Slider Alley VIP Lane
Amy N.

We went bowling at the Slider Alley VIP Lounge at Big Al's Meridian and had a great time! The VIP area has a comfy couch, table, and a fun, upscale vibe. We were on the end lane, which was nice for a little extra space. The pins stopped resetting partway through, but the server had mentioned that issue might happen and maintenance came quickly to fix it. I ordered a margarita, it was okay, though I wish it came in the glass shown on the menu and had more salt on the rim. The place itself is super spacious with an arcade, a sports bar full of big TVs, and plenty of options if you want to host an event. The service was friendly and attentive throughout. We paid about $110 for an hour and a half on the VIP lane plus four shoe rentals, which felt fair for the experience. Big Al's has a fun, party-style ambiance and is located right in The Village, so you can walk around afterward to enjoy the shops and restaurants. Overall, a really fun night out!

Fun time just need to arrive early to get lanes. Service was a little rough just think the waitress having a bad night.

it was the worst bowling experience I've ever had. The lights were reflecting onto the arrows and it was just a bad experience also the milkshakes we're chunky chunky.

Our server Julie. She's amazing!

I am honestly so taken back by the negative reviews. Please don't let miserable people fool you into not going here. You'll be missing out. Big Al's is amazing. The service is superb compared to any other bowling alley we have been to. The ambience is top-notch, and food is delicious quality of a nice restaurant. It's definitely not typical bowling alley bar food! We've had the pleasure of Julie (Jewls) helping us out with amazing service every time. She runs the tables and bar like a manager, constantly checking on everyone to make sure paying customers are getting top service. This is definitely an upgrade compared to any other bowling alley we have been to. Now we're spoiled here! We'll definitely be back over and over again as this is our now favorite place to bowl and have family nights.

My girlfriends and I decided we needed to get some grub and enjoy the patio weather today so we all picked Sockeye to hit up for our monthly outing. I arrived first and the patio area was pretty chill. Was sat at a great table and hung out till the rest of my friends showed up. My two friends and I did get to peep out the menu for a bit. Our last friend who is notoriously late allowed is some extra time to really check out the whole menu without feeling rushed. Happy hour was going on so of course the apps were calling to me. I can make a meal off of multiple appetizers. We finally got food ordered when our last friend showed up. I got the salmon and shrimp crab cakes. I have left Sockeye hungry before after having dinner here so I also added a side of chili just in case. I was ready to eat! My crab and shrimp cakes came out looking fabulous. They were fried a nice golden brown. So crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. I love the aoili that was on top, it added an extra flair to the crab cake. 3 were in an order and it was the perfect amount. I smashed all 3 and they were so good! I did have a couple bites of the chili. It was hearty in meat and beans. Rich in flavor and filling. I'm looking forward to adding this chili to some fries with some cheese on top for dinner later. I know it's going to be so good. Our server did a great job tonight. Despite the fact that she had to wait till our last friend to show up, our server was on top of it. Our water was always filled, she checked up on us and always made sure we were happy. As a past server, it's hard to manage time between tables when the whole party isn't there. Our server didn't have that issue today. My girlfriends and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food, enjoyed the atmosphere and was happy that we got to do this all on the patio. I always forget that there's a Sockeye by us off of Hill Rd. I will have to check that one out soon to grab more crab cakes. I do look foward to coming back to this location and enjoying another round of appetizers on the patio here.

The onion rings great. Meatloaf was ok. Mac n cheese was just ok. Dry. The guests liked the burgers. The salads were good. None of us did any of the many beers. Service was good. Tons of parking. Family place with a ton of tvs. We caught the NCAA bball games and there were very accommodating. There are TVs in the booths. When we go back, I'll go back.

We finished our walk and made our way to the restaurant. This will be our 6th year having lunch here. Trying to keep our traditions alive. As a courtesy, we called the day before to let management know that they will be expecting a party of 20. This joint charges 30 bucks per person for reservations as a deposit. 30 bucks?!? It's quite humorous really, 30 dollar deposit is more than a majority of their meals they charge. The manager on duty last year told us to call to let them know for a heads up but not necessarily make a reservation. And of course that manager doesn't work there anymore. The manager I spoke with was a complete joke. "Saturday is our busiest day". We'll, if it's your busiest day than why aren't you properly staffed? "We can't just serve you in 2 seconds". Never have I asked to be served in 2 seconds. What kind of management team do you have running this joint? Clearly unprofessional clowns. We showed up at opening. Clearly I wasn't taken seriously since the hostess had no clue about our large party coming. No tables were set up. "You should have came at 11:30". I didn't know that we had to accommodate to the manager and his timing. He set up our tables and didn't even bother with us the whole time we were there. Food was good. I had the salmon. I had asked for my salmon to be overly cooked. With my new kidney, I can't have anything like fish and beef rare. My fish was not cooked the way I asked and had to be sent back. I expressed to the server if needed out more than well done. So honestly, I don't think the cook took my request seriously. Last year eating at the restaurant was a crap show. This year is a bigger crap show. So many better restaurants in town that don't have this ridiculous reservation fee and yet this joint does. Management here is on the same tier as a trash can. Honestly, after this last visit, we might consider going to another joint to start a new tradition. My family and our money is worth more than the disrespect management gave us.

It's a nice sports bar theme, but also welcoming and cozy. Once we sat down, a server came over immediately with menus. It seemed like she was the only server though, which made me feel badly for her...she never stopped moving the entire time we were there with taking orders, serving, refilling drinks, taking payments, etc. We had a party of four - I ordered the "Hail Mary" (2 patties, onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, American cheese and pickles), hubby had the double steak burger and my friends ordered "The Big Hurt" and "Bullet Work". Bonus points for having multiple fries options (regular, garlic, French fry dippers and sweet potato), but unfortunately for me, they were out of sweet potato. Food came out relatively quickly and everything looked pretty delicious. My burger was bigger than I expected, which I appreciated. The onion ring was the perfect size for the patty and the drizzle of BBQ sauce was enough to flavor the burger without drowning it. The only downside was that the bacon wasn't crispy enough and the cheese was barely melted. The patties had some nice, crispy edges and the bun was soft even though it was toasted. It might have been bumped up a notch with some mayo on the bun, an extra slice of cheese and lettuce, but overall, it was a nice, very filling, burger. The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Thankfully the water glasses were enormous and I luckily made it through dinner with just enough to drink. We would definitely visit again to check out all the great options on this menu!

While everything was alright, I preferred the sides to the actual burger sadly. The meat was too crispy around the edges. We went twice in one week even but haven't been back since. The second night, I just decided the meat was overcooked and the patty was over salted. There's so many burger options out there to try before I feel like I'd return.
