was great, the drinks, staff and the decor. But the one thing that lost it a star was the fact that the food arrived cold and I mean cold. The waitress so concerned and fixed things immediately and way above what we had expected, major kudos to her and the management. Definitely a place to return to next time we roll through town. Again, even though they took our issue in hand with great respect, I have to kill a star just due to the fact that the kitchen staff even let the orders go out in that manner...sorry. read more

We stopped in when my daughter was playing softball with the college. She love the ribs we don't like the size. They are mini riblet size. It's not a whole rack. It is a quarter of the size of what a rack ribs should be. Prices were a little bit above what a small town restaurant should charge It's definitely a bar with food. Been stopping by for almost a decade and the food can be great, but I'm repeatedly disappointed by my order coming incorrect or the size of the chicken breast/burger pattie. There are times in our lives were we create behaviors that become a staple in our weekly or regional travel routines. Mine is a walk, a walk to discover the undiscovered in the towns I travel to. Tonight's walk led me to a sign "Mac's Bar and Grill" and it didn't let me down. I took my seat at the bar and was immediately intrigued by the beers on draft. Although not as vast as what I'm am use to, their selection was diverse and on point. I had a Bruce Lee Porter from Prodigal Son Brewery, local and delicious. I then was driven to my purpose of the walk and dove into the menu. Pulled Pork, Burgers, Wings, Rueben, French Dip or should I behave and go for one of the 4 salads? Choices, choices, choices and exactly what should be expected from a bar and grill. I personally went for the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tots. I place my order, ordered another Bruce Lee Porter and my food arrived. I was instantly impressed at the portion and quality of the food. My first bite was into a properly seasoned tot and it was on point. I continued by slicing the Pulled Pork Sandwich in-half and was instantly looking for napkins, as this sandwich split at the seam. After properly prepping myself I took a bite and this pulled pork sando satisfied. I must profess that whenever I try a new restaurant and see a pulled pork sandwich on the menu, it is my restaurant food barometer. How is the flavor? Is it house pulled? Is it house roasted/smoked? Boom, boom, boom!!! This pulled pork satisfied each. Flavor: sweet with a little spice. House pulled: Ummmm yes, there was effort here. No large chunks and unwarranted pieces of fat. House Roasted/Smoked: honestly I am not sure, but I'm leaning on the roasted side. Either way it was moist and flavorful. On top of that, properly dressed with fresh coleslaw. Needless to say, I was stoked and for 10 bucks, seriously excited. After getting a picture for the food, let's talk ambiance, if this is what your looking for. Let's just say if a 50s Diner crashed into a Bar & Grille, you would have Mac's! With the timely rumble of the trains passing to the south and the Pendleton Round-Up Grounds to the north, this place has a little bit of energy. This energy is not missed with the service at Mac's. Although strapped with a large bar section, Kyle (bartender) was attentive at the bar, while still tending with his tables. He was running the vast majority of the night, but never failed to check in with me at the bar. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I understand that it is very difficult to tend bar and wait on multiple tables, at the same time. Kyle tended to all of us in an professional manner.
