Being located in Kuna you wouldn't expect such good food, clean environment, and helpful staff. This has become my go to place for a beer and BBQ after work. Good beer choice and reasonable prices for craft beer. Large bar, comfortable seating with plenty of large TVs (playing the Boise State Game of course. Friendly, helpful staff who knows the beers and was able to suggest a good one. Nice area for the band who played, Jake Leg, who was great. All in all, a nice place in a classic (1910) building to hang out. Updated: Several times back. Service is great....the place is a pleasure to enjoy. Ordered the sampler platter with baked beans and Cole slaw along with a hazy IPA. Overall meal was good. I would eat here again. BBQ has nice flavor. Biggest and most pleasant surprise was their Korean sweet and spicy sauce. It brought a unique flavor profile to the table that I did not expect but would definitely recommend. Warnings would be to not order that Cole slaw if you are not a fan of apple cider vinegar. It is very evident in each bite. You should also, and most important, not come at a time where you are in a hurry. My order was taken within a reasonable time but it took awhile to get my food. That is not a reflection on the servers. They were attentive. It is just a restaurant that is slow to get food out and is a little like eating dinner in New York City. I wish I would've known it was gonna take +1.5 hours to get mac and cheese + chili cheese fries before I ordered... Spent 2 hours and over $55 that I could've spent elsewhere . Service was nice, but extremely slow and inattentive.. they didn't check in on us so we had to ask for rounds. Drank much more than I expected while waiting for the food to arrive. Thankfully, we were bought a round because we were ready to walk out. Seemed disorganized with sections. It was busy for a Friday night but should have been manageable considering the amount of wait staff. Music/entertainment was amazing though! 7/11-19 my wife and I saw the Thursday special running from 6-10pm on FB. An 8oz cheeseburger, fries and a beer for $10! We checked it out. We had a Bud Light, burger and potatoes. Burger was very good. We loved the cheesy bagel bun. The potatoes were crisp and seasoned good. Cold beer! Great food for the price. Great atmosphere, music was country, darts playing in the background. Service was also very good! We also tipped the cook in the food trailer behind the building for doing a great job with the food! A fun local bar with full beverages. We went in for karaoke but really enjoyed the atmosphere as a whole. Charming, long bar as well as a variety of other seating options. The location of an old, iconic & historic building just adds to the character. Surprisingly, it's not very full either of the 2 times I've been there. Tonight was my friend's birthday. We had dinner at Enrique's and then went across the street to BigMic's for drinks. Our bartender, Aaron, was so nice and immediately bought my friend a drink for her birthday. He (the bartender) was so busy but took the time to come talk with us and always made sure we had everything that we wanted. At one point, my friend wanted a specific chaser and a busser heard my friend talking and the busser stopped what she was doing to go get the chaser. Excellent customer service! The drinks were great. There was karaoke and it was fun and the bar itself was so clean and spacious! We will definitely be back again for another girls' night. read more

One of the best BBQ joints I've ever been to. Their chicken wings are KILLER! They were so good I decided to wash them down with a combo platter. All four meats were delicious (pulled pork, a few spare ribs, chicken, and sliced brisket). The kicker? Pulled pork was CLEAN. No surprise globs of fat. The service and ambiance were good in the very old, but recently restored building. it felt more like a bar than a restaurant, but that is a fine vibe for a BBQ joint. It appears the food is prepared out back in a food truck and brought in for service. That seemed a little odd for a brick and mortar restaurant, but again, not a big deal. The vinegar coleslaw was very good, and the MacnCheese flavor was ok, but the pasta was over cooked and mushy. The Mild BBQ sauce was a little cold from the fridge and didn't have much flavor, but it was not objectionable like many sauces with lots of liquid smoke. Unfortunately, the BBQ meats were not very good. I had the sampler plate with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. All of the meats were gray. They were very anemic looking. In addition, all of the meats were salty from the rub. The ribs were over cooked and the meat fell off the bone and was dry. The brisket was also over cooked and was dry and crumbly. The worst part is that the fire in the smoker was apparently smoldering and produced an ashy flavor in the meat, instead of a clean wood smoke flavor. The pulled pork was the best of the meats, but it too was salty. read more

Worst food service I've ever experienced in my life. Waited 90 minutes after ordering to be told that they hadn't even started on our meals, including appetizers. This after a server had told us 30 minutes earlier that our food was the next order up. I use the term "server" loosely because we didn't really have one. A nice, young lady came from the bar area after we sat at an empty table for about 20 minutes to see if we had been helped & took our order but from that point on we had to grab random servers to ask about our food. It was literally like we were invisible. We are older and thought perhaps they didn't want us there. After finally being told that after 90 minutes our time was wasted, we went to Arctic Circle where we received prompt service and hot food. read more

This venue is one of the NICEST bar/tavern/pub/musical venues I have been to in DECADES. In a rustic historic building in downtown Kuna. The baby grand player piano plays host to mic night, and the second bar in the back accents a HUGE fireplace and skylight with dual chandeliers. The prices are more than reasonable, and the staff are MORE than friendly. There are over half a dozen HD flat screens that play sports or special interest shows to the customers interests. Even the complimentary popcorn made with a house seasoning crafted by the owner himself to the smoking patio out back behind the bar where you can see attention to detail in the backside of that huge fireplace. I don't know what else to say. Insert whatever positive concept you feel here and that is what this bar has. read more

Had 1/2 rack BBQ ribs. Was not BBQ sauce. Was more like salt sticks with good ribs. Had to scrape the EXTREMELY EXCESSIVE SALT OFF. THE BBQ sauce was also very salty. We are new to Kuna and have tried Big Mic's twice in 3 days. Both times it has taken us forever to receive our food!! The first time was 1.5 hours, this time, well I'm writing this review as I'm waiting and it's been approximately 45 minutes. The first time we were told there was a catering order. This time no reason at all. I had to flag the waitress down to ask how much longer it would be. Staff are very friendly but the long wait times are going to drive your business away. Maybe you need a second truck to increase speed? Food is phenomenal so this is really a disappointment. read more

First and last time we will be going here unless things improve. I had heard mixed reviews from people, half saying its the worst BBQ & others saying it was fair. We went in hoping the latter half were right. It was a cool atmosphere, had horrible service, and less than average BBQ. Took 30 min to get our food, and it was not busy. We ordered the platter. Brisket tasted like a slow cooked roast. The pulled pork was the best thing on the platter, which is good, since its near impossible to mess up pulled pork. Chicken and ribs were ok. I have had better ribs at the chains here in Boise. Salad was served without dressing, and we had to wait 10 min to get someone's attention. Presentation was not considered at all, yet the prices are expensive. A cold stale roll was served with the platter. Also, the meat came with no BBQ sauce choices. We had to ask for sauce.. It was awful. I think someone bought some cheap bottled sauce & squeezed it in a dish. After living in the South, we have had lots of great 5 star BBQ and tons of homemade local sauce options which are typically served in most places.Boise has some great sauces made locally that would be ideal choices. I think this place could have great potential, but the owner needs to take time to fly around to places in Texas, Tennessee, & Georgia to taste some actual good BBQ. If you do not know any better you may think this place is good. When we eat out, we want to pay for something that is better than we can cook at home. Not the case. Big mikes was very disappointing I heard good things about this place. I ordered the half rack of ribs. About 15 minutes later our new waitress said they would not be ready for 2 hours. They do pour a great drink just don't eat there. I was handed off to a different waitress because the waiter did not want to deal with us. My wife asked for ketchup and mayonnaise and we only got the ketchup when we were almost done no mayonnaise at all. read more
