This location has plenty of parking. It has a rustic feel with several large tables. You order at the counter and then food is delivered to your table. The service is friendly. The portion size is generous. The price is good for what you get. I liked the beans and didn't care as much for the potato salad. The brisket was thick and was good and almost dry but not quite. I liked the ribs as well.

Cashier (from Kentucky) was a delight. Great first impression for this establishment. Hubby enjoyed the ribs with a variety of sauces. He loves Mac and cheese and said it was tasty. I wanted wings. None to be found. Only reason I give it a four versus a five. I enjoyed the tater skins with chicken added. Hit the spot. Like the ambiance, music and again - service was great. Great place to grab some bbq.

This is a really cool place that serves some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Plenty of choices and a fantastic staff. We will be back!

Nice clean large restaurant with the smell of woodsmoke greeting you upon entering. I had the pork plate wirh 2 sides and it was perfect. The pork was smoked to perfection and fall apart tender with your choice of sauce on the side. The bbq beans were loaded with pork and a perfect flavor and potato salad was spot on. Perfect for large groups m, kid friendly and dessert looked tempting..

This place was one that was recommended. Very good BBQ! The service was outstanding and they were all so friendly. The tables had a rustic vibe and I liked the picnic style seating. The pulled pork egg rolls were really good and different. It's worth the trip!

BBQ Platter (Brisket and Chicken) with Baked Beans and Mac N Cheese

The brisket had a really good flavor. The fries were delicious. The seasoning on them was delicious. Mac n Cheese very creamy. They sell their bbq sauces and rubs. The spicy bbq wasn't that spicy.

We tried Big D's because we had a coupon for $5 off. Dan got burnt ends and I got brisket. We were disappointed. Both meats were very dry. Granted, brisket is notorious for being dry. Our friend who competes in barbecue cooking says his biggest challenge is getting the brisket to the judges before it gets dry. Big D's didn't get it to us before it got dry. In fact, it was so dry that when I tried to share a slice with Dan, it fell apart. The burnt ends were also dry and they were excessively fatty. They didn't taste like burnt ends we've had before. They were pre-sauced. What was burnt was sauce. They reminded me of chunks of roast beef with barbecue sauce. The irony is that we didn't even get our full $5 off. The cashier gave us 10% off which was $3.60. That's not much less, but it's frustrating since we were disappointed with the meal.

Burnt ends platter with pit beans and French fries. These are my leftovers after being stuffed!

First time to Missouri and Branson area, wanted to try some bbq. Overall the experience was okay…read more Initial impression, you walk in and order food at a counter before finding a seat and they bring you your order. Guy at the ordering counter was okay... He answered my questions about the food, albeit with a soft voice for such a loud/busy location. He just lacked any welcoming spirit, and did not give any effort to sell the food. It's our first time at the location and I clearly was having trouble navigating their huge menu, but it was more of what do you want, yes/no. Food: Fried catfish 5/5: crispy, light, well seasoned. Definitely the highlight of the food we ordered Brisket 2.5/5: we ordered a pound, portion was good size, but overall it was pretty dry. With enough bbq sauce it was passable. Ribs 1/5: weakest point of the food. Dry, almost tasteless, chewy. Not sure if we just caught them at the end of the day because we went for dinner but the meats seemed old/dry. The ribs and brisket arrived maybe 5 minutes or less after we ordered it, which begs the question if it's freshness and quality which showed in the product taste. The catfish on the other hand took 10-15 minutes and came out hot and was clearly freshly fried , and again this translated to its quality. Service: the servers were fine. Polite, welcoming, helpful. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Earlier in the trip we visited gettin basted and it's clear why they won awards for their bbq. On top of that, the experience was much more welcoming and warm.

TEXAN here & frequent visitor to TX Top 50 BBQ (TX Monthly updates every 4 yrs), which as you know…read moreis the king of the cuisine. I'm certain I've the experience to know what good BBQ is & isn't. And, boy howdy, this IS! Without a doubt, if Old 76 were in TX, they'd easily be on that coveted list of world renowned BBQ joints. That's truthfully rare to find outside the state. Situated exactly between Branson & West Branson, is this gem that's clean cut & the BBQ, sides too, is superbly executed. I'm not saying stuff to sound good. This is L E G I T, the real deal. They're pushing TRUE barbecue as it ought to be, not like some wannabe. I dare you to try any other place & find the same superb quality for ALL aspects. Get there before opening because the line gets long fast & the ordering takes time. There's limited seating that fills up quickly. I only wish it were larger in space & had the capacity for more help in front than 1 person. But for modestly using the limited space adjacent to a gas station, it's tastefully & professionally decorated & comfortable, just right for what it is, as opposed to the tacky, out-dated & sparse, or overdone interior that one tends to see elsewhere. Waiting for BBQ is honestly an experience & you must be prepared to wait your turn. That's how it is in TX for all the joints, folks ordering FCFS after waiting patiently in line for hours until sell-out. It's worth waiting on & building camaraderie with those about you. After all, you're about to celebrate gastronomically, I promise! Best sides: ALL of them but especially the corn casserole. You'd think it's vegetable bread pudding, it's so scrumptious!! Beans are no less than fantastic with bits of brisket - so warm & comforting. Potato salad is just a massive winner of full-mouthed goodness that's not typically mayo-ed down. Don't pass up the mighty fine coleslaw for topping your pulled-pork, pickles & bread for a highlight finish. Speaking of pickles, add more as a great acidic accompaniment. The sauce here is on the sweet side. It's really not needed AT ALL except to occasionally boost the flavor kick if taking leftovers for later. The meat's simple pepper & salt crust is all you need. & speaking of the Meats: Truly the star of the show as they should be. See the platter photo for yourself. Pick of choice or prime brisket. Prime for us. We could've appreciated a little bit thicker of a smoke ring but it was there despite the fast cook it probably endured. It needed to be a little less done on the fatty side but it was awfully tender anyway. Absolutely a winner brisket done right, so I can sweat the small stuff. All said, the perfect seasoning & bark set the tone & to me for brisket, that is most important. 99% perfect. Chicken: dark meat extra peppery & almost overdone but the white meat was super tender & nice to eat. It doesn't take away from the whole goodness of the platter though. Bologna: these ain't no lame Oscar Meyer store bought flappers. Talk about thickly cut, juicy heaven! Wow is all I can say - absolutely YUMMY. Pulled Pork: P I G G Y P E R F E C T. Don't even need sauce! Use the pillowy potato bread to die & go to taste bud heaven with rivers of salivation. This is so succulent, you might keep it all for yourself in a group setting. Ribs: BEST OF SHOW. These are guaranteed to be the best ribs in MO. Perfect pull & bite. 2 stacks of the thick bone-in pig walls left me amazed after just seeing the miraculous color & cook on the exterior of these spares. Their taste & texture solidified that Old 76 Smokehouse is the most bona fide BBQ joint I've ever been to in the Midwest. These ribs aren't somewhat good enough, they are majestic. My only wish is they'd had a beef rib aka meat candy option too. Desserts: both Bread Pudding & Key Lime Pie are highlights not to be missed. Stacked tall & the absolute righteous finish to seal the deal for such an experience. I just can't say enough good things about Old 76. Loved it so much, our 5-guy party bought shirts & a hat to wear in TX & TN. If this was local for us, "O76S" would be a frequent stop. We're BIG fans now. Last but not least, the gentleman working the show & taking orders was kinder than Jesus. He treated us right, & that's a fact. Talk about hospitality to the Nth degree. Ain't nobody going to be sad about that & we'll remember this kindness in anticipation of being right back ASAP! What we couldn't stuff ourselves above the gullet, we took home & all the girls promptly & heartily finished it off exclaiming how wonderful it was. They only missed out on the experience but not the tenderness & flavor!! Visitors & locals alike, DO NOT MISS this opportunity to dine like a king!! You will have died & gone to Texas, I mean heaven! One con & warning: if you don't have a truck with ample under-carriage space, avoid the furthest drive-way next to the fence. It is too steep & you WILL run aground, as we did. Enter & exit on the gas station side only.

The brisket was amazing, the fries and beans were also very good. I'll be heading back to try other menu options as soon as possible. 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!!

Me and my buddy decided to visit Branson for a movie and we decided to stop in at a random place to…read moreeat. We decided on Crazy Craig's treehouse, one that looked like cozy simple affordable food. Upon walking into the establishment, we discovered that the parking lot is a tight entry with the infamous Branson hills. The exterior was appealing and cool to look at yet the interior was cramped and barely any room to sit. They did have a nice area to sit upstairs though the pool table upstairs didn't contain the ball rack and the table was incredibly dirty/unmaintained. Moving onto the service. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would come and check on us, it was several minutes before someone came to check what we wanted with little to no business going on. However they were nice so that was a nice plus. The pricing for this place is a little overpriced for the simple food menu they have. We paid 10 dollars for chips and queso and the serving size that was on the platter was barely enough to feed us both. Our main entrees were easily 15 dollars a plate and not to mention that it took quite a lot of time for everything to come out. The overall taste of the food/drinks were very disappointing. My Dr Pepper was extremely flat no matter a refill or not, the chips were stale, and the queso tasted like fake cheese (only cheese I can compare it to is lunchables). My chicken sandwich I ordered was incredibly subpar: especially since when I pay 15 dollars for a sandwich I want a patty and not two chicken tenders plastered on a bun. Especially the pepper jack cheese on my tender sandwich had absolutely no spice which made me believe it was fake cheese as well. Even the pepper from the shaker only had a hint of the taste of pepper. The worst experience in this first and last visit was the fact that the pepper sauce (hot sauce) was all expired. Our tables sauce had expired on July 2025! I checked other tables and only one of the tables had a September 2027 date the rest had May 2025. So I didn't use any condiments on my food which overall ruined my meal. The only truly good food product I had was the French fries so if you go here just order the fries from the appetizer section and seeing how they are a bar as well: drink while you're here because you will need it to get through main entrees. Overall: friendly slow service, bad food, bad soda, and tight space and parking lot. Not worth your time!
