This place is a vibe! Mini arcade, bar with casino gaming for the adults and something for the in between. This place has delicious chicken options and gourmet shakes. The food is always served hot and moderately quick. The customer service is great both at the front counter and at the bar. If you haven't yet, you definitely gotta give them a try.... Chick-fil-a is my normal go-to for chicken sandwiches but wanted to try something different this time. Since this chain is owned by Shaq and I'm a fan of Shaq, I figured I'd give it a go. In short, it was decent. The chicken was lightly fried and had decent flavor. I ordered the "Shaq Attack" with pepper jack and chipotle bbq sauce. All the flavors blended well. Customer service was good too. Though I'm baffled as to why a tip was asked for considering I place the order, go up to get it when ready, and then throw the trash away. I digress. I would go back. Located in a strip mall, this counter service restaurant has a great menu, great atmosphere and great bar. The staff is friendly and helpful in navigating the variety of menu selections. They managed to downplay the Shaq experience and create a great family-friendly restaurant and menu. Everything we ordered was fresh made and served right away. The wings topped the charts for me. I pulled up to Big Chicken Carson City ready to casually taste a couple sandwiches... and somehow walked out with a full-blown chicken experience. Tried all four Sandwich Wars contenders, but Sir Charles took the win for me. It's basically their regular menu item The Ultimate with bacon and chipotle BBQ added and that combo just hits. Cheesy, smoky, crispy, messy in the best way. The spot itself is BIG. Full bar, TV screens everywhere, chill vibe, and enough space to stretch out after four sandwiches. I heard about the opening of Shaq's Big Chicken in Carson City on the news awhile ago. I was in CC so I thought I would try them out The place is pretty big with a lot of tables, a bar area and a few televisions. What caught my eye was how clean the place looked. Not messy like some fast food places. I ordered the Uncle Jerome's Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries. I tried the house sauce and buffalo hot sauce. The sandwich had a good size chicken breast with a nice amount of pickles and it was slightly hot a 5/10. I've had hotter at Hattie B's in Nashville. But when I added the buffalo hot sauce it pumped up to 8/10. The sweet potato fries were crunchy and with a good distinctive flavor. The fries were good on their own but I dipped them in the house sauce which had a nice tangy flavor. The service was professional but nothing stood out. You are given a vibrating buzzer to pick up your order. I enjoyed the food and will definitely come back to try the other sandwiches and coleslaw. Recommended! read more

Made it to the soft opening of Big Chicken. I like the open feel and set up of the restaurant with that bar towards the back corner. I wish the bathroom wasn't facing the dining area. It be better if it was tucked away facing the bar. I arrived around 4:30, parking lot was pretty full with a few slots open. There was only 6 people in line to my surprise, I thought it be craaaaazy! Restaurant still had a few tables open for seating so I ordered dine in. I asked if I could order my food to eat in and order additional items to take out and delay my take out order; denied. Everything is made to order and they do not have the ability to delay 1/2 of the order yet. I just didn't want to take that chance waiting on a longer line. It took me about 30 min. to try a variety of beverages and eat my Original Big Chicken sandwich combo, it comes with fries and a drink of your choice. You get a cup to fill your own soda. I tried their sweet tea, root beer, pineapple cream, vanilla agave cream, and black cherry with tarragon soda. They were all good but the pineapple cream won me over. They have that soft ice I like, yay! My sandwich took 15 min to prepare and it was hot when I picked it up at the counter. It was perfectly seasoned; peppery not salty. They have a variety of sauces too. The Carolina with the mustardy front drop paired well with my chicken and fries followed by the Chipotle BBQ sauce. After I ate I went back in a line of 12 people and once again to order my take out , the line moved quickly, this time there were 2 cashiers taking orders. I ordered the popcorn chicken and some tenders. They were both very good. Usually the popcorn chicken at other places is all batter with a morsel of chicken, not at Big Chicken, the popcorn chicken is popping here! Service was awesome! Pretty smooth transactions both times. If they keep it going with this kind of efficiency moving forward this will be a place I'd visit often. The Shaq Attack Sandwich with a side of Smokehouse BBQ is excellent. 9/10! Sundae is so basic like a person smoking a vape stick. Solid 1/10, just a big WTF. Shake was a 3/10 (peanut butter chocolate chip). Regular crinkle cut fries were hot, fresh and salty 8/10, but the sweet potato waffle fries were 3/10. Dirty fries missed the mark. Not my jam. We both liked the Mac n cheese 7.5 out of ten. Chicken Tenders: the meat was good size and juicy. Tenders aren't very crisp, kinda moist, breading isn't hitting, you need a good sauce to dip it in/cover up! Staff was great! A couple of Stubborn Sodas and tap, and a bar in the back. read more

I had the original Big Chicken along with a side of Jalapeno slaw. Also, grabbed a tub of the chipotle BBQ sauce. I'm giving it 5 stars for the sandwich. In my opinion, it stands out as the best chicken sandwich in the area. The breading is just right, not too much, and it has a delightful flavor. The Shaq sauce on the sandwich was unique and very good. I used the chipotle BBQ sauce for dipping and is was equally fantastic. On the flip side, the jalapeno slaw didn't quite meet my taste expectations. An unexpected highlight was the Pineapple Creme soda from the soda fountain machine. This place is very mediocre. The chicken has bland the fries were cold. The sauces on the hand were very good and you can get a variety and as much as you want. The service was very unwelcoming. When I took my dirty fries back because they were cold the first person sincerely apologized and went to the back to replace them. I wanted at the counter for a while then went and sat down. About 5 minutes later they brought out our fries and the fries were under cooked. I probably will not be back as it was expensive and not worth the money. read more

Shaq's Big Chicken is my new favorite chicken spot! It's clean, has plenty of seating, and the food is amazing. There are menus to grab when first walking in so you can take your time looking over the options. There is bar seating past the bathrooms where you can also sit and order. There are betting games installed in the bar. The food comes out quickly and cooked to perfection. They don't skimp on any sauces, fries, or drinks. Happy hour is from 3-6 pm. read more

The chicken was extremely hot, not a bad thing, but you would think that it would heat up the cold Mac and cheese. As a pickle lover, let me say that these pickles tasted like straight up cucumbers. As I was eating I felt like I was eating food out of a freezer. To be honest there was no service to even rate, one thing I can say is that it was like any other fast food place. I was getting new glasses next door and had about an hour wait. THEY told me to go next door to Big Chicken for lunch. I was not disappointed as I LOVE anything chicken.. I got the Uncle Jerome Nashville HOT sandwich. Not really hot, but next time I'll get the up-hotted sandwich. Amazingly, the internals are thicker than the bun! Good move, Shaq! I have been eating here pretty regularly since they opened I've tried most of the menu and really can't say anything bad about the food Sandwich was good, not great Fries are awesome. I really liked them Tenders are good and huge but my absolute favorite thing to order here is their chopped salad. I was having lunch here 2-3 times a week So why the 3 stars? I have the beetus. It's under control but there are a few things that set it off and one of those is a sugary drink I fill up my cup with "Black unsweetened tea". I take a sip and it tastes like a melted popsicle. Damn. Maybe the unsweetened tea is in the sweet tea. I try that one and it's worse I stop an employee and tell him what's going on. He gets another one who points to the unsweetened tea like Im an idiot and says"Thats unsweetened " "No it's not" "Yes it is. I made it" "Taste it" She gets a cuo, tastes it and tells me. "It's unsweetened. That's just how it tastes" I get my food, choke it down dry because I won't drink sweet tea As Im leaving I see a different employee emptying the unsweetened tea and say "What happened? Did it go bad?" "No, somebody put sweet tea in here" "I knew it" Then the employee who basically called me a liar comes out and says "They mixed it in the same container as the sweet tea " "I thought YOU made it" They broke my trust. Great service, nice layout! The staff was friendly. The chicken sandwich was great! We had the chicken mac n cheese and the regular Shack Chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and great tasting. The buns were nice and buttery. Side were Mac n cheese and fried. The Mac and cheese was ok and the fries were good, crispy, and well salted. Finally came in to see what the hype was about when they first opened. Parking lot had spaces available considering this is located in a strip mall. There was a door that we past that wasn't the front door so we continued until we got to the front door only to realize that the way the line was formed, the other door would have been a better door to enter through. There was probably 5 people ahead of me but the line went by fast. Purchased the Jerome's Nashville Chicken Sandwich which is extra spicy and a chicken grilled-cheese, along with 2 fries and 2 drinks. I asked if they could cut the sandwich, which they did and provide an extra container knowing we were splitting the sandwich. 2 meals totaled just over $31! They also have a screen to leave a tip which is now becoming the norm for most fast food places. Though I do like they have a custom option and the other options start at 10%, I'm getting sick of places asking for 15-20% tip when you walk to a counter, pick up your own food and no one is actually serving you. This place has a lot of sitting room. Also surprising is that it has a full bar in the back! Our Jerome's chicken sandwich was good but nothing more. It was a normal size chicken sandwich which for some reason I was expecting an oversize chicken sandwich since it's called Big Chicken. The chicken grill cheese was a bigger sandwich because it is served on sourdough bread. My daughter said it was pretty good. The fries were a generous amount. You have the option of multiple dipping sauces. Looks like they do have an employee that goes around and wipe down the tables pretty quickly after someone leaves. I guess they have to so people coming in have a place to sit. Even though it's a 4 star rating, for $31 plus tip, I don't think we will go again. Too many other options around town for less money for a lunch time meal. If you haven't been, I would still recommend going at least once and check it out for yourself. read more

I have mixed feelings about this food. The chips are really nice when you can get one that's not overly salty. The chicken bits I found very dry, either been left under the heater for two long or over cooked but the chicken pox burger was fine but not as much flavour as I would hope. My other half thinks it's ok, saying it has its own taste and sets it apart from other places.... I guess everyone is different. Stopped by Big Chicken for the third time since they opened. This time was for lunch. Ordered a chicken sandwich, jalapeño slaw, and the Ceasar salad. Food came out fast, hot, and fresh. The slaw was not my favorite but that may be a personal thing. All of the sandwiches here are good and the dirty fries are killer. Would recommend those for sure. The milkshakes are also very good. The employees here are nice and friendly. The restaurant is also very nice with a full bar and slot machines at the bar. They also added a foosball table and arcade cabinet since opening.
