A very "locals" bar. You're not really spoken to unless you're a regular. Bartender was friendly in taking my drink order and offering a food menu, but that's it. I think the owner was there, he was behind the bar like he owned the place, but only spoke to his biker friends who were all getting ready to leave on a ride. The food at this restaurant is absolutely a diamond in the rough. I have had a breakfast burrito and a chicken cordon bleu (special) the times I have come here and I am floored each time. Incredible control, balance, and flavor in the elements of the food. Having a piece of my friends' orders I can say even the fried cod, chicken, and meats are amazing. The owner is very cool. Sometimes The owner is very cool. We spoke with him the night before. Took my friends From out of town in the next day , and the owner's wife was working. It was pretty clear she didn't want to be there.She was not very nice.She didn't want to come out from behind the bar to take our order.Because there was like ten people at the bar. She told us she was going to cut us off after two drinks and two shots. This is a great neighborhood bar and if she doesn't want to be there she should stay home. Super cool dive bar with professional staff. They were short handed but their cook, Tristen, was bartending and killed it. Very welcoming and greeted us as soon as we sat down. Food was better than most bars and drinks were pretty stiff. Lived in the area for over a year and the first time I've popped in here. Usually go downtown Boise to go out and it's safe to say we have a new favorite spot to go. My husband and I were looking for a cheap place to play darts that didn't require us to go downtown. This was the perfect place! For a local dive bar I thought it wasn't going to be busy, but it was packed! This place is pretty small but we liked it that way. It offers pool, darts, karaoke, and even some food! We were disappointed with the price on drinks and the bar tenders as they weren't friendly, but we will still be back...we might even get brave enough to try some karaoke...at last with some help from liquid courage. read more

Have to give a little shout out to our local pub. We only live 2 blocks from this place. They have two new cooks in the daytime, and their food is now over the top. They have a couple daily specials which are good. Homemade soup 5 days a week. From scratch not frozen. They do a taco plate on Wednesday that includes homemade guac, and Pico. Drinks are cheap, and karaoke on Thursday and Friday. Come in for lunch, you will be pleasantly suprised. read more

It's a neighborhood bar. It's better than it used to be but it's still a dive bar. The new owner seems to have done some redecorating and made it look quite a bit better. He's also made sure that they have a blender for the first time and better choice of high end liquors. The second I walked into this place it felt absolutely gross. The bartender was incredibly rude and it smelled horrible. There were other people yelling and swearing. I didn't even take the chance to eat or anything because it was so off putting right from the start. After many years passing by this place as an underage boy wondering what it was like inside, I finally got my opportunity to check it out twice. Went in during a Boise State football game and the place was packed. We were able to snag one of two remaining tables directly in front of the big screen TV. The food was decent for being a bar, yet the smoke made it difficult to breathe (though does not create a cloud like Los Angeles-style smog). The service was prompt despite being packed. The second time we checked it out on a Friday evening - walked in to be greeted by an older demographic, which is ok. We found a beloved shuffleboard table and proceeded to play, despite objections from a regular offended at my "stealing their spot". Please go somewhere else if you expect the bartenders to kiss your ass because they have better things to do. The bartender Sandra or Shandra (whatever her name is) always drinks on the job and leaves the bar so no one can be serviced. She only gives good service to middle-aged men, which is not our demographic. She was drunk and took our full drink and dumped it. When we asked for a new one, she had a horrible attitude and wouldn't make eye contact. We had 3 different people ask for the replacement drink that was nearly full when she took it and dumped it. Finally, she gave us another drink and I asked the other workers if it is normal for her to drink on the job and take people's drinks that have been paid for, and have an awful attitude when asked to replace it, she got in my face and demanded I leave. She kept yanking the drink out of my hand so I demanded to speak to the owner of the bar, and she started crying (because she knew she was wrong) demanded us to leave and ran and hid in the back. I finished my drink, and she sent an off-the-clock bouncer to kick us out. I kindly let him know I will leave when I am refunded for the drinks we were having that were taken. He got the owner on the phone and the owner made them give us a refund. As we left, the bartender came outside and called me a bitch and a slut while she was crying. I hope she gets fired and I will be telling every person I know to not come to this establishment until she is removed. This is not the first time she has given us shit service, but it will definitely be the last as we refuse to come here and will be letting everyone know. read more

I used to go to this bar a lot about 20 years ago before the owner lost it to his wife Sam. I have stopped in a few times over the last year for a beer and a game of pool and it has really changed. I had heard raving about this place and how good their fingersteaks were, so I went to check it out. No server, so I went to the bar for a couple beers. The unsmiling, unfriendly bartender made me go get my fiance so he could show her his ID, after asking rudely if I was going to drink both beers. So we had one beer each and left. Still don't know how we were supposed to order food. If you go there all the time maybe it's a great place but I don't think I'll go back.
