The negative reviews for this place are clearly people that walked in looking for something to complain about. The portions were perfectly huge. We fed a family of 4 for $56 before tip which is crazy. The service is solid, we got checked on multiple times beforeo and after we got our food. Drinks were strong. And as someone who loves their sauce, them bringing over the sauce caddy with 5 different squeeze bottles and wet naps was awesome. The food itself was fantastic. One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. I regrettably went here once with my parents after we were done working hard on moving me into my apartment. We we exhausted and starving! Came in, got seated, then waited and waited and waited. No they weren't busy, maybe a couple other tables. After about 25-30mins we FINALLY got to place an order. We got fried pickles for appetizer to share. Waited another 45mins to FINALLY get the fried pickles which were inedible!!! Seriously, I took a photo and will attach/update this review later when I find it. They were disgustingly soggy in oil, not crunchy at all, the batter just slid right off, so so gross. We were pissed at this point and wanted to leave. So we did. Never ever going back and I tell everyone about this experience and to never go there. The service was absolutely atrocious. So so rude and disrespectful. Horrible energy, dirty and grungy. This place just needs to shut down. Also come to find out, my neighbor worked there for awhile and they treated her like . They don't even have air conditioning for their staff in the kitchen during the super hot summers. read more

Step aside Goodwood BBQ, step aside. We have been coming to Big Mic's for a few years & the food & service never disappoints. This is a restaurant with a bar that is in downtown Kuna. The music is loud & therefore people try & talk over the music. I don't mind the noise, but if you want a quiet dining establishment this isn't it. Now for the food. I absolutely love their ribs!!! The meat literally falls off the bones & the rub they use is so delicious. You also get a sauce caddy (ranch, fry sauce, 2 bbq, ketchup) for your table for all your saucy needs. We tried the jalapeño poppers & they were really good. They offer a nice selection of sides for your meals to choose from. My husband & I had three drinks, an appetizer & shared the ribs platter. Portions and quality has continued to decrease while pricing has continued to increase. The BBQ is akin to oven baked food, not real Smokey BBQ goodness and the prices are outrageous. Not to mention the prices on their "premium" liquor, ridiculous markups on pours when we're in a state controlled liquor market, so the restaurant is paying MSRP for alcohol and charging insane markups, $45/oz on a $70 bottle, Kuna doesn't have much as far as restaurants go and even with limited options I will never go here again. Absolutely loved this hidden gem in the heart of Kuna. We came in for an early lunch and welcomed immediately. I started with a smoked old fashioned, which I highly recommend. The bartender was kind enough to show me his process which is quite impressive! I went with the server recommendation of a meltdown sandwich, really incredible flavors and plenty of food for a hungry single or to split. The taters weren't the best but it didn't distract from everything else being top notch. Great service, excellent food, fun ambiance. I really enjoyed it and will be back, it's worth the drive from Meridian. Here's to continued success! Hope this place knocks it out of the park in 2022! read more

Ok so I am sure I will get some hate mail for this but I was thoroughly unimpressed with the BBQ quality from Big Mics. The only reason for the extra star was the super friendly service we had yesterday. But I also did love the remodeled inside of this old historic building in downtown Kuna. They have a great layout and an awesome place to watch any sporting event which I might just come back for the drinks and TV's everywhere. The food however was a huge miss and disappointment for me...my wife loved her burger on a bagel and had great flavors. The BBQ however fell really flat. Now I have earned the right to be a BBQ snob and have been mastering the art for years. I ordered the brisket and rib combo for $26 and the amount of meat was maybe $10 worth of food. What threw me off was the meat came wrapped in tim foil and tater steamed...while it did have some smoke flavor it was a poor representation of BBQ. The ribs were so overdone and the brisket was very fatty. Either way the high point was the onion rings and even the coleslaw as pretty flavorless. I do like and want to love this place based on how close it is to our house and the fact there is not great options around here. I will for sure give this another try and hope for meat that is fresh off the pit and not heated up. read more

I've been to Big Mic's several times in the past for drinks only. I opted to take an out of town guest, having heard great things about their food. We wanted just a couple appetizers to share. We arrived on a Wednesday at lunch time. There was a very large group in the back, and there appeared to be one waitress. We waited a very long time for service, though she was friendly and helpful when we did see her. The food we ordered was bad. We had jalapeño poppers, that were fine. It was pretty clear that they were just basic frozen poppers. The brisket sliders were nearly inedible. The brisket was so dry, it resembled a hockey puck, and they do not come with any sauce. I might return for a cocktail in the future, but I'd likely never order food here again. When all was said and done, 2 rounds of beers and a couple appetizers took 2 hours, due to staffing. read more

We stopped by here for lunch but what we got was ripped off. We decided to share a 2 meat plate and ordered it with brisket. The brisket we received was sad and pathetic, it was 2 pieces of brisket that were about 1/4 inch thick and 5 inches long and that was it for a $20 2 meat plate. LOL. They should be embarrassed but I know they are not. The bbq sauce was nothing special at all. If this is what people consider a good meal these days it's really sad. Big Mic's First review in two weeks! And the first place I've dined out since being off the grid for 3 weeks! After living off freeze dried meals all I really wanted was some good old fashioned BBQ. I had heard about Big Mic's a couple times from friends in Kuna, all great! My husband and I started our night with PBR ($2.00) and a Budlight ($2.50). The drinks came out quick which was probably good because our food took FOREVER to be done. We waited about 30 minutes after ordered. I admit, it was a rather busy evening and nearly all tables were full. I'm sure they're understaffed like everywhere else. If our bartender/waitress didn't make sure we always had a drink i probably would have been a much less happier camper. For food we ordered the Brisket Platter ($15.50 comes with two sides and a roll) with home fries and coleslaw. It was fantastic! The brisket was super tender and nearly melted in my melt, with the perfect amount of smokiness. Honestly, we didn't even hardly use the BBQ dipping sauce that it came with. It really was amazing all by itself. The fries were awesome, especially paired with the homemade fry sauce. The coleslaw was super tasty. It wasn't overly sweetened or drenched. 10/10 would order again. The biggest downfall was my own fault because I suggested we share a plate and to be honest I could have inhaled my own no problem. And I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for another plate so moral of the story don't be stingy and just get your own meal. read more

I really enjoyed this place a lot. kuna is kind of out of the way for us as we live in west boise but we were over there for the pumpkin patch and saw the yelp photos of this restaurant and WOW! had to stop in! rob was our server and I think he's the manager and he was super friendly and accommodating the entire time we were there. it's a cute place with lots of space. a full bar, apparently a big patio (I didn't see it), and there's even a fire place in the back. the building is really old and they converted it and updated it. I was told there is live music there all the time and they have all kinds of different acts to check out. I want to come back for that! my negative on the actual place is the tables. every table they have is high top. not only did we have to stack high chairs for my toddler to have a place to sit, but those type of chairs are very hard on people with bad joints. my dad really can't sit at those kind of tables but we were forced to make due or leave. I wasn't a fan of that. on to the important stuff- the food! everything came out piping hot and fresh. the menu is so good- if you like BBQ this is the place. they have smoked meats, mac and cheese, burgers, appetizers....it all had me drooling. I ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich which comes on a bagel (what??) yeah it's random. it was good but I don't really know why they do all their stuff on bagels. my mom got the mac and cheese with pulled pork and crispy onions- OMG! it was soooo good. drool worthy. I wanted to eat all of it! my son got the smoked hot dog and he loved it. they don't have regular fries there, only these like potato slices that they smoke. they were ok. I prefer regular fries. so does my son. dad got the smoked brisket sliders. I didn't get to try them but they came on regular buns (not bagels) and they looked good. overall I thought the food was delicious and the place itself was really cool. they have a full bar and I bet it gets wild in there late at night. Cannot say enough great things about this place . We happened to be checking out downtown Kuna and stumbled upon this place. I have never had BBQ before so this place set the bar high for my future BBQ. We had the meltdown on a cheddar bagel and can I just say - OOOOMMMMGGG!! BEYOND DELICIOUS!! Also the chili fries are a must have. Not only was the food ah-mazing but the staff were complete ROCKSTARS!!l- they were on it!! Let me start by saying we have eaten here several times over past year or so. We were so terribly disappointed tonight. We ordered a combo platter with pulled pork and brisket. Let me remind you this is a BBQ place. When we got our food there was maybe 4 oz of meat if that. The pork had absolutely no smoke flavor to it. The brisket I'm not even sure how to describe. It was sliced thin like in a roast beef sandwich and then grilled on each side. It tasted like leather and again no smoke flavor. It seemed as thought they cooked the meat a few days ago and just grilled to heat it up. It was horrible. So sad as I was hoping for a good meal out. When we were first walking to the restaurant, we were greeted by one of the workers crossing the street with us. He was very friendly and kind, making us feel welcome. When we first walked in we were greeted by some fun music and lovely people. I ordered the grilled cheese bagel and it was very articulately crafted and delicious. It tasted like a Krispy Kreme donut. I think I fell in love again while I was here. There were a lot of cool sauces they served to us. The food is so so good! I love the brisket bagel so tasty and it's massive. Also the cowboy baked beans are amazing. It's busy a lot so it can be slow at times but the service is always good and the staff always let you know wait times etc. The building is very old and it's cool to go in an older building like that they have music often and it's always a good time. I have always loved the bbq at Big Mics and the friendly people that work there. Which is why I was more than surprised on my last experience. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich which was very good. I then ordered baby back ribs to go. The ribs were completely different than their usual awesome ribs. They were so salty that they were inedible. I threw them away. Seems like maybe a salty brine then a thick coating of salty dry rub. I hope they go back to the wonderful ribs they were known for. read more

Best chicken wings you'll ever eat. Wednesday is 1/2 price wing day. Every day has a 1/2 price special. We usually go in the early afternoon so it's not crowded. I have no idea how busy it is in the after work hours. It's a redneck bar & BBQ which usually means the BBQ is going to be fantastic and at Big Mic's it is. Some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten. Hard liquor drinks are a little expensive but since my doctor told me to limit my liquor intake to 2-3 drinks a week, I just have iced tea. If you're into fantastic BBQ this place is a hidden gem. The decor is very charming....fresh and new and the chalk paintings of the drink specials made me want to have some Huckleberry whiskey.....and I don't even drink whiskey! We were not impressed! The menu had no photos and no prices on it which was strange. We had a BLT that was dry no sauce on it? And a Mac with pulled pork which was terrible and tasteless. Over promised / Under delivered ! Having been in the Kuna area for over a year now, Big Mic's has been a place on our visit radar. We opted for the 1st time to go with an online order process and get a lovely takeaway meal, enticed by the online pics. I must admit when ordering, the higher $$ costs were a bit disconcerting to me but putting that piece aside and expected the best, we forged ahead and scrolled through the menu making our picks. Here is a cut and dry summary of our own personal experience - 1) When picking up the food, once in the establishment I was surprised when I was directed to walk through the restaurant, out the back door, around the corner to a food truck parked out back. Don't get me wrong, I have eaten from many a food truck but I was surprised this particular time as the online system made no mention of the food source being other than from the inside bar (no pics or indications that our food was coming from a FT). My first impression of the inside of the truck's appearance was .. yellow flag. 2) When ordering, we opted for a timed pick up with the online feature, picking the best time for us. I noticed that when I did pick up the food (5 minutes early) that the containers were not hot and the food inside upon inspection was likewise - disappointing as the reason you give a targeted pick up time is so that the food is not prepared too early and left sitting ... which leads to SBS "soggy bottom syndrome" - been there got that. 3) Pricey - from the attached ticket you can see we paid (plus tip and tax) $47.39 for two meals (one pulled pork sandwich and one slider order - 2) can't say I have ever paid this much for a food truck meal set .. the sides were costly ($4 @) and small in portion - surprised with a 50 cent ping for BBQ sauce which you would think would be a condiment. The $4 Steak cut fries were overpriced for sure. 4) Food - the buns the pulled pork and slider came with were wet and reminded us of Winco white bread .. the Cowboy beans and slaw were flavorful but the portions for $4 @ were way short of meeting the fair deal measure .. the steak fries were smaller thin cut, highly seasoned and fell short of our past experience and needed "the oven heat up treatment" just to eat .. give me Big Judd's any day. 5) Service was OK/well intended, the servers inside the restaurant seemed initially confused when I arrived to pick up the meal, not finding my food at the bar .. when asked if I ordered online/responding yes to their question, my hiking adventure began. All in all, a crash and burn and not an experience we plan to relive. I am sure onsite meals could be different - hopefully so, but the online order & takeaway experience for us taught us that type of experience is only for the strong of heart and fat pocket patron$ only. read more
